Greene King East Coast IPA (Keg/Bottle)

Greene King East Coast IPA (Keg/Bottle)

Bottle and nitro keg: Filtered

Ingredients: Pale malt; Amarillo, Centennial, Citra and Galaxy hops

Bold, brash American style IPA with lip-smacking bitterness and punchy citrus and tropical fruit flavour. Amarillo in the copper and as a late hop gives lots of citrus fruits, floral and spicy notes. Centennial, Citra and Galaxy add more citrus and soft tropical fruit and fresh dry hop character. Crisp and bold bitterness adds to the refreshment. Pale malt gives a clean easy drinking body.

3.2 An okay session ipa. Not my favourite hop combination, but it’s mostly balanced at least. Malt & Hops Belarusia Minsk
3.1 Misty light amber ale with a moderate off-white head. Decent retention. Nose: biscuit malts, fruity esters, floral hop. Very light body. Soft carbonation. Taste: light sweet, medium bitter. Fruity, floral. Long hoppy ending. Drinkable enough.
4.5 Draft in a nice glass with beer name. Fruity taste with a full creamy head and thick taste. Enjoyed with and without food. I would have as a draft Again.
3.1 Holding note as tried twice in Zittos. North Berwick and enjoyed with food but not reviewed.
3.1 Drank after Dragon Ride. OK beer but nothing special
2.7 Aroma: Medium berries, floral. Appearance: Brilliant amber body. Medium off-white head. Small bubbles. good retention. Flavour: Medium bitterness. Medium floral, berries. Medium-light malt, bready, toffee. Dry finish with bitterness and berries. Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium-light carbonation. Overall: Although the American hops are not as present as the label advertises, the beer is very good. A good Bitter, but not a very good IPA. 500 ml bottle, poured. 21A. American IPA
2.2 Bottle from Lidl or Tesco, not sure anymore. Soapy citrus aroma along with herbal and spicy notes, smells like any other Greene King IPA and no like any real east coast IPA. Clear amber color with minimal sized white head. Caramel with plenty of dry and unbalanced bitterness. Thin body, flat carbonation. Heavy bitter and metallic aftertaste. Avoid.
2.8 Average ipa
3.0 Nitro can. Pours golden with very thick and long lasting head. Aroma is fruity, citrus, some grass, some tropical fruits. Taste is light, fresh, some caramel, grassy, fruits. Nice beer!
3.1 Draught at Old griffin, Leeds Clear golden. Small head. Light, grassy aroma and flavour. Medium bitterness.
2.5 Golden and clear, this one obviously pours a superfluous nitro head - albeit a mercifully short-lived one. The mildish nose is 'generically sweet' - by which I mean it's hardly worth describing. Bitterness on the tongue is pretty restrained. Nothing really qualifies this beer for any IPA category, though it's passable as a golden ale (not that I ever expect very much from golden ales anyway).
2.0 Easy drinking but not an IPA. Wierd nitro effect does not add to an uninspiring mild flavor. Won’t buy it again. Don’t normally buy cans but thought this beer was something else. Conned by the picture on the can.
2.1 Pours amber with white thick foam like guiness. Foam is like whipped cream. Smells weird - like a wet dog. Tastes watery. Is this really an ipa? Wtf? Looks ok, smells and tastes terrible. Be aware!
0.5 Bought in cans from H&B, dreadful, no taste at all
3.0 Bière douce sans arôme particulier
3.0 Hunajainen kuivuus. Pehmeähkö.
2.6 Bottle. Golden body. White head with good retention. US hops, lemon, citrus, dialactyl, fruit, GK yeast, caramel, grass. Sweet with tannic character. Watery palate with an oily finish.
2.6 çBuena cerveza estilo indian pale ale, tomada de botella, mucho lúpulo y amargor seco
1.8 Water with unpleasant soaked clothes, stale milk. Moderate disturbing sweetness with some bitterness. Last say on BBF
3.1 Nitro’ed to death smooth flowing IPA but easy downing and fairly hopped. Too “creamflow” to earn any real respect but better than I expected! 4x440ml cans from the local bargain basement sh*thole.
3.1 Gylden klar skum hvid tæt Citrus grape malt korn Bitter meget sød lidt Flad blød Keg
0.5 Can. Entirely characterless. Insipid. Rather a chore to finish it to be perfectly honest. Very disappointing. Won't be buying it again.
0.9 Can with a nitro widget as if it were 1997. Nose is grain, faint floral . Taste is the weird dry, dusty nitro taste, malt, metalic, dishwater, soap, chemical, no hops at all. It's absolutely disgusting. I've managed less than 10 mouthfuls and had to pour away. The better reviews below seem to be from kegs or bottles, in the can I had it was horrific.
2.8 Can shared in Hackney - picked up at Waitrose. Pours totally clear gold with a tight, foamy white head. English yeast in the nose, doughy white bread, some white grape. Light to medium sweet flavour, more English yeast, hay, dough. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. OK balance in the finish, vague citrus, more doughy white bread. So so.
2.4 3May2018 Bitter grain malts, GK yeast, cereals, bitter citrus fruits. Clear gold, small, creamy, white head. Light bitter. Watery texture, bitter grain malts, wet straw, grass, citrus fruits, lemon peel, soft carbonation, medium bodied. Horrible crap. Can shared at Leighton's - thanks to Leighton!
1.8 3rd May 2018 Chez Smith bottleshare. Thanks to Leighton for the can. Clear gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light and fairly dry, modest fine carbonation. Mild minerals. Grainy malts. Light floral bitterness. Light citric peel. Light dry finish. Bleeugh!
3.0 500ml bottle from Walmart, Xiamen. Pours clear golden with a white head. Aroma of malt and hops. Bitter taste and finish. Pretty similar to the Shepherd Neame they used to sell. Decent enough.
2.6 Can with Nitro sample at a tasting at Beer&Beyond, Tel Aviv. Clear golden with creamy white head. The aroma is creamy with notes of caramel, milk, grains and some chocolate. Sweetish flavor, creamy with notes of caramel, herbs, earthy, citrus, a bit watery and some butter. Slightly dry, creamy texture, medium-bodied.
2.9 Bottle watching City vs Peterborough, 27/01/18. Golden pour with a decent off white head. nose is pale malts, grains, lemon drizzle, straw. Taste comprises citric sherbets, light breads, toasted malts, orange peel, light floral tones. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Average golde but not bad for the price point.
2.7 Aroma of biscuit, vanilla and a little caramel. Appearance is clear gold with a solid white nitro head. Taste is medium sweet of lemon, dough and hay with a bitter aftertaste. Palate is light body with a medium amount of very fine carbonation. Overall great nose but taste is too doughy and bitter finish.
