Trochę korzonków, figi, mnóstwo suszonych owoców, karmel, wszystko na słodko. Trochę pestkowców, morela, brzoskwinia. No i trochę boozy. Klasyczna Belgia. Hmm, doceniam. Ocena bardziej za styl, niż za to, co ja tu sobie myślę. Bo dobre, szczególnie jak na korpo.
330mk bottle from Carrefour in Ghent - chestnut brown body, beige head. Rich malty nose, dried fruit, nuts, bit of yeast. Malty but sweet taste, short pleasant finish.
Lekker fris goed bruin biertje! Lichte chocolade smaak, lichte toets fruit
Decent quad. Dark brown pour with creamy head. Sweet, plumbs, boozy and some caramel hints.
Pivko dávno kostnute. Trochu tmavšie. Chuť a vôňa prevažne sladova. Cítiť dosť alkohol.
Wielka czapa piany. Kolor brązowo=czerwony, niezbyt przejrzysty. Zapach suszonych owoców, wiśni w alkoholu, karmelu. Smak głęboki, bardzo złożony. Słodycz, alkohol, przejrzałe owoce, nuty korzenne, zioła i wiele rzeczy których nie potrafię opisać. Piwo ciężkie, trochę pali w gardło. Wysokie wysycenie. Lekko kwaśne, goryczka minimalna. Trudno się to pije. Zdecydowanie tylko do degustowania w mroźne dni przy kominku. Nie trafia w mój gust.
Ale de abadía cuadruple. Poca espuma. Color casi negro. Gusto dulce algo menos que la doble. Ciruela. Malta tostada. Retrogusto un poco seco a café. Mucho cuerpo. No llega a la altura de la chimay y compañía. Esta mejor la doble.

zapach intrygujący, lekko kwaskowe nuty przypominające dzikie piwa, trochę kwaśnego zielonego jabłka, słody, karmel i lekka melasa, piwnica, szlachetne i dobrze ułożone nuty alkoholowe, całość przyjemna, choć mogłaby być troszkę lepiej ułożona. kolor brązowy, jasny, klarowny, jak lekko rozwodniona cola. piana w kolorze złamanej bieli, średnio obfita ale stara się być trwała. w smaku pełne, słodkie, słody, karmel, słodka drożdżówka, trochę melasy i kandyzowanego cukru, dojrzałe jabłka i gruszki, drewno, odrobina nut kawowych, obecny, choć nie rzucający się alkohol, raczej przyjemny. goryczka niska, trochę karmelowa, trochę piwniczna i alkoholowa. dość wyraźnie rozgrzewa w ustach, choć w smaku nie czuć tylu procentów. nasycenie wysokie
Grey-brown color with a small beige and rocky head of medium lacing. Aroma of yeast, oxide, caramel and a mineral note. Similar taste, plus touches of herbs, dried dark fruits and spices backed up by whole grains and alcohol. Watery texture, medium-light body, high carbonation and a long-lasting acidic-spicy feel. One of the classics of imported Belgian beer, strong alcohol and some complexity compared to the competition, excluding other Quadrupels that arrived later on. Nowadays, we have a toned down version, simpler and with more artificial flavors, although it's still a pretty good beer.
Color marrón, translúcida, un dedo de espuma con buena retención. Aroma a levadura, caramelo y un punto de vinagre. Gusto dulce, sirope de caramelo, malta tostada, madera, especias, calabaza, algo de regaliz y muy alcohólica en boca. Cuerpo medio. Todo un clásico venido a menos que llevo bebiendo durante dos décadas, un cerveza muy especial para mi, aunque a día de hoy se me hace dura de beber.

From backlog. 0,3 litre Bottle from Tax Free store at Brüssel AirPort. Reddish brown with offwhite head. Malts, hops, yeast and spices.
Clear ruby-brown with a beige head. Sweet malty aroma. Taste is a blend of malty sweetness, some faint fruity notes, some spice and a very light bitterness. Not too sweet, complex. Quite drinkable.

