Grisette Blanche

Grisette Blanche

Grisette Blanche belongs to the rich family of Belgian white beers.
It is therefore very refreshing in summer.
However, it remains a full-bodied, savoury beer offering lots of contrast.
Its head is typical of wheaty beers - creamy and compact - with an opaque, hazy appearance.

3.0 Flasche in Belgien.
3.7 330 ml can into pint glass, canned on 3/27/2018. Pours moderately hazy/cloudy pale golden yellow color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with solid retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Good appearance. Aromas of big lemon, orange peel, pear, red apple, melon, coriander, peppercorn, clove, light banana, wheat, cracker, white bread, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. A bit too fruity/yeasty/spicy aromas. Nice aromas with good complexity and solid balance of fruity/spicy yeast, spices, pale/wheat malts, and light earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of lemon, orange peel, pear, red apple, melon, coriander, peppercorn, clove, light banana, wheat, cracker, white bread, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Mild herbal/floral/grassy hop bitterness and peppery yeast spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of lemon, orange peel, pear, red apple, melon, coriander, peppercorn, clove, light banana, wheat, cracker, white bread, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, spices, pale/wheat malts, and light earthy hop flavors; with a nice malt/bitter/spiciness balance; and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Fairly crisp/clean finishing. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitter/spiciness. Medium-plus carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/silky/grainy, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.2%. Overall this is a very good witbier. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, spices, pale/wheat malts, and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth, refreshing, and fairly crisp/clean to drink with the mildly bitter/spicy/drying finish. Very flavorful and not watery for the ABV. Well balanced classic Wit yeast complexity, spices, and pale/wheat malts; with mild earthy hops. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.
3.0 Came in a can. (I'm suspicious of Belgians in a can, new owner or at least influence from the importers/distributors.) Regardless, seems to be an average wit to me from a brewer whose ales I drink often and whose bulbous glass I adore.
3.3 Tap, ADT. Nearly clear yellow with a thin white head. Orange, coriander, wheat, yeast. Medium carb. Zesty, lingering, spiced finish. Nice.
3.4 Sampled from a bottle at a bar near the hotel in Taipei. Cloudy yellow colour with a white head. Taste is wheat, with notes yeast and lemon and hints of coriander. Some complexity and a reasonable mouthfeel. A decent Wit but not stunning.
3.9 Can from Boise Co-op. Poured into a St. Feuillien trappist glass, looks gorgeous, hazy golden with thick creamy, fizzy head. I get so turned off by poor witbiers, that I underappreciate the style. This one makes me see what I'm missing. Soft, gentle grainy aroma, touch of Belgian yeast. Taste is lemony, yeasty, bready, super delicious and easy on the palate. Superb.
3.4 Can from CBC Belmont. Pale cloudy yellow orange with small head. Strong orange aroma with coriander and wheaty tang. Strong orangy medium sweetness with some grass and wheaty, more orangy than wheaty, with light spicy orangy finish. Medium-light body, fairly soft. A little too orangy for my tastes. Slight letdown because I usually love this brewery.
3.3 33cl can. 5.2% abv. Pours a hazy gold, fluffy white head. Aroma is coriander and orange peel, bright and citrusy. Flavor is dry and citrusy, almost bretty I would say, creamy milky wheat body, lemon. Its decent.
3.5 Naprawdę przyjemny Witbier. Dość mocno nachmielony, z dużym udziałem pomarańczowej skórki. W porządku.
3.4 It looks more like a pale ale than a witbier, although it shows the typical wit aromas of yeast and citrus, especially orange peel, in addition to some spices -cumin and coriander-. In mouth, bread, yeast and citrus, light body and extremely easy to drink in large quantities.
2.5 On tap at Easy Beer, pours a hazy blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out light floral notes, earthy Belgian yeast and a touch of coriander. Flavour is fairly vegetal, with light coriander, vegetal notes and biscuity malt. Soft, floral and rather vegetal. Meh.
2.8 Pours clear yellow with a lasting, small, foamy, white head; little lacing. The aroma contains coriander, clove, wheat, yellow apple, lemon. It tastes light to medium wheaty sour, bit citrussy, and light hoppy/grassy bitter. Dry, grassy, wheaty finish. Light to medium body, watery texture, soft carbonation. Somewhat cliché.
3.4 Pours a hazy golden yellow from the bottle with fluffy white head that dissipates to leave moderate lace. Aroma of nice citrus and light spice undertones with a sweet wheat throughout. Taste follows, a wit bier through and through. I am a little disappointed because I thought I was getting a traditional grissette, but it is a solid wit.
3.1 Draught @ Albion. Cloudy pale yellow with creamy white head, hay aroma, high carbonation, sweetish doughy taste, thin body, abrupt finish. Refreshing, easy to drink.
3.3 Cloudy yellow, stable head, Zesty and peppery nose with some malty notes. Dry and tart. Good.
3.0 Draft to taster at Dutch's from notes (9/2017). Pours a hazy golden color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma and flavor have pale wheat malts, yeast, mild citrus, light spices, boring.
2.7 On tap. Hazy, pale yellow body with an average, frothy, white head, mostly lasting with nice lacing. Moderate malty and hoppy (citrus) aroma with notes of spices (coriander). Moderate sweet flavour with light sourness; short sweet finish. Light-to-medium body with watery texture; soft carbonation; light astringency in the finish.
4.0 Muito boa. Refrescante.
3.5 On tap at Tor Bar in Tokyo. Light in color with very little head. Peach and soap on the nose. Peach lingers on the taste and palette. Overall a tasty, drinkable beer.
3.3 On tap at Biercab. Hazy golden colour with white head. Wheat and floral, perfume aroma. Sweet, wheat, floral, meat taste. Medium body.
2.2 Bottle from LDW, Eke. Hazy yellow colour, white foam. Bready and malty, notes of citrus. Bit spicy, coriander? Not the best witbier.
3.1 Draft - Perfumy wheat notes. Cloudy yellow with a rich white head. Pedrumy, wheat and a light finish. Decent.
3.3 Розлив. В аромате кориандр. Тело пустое. Вкус водянистый. Слабый бланш.
2.9 250ml bottle. Cloudy, yellow-ish, pale golden colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Initially pungent, spicy aroma, notes of lemon zest and coriander, a touch of lime, wheaty background. Taste is moderately sweet wheaty and fruity, notes of apricot, mandarine, a spicy touch of coriander; watery passages, prickling carbonation.
3.4 25cl bottle, pours hazy pale yellow colour with a big creamy egg white head. Aroma of citrus fruit and some soap. Flavors of malts, citrus, pineapple, orange zets and hints of white pepper. Very nice a refreshing.
3.3 0.33 bottle. A hazy, pale yellow color with a small, white head of normal retention. Aroma of bubblegum, spices, and yeasts - surprisingly simple but pleasant. Taste of bubblegum, vanilla, yeasts, spices, and a mix of few other elements which I find hard to distinguish. A medium body, a slick texture, and an average carbonation. Finish is long and exactly the same as the flavor. Overall it is a decent if standard beer.
3.1 Helles trübes gelb üppiger schaum, Geruch recht klassisch koriander und citrus, Geschmack recht fruchtig auch koriander und recht hefig, nicht schlecht