Sehr interessante rot rotbraune Farbe mit gutem, kräftigem Schaum. Feinperlig. Geruch mit Cherry Aromen aber nicht sprittig. Antrunk sehr kräftig, recht säuerlich. Aber die 10 VOC kommen dann schon etwas zum Vorschein. Auch hier wieder Cherry Noten. Im Abgang etwas röstig-schokoladig, weiter mit angenehmer Säure. Kaum Hopfen. Insgesamt sehr erfrischend für einen fast-Barley Wine, Ein wirklich leckeres Bier!
Bottle in Brussels. It pours deep brown with a thick beige head. The aroma is rich, sweet, brown bread, toasty grain, treacle, spice, dried fruits, date and prune. The taste is bitter - sweet, sticky, slick, oily, brown bread, fruit cake, prune, date, glacé cherry, spice, tannin, stewed Black tea, candi sugar, vimto and some alcohol warmth through the finish. Medium - full body and moderate, prickly carbonation. Punchy. Perhaps not much depth, but really it's not bad.
Heerlijk stevig donker biertje met licht zoetige afdronk. Erg lekker! Kom je niet veel tegen.

I have found this Grimbergen at De Siebenthal Boissons shop, Montagny, close to Yverdon. I tried this beer, yesterday at home, Lausanne. Number of the bottle A 63550835, best before 18.06.18. Since, I long time that I was expecting to try this beer. Grimbergen is a huge business, but this beer is more discreet than the Blonde or Wit version. It is a typical quadrupel beer, not so far than a Rochefort 10. This one is good, but I prefer a Rochefort 10 that it is more subtle with the aromas. The body is red and brown, slightly troubled, white and brown foam. The carbonation is regular for the style. The taste has directly an attack with the alcool, warm and generous. You have huge notes of red fruits, plum, apricot, pear, sugar grapes, porto, a lot of fruits, this one could be amazing for the autumn, malt, Belgian yeast, hop. At the final, the taste is a bit hard, even though it is a good one to be an industrial beer.

Smak: głownie smak słodów jakby melanoidyny oraz troszke w tle śliwka suszona. Goryczka nie ma prawie, nie ma też prawie słodyczy . Wysycenie wysokie, alkohol trochę wyczuwalny wytrawny finisz, ciało średnie tekstura trochę drapiąca
Copenhagen 16/3 2018. 33 cl bottle from Ølhandleren from Hørning. Brown version of Grimbergens usual design with a Phoenix on the label. Pours clear dark amber with small white head. Settles as 1 cm thick layer of stable dense foam. Substantial lacing. Aroma is intense and rather sweet. Dark sweet, sugar marinated fruit, sour notes and slightly metallic boozy alcohol. soft yet prickly carbonation and thick, oily texture. flavor is heavy sweet followed by lighter sour bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet and a little spicy. Lingering. My first taste of Grimbergen's take on a Quadruple. Not a bad beer - but a tad too much on the sweet side - and a bit one-dimensional.
Dop van het flesjes af en je ruikt gelijk de alcohol. Hmmm. Daarna inschenken, schuim verdwijnt snel. Resteert de smaak van alcohol. Niets van wat je van een Quadrupel verwacht. Sporen van kersensmaak, zurig. Port ? Is dit bier ? Halverwege door de goot gespoeld. Niet fraai. Je doet er alleen een dakloze op een vriezende winterdag een plezier mee.
330ml bottle. Pours dark brown with a medium head. Aroma is raisin, caramel and alcohol. Taste has heavy toffee, caramel and molasses. Some coffee on the finish.
Helder donker rood koperkleurig bier met beige schuimkraag. Geur: zoet, mout, wat melkchocolade, Sultana bar, licht fruitig zuurtje, wat framboos, wat hout en een vleugje leder. Smaak: moutzoet, karamel, melkchocolade, Maltesers, fruit, wat rozijn en pruim. Goede koolzuurprikkel. Medium volmondig. Afdronk: licht zoet en licht bitter.
Suszone owoce, karmel, przyprawy, alko. Sporo ciała i słodyczy jak na styl. Delikatnie kwaskowe, nieduża goryczka, wysokie wysycenie.
Butelka 0,33 l. Wypita 12.01.2018. Barwa miedziana, klarowna. Piana biała, bardzo gęsta i trwała. Aromat bardzo słodki. W smaku już ta słodycz jest trochę przełamana, bo wchodzi cierpkosc. Słodkość umiarkowana. Dużo ciemnych owoców, rodzynek. Całkiem przyjemny Quad.
Reddish brown with a small compact head.
Smell of herbs and roasted malts and caramel. The beer is unexpected fruity, amost sour. Red fruit and raisins, supported by hops and alcohol make this a nice beer but it lacks some body. The Aftertaste is OK and lasts.
