2.9 Blik thuis geprobeerd me Roelzie.
2.4 Can. Gold with a thin head. Aroma of grainy malt, flavour similar, not the worst.
2.1 Golden coloured lager with a small white head. Aroma: metallic and malty. Taste: malty, cooked vegetables, metallic and some bitterness.
2.4 Blikje thuis gedronken. Weinig smaak, iets hoppig. Geen nasmaak.
1.9 Goes well in the tradition of Dutch Lagers. Easy to drink, not too many outstanding flavors that one could like or not like. Pretty mainstream, easy to drink. Had it under the label De Klok.
3.2 Prima biertje, loopt mooi naar binnen. Schuim kraag ietwat flets en is snel verdwenen. Drinkt in orde
2.2 25/VII/17 - 50cl can from a Dutch supermarket (either AH or Jumbo) @ holidays - BB: 30/XI/17 (2017-1121) Clear pale yellow beer, creamy irregular white head, pretty adhesive. Aroma: malty, grains, not much else. MF: soft carbon, medium to light body. Taste: lots of grains, pretty bitter, bit sweet, fruity touch, nice bitterness. Aftertaste: bit malty, little sweet, grains, citrus, very metallic and bitter finish. Not a fan...
2.6 Sampled from 0.33 l can as ’De Klok Bier’ at 4.8 % abv, purchased at ’AH XL’ (Roermond), best before November 2017. Clear, golden yellow with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, white head. Slightly sweetish, grassy aroma of straw and some grains. Slightly sweetish, moderately bitter, grassy taste of straw and grains, followed by a short, medium dry-bitter, rather grassy finish. Medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Decent, crisp Pils, hoppier than most of its fellow cheap Lagers.
1.9 At home from bottle as De Klok which is aliased as Grolsch Premium Blond which is aliased as Grolsch De Klok Blond. What a ride. Now with 35% Korting. Weggooien is zonde-sticker. Clear yellow golden with thin white head. Sweet malts, plastic, grass, artificial sweetener, cardboard juice. Light sweet and bitter. Thin body and soft carbonation. Light maltiness. Bit dirty dishwater in the bitter finish.
2.2 On tap, Graveney and Meadow SW17 as Grolsch Blond at 4%. Not really sure if these are all the same beers, this one seems designed to compete belatedly with Becks Vier and Stella 4. Very pale yellow, slightly corny malt, fruity, hint of lemon almost shandyesque. Hmm tasted interesting at first but a bit artificial.
1.9 Bottle of De Klok Bier from Netherlands. Pale straw coloured with a thin white head. It has a gentle grassy and lemon flavour followed by a floral fruity finish. Pretty bland.
1.7 Average lager appearance, aroma and taste. Aroma is a bit light. A little bitter aftertaste. High carbonation in mouth.
2.6 I have a love-hate relationship with this beer. It was marketed as a tribute to the old De Klok Brewery of Groenlo, Netherlands. Opening the can, aromas of metal, rotten cereals, cardboard, malts. Pours a bright yellow/golden pint with a medium and quickly fading head. Taste is bitter, bread, hint of grass and faint malty. Quite enjoyable, but nothing spectacular. Not good when compared to A-class Pilsners, but when sampled objectively, not a bad beer. Quite enjoyable actually. That being said, this can of 0,5l only costs 0.55euros, and in that price class, it stands lonely at the top. Compared to other cheap beers such as Pitt and the local supermarkets housebrands, this really is the best pick. Good for when you feel like not being too picky and just enjoying a cheap and beer-filled evening.
3.7 In spite of this being a budget beer, it is still extremely enjoyable and actually has a good taste.
1.9 Pale lager made in memory of a former Dutch brewery, tasted from 50 cl can bought at a Deen supermarket in Lelystad. Coarse and loose, off-white, opening and eventually dissolving head over a pure yellow golden coloured beer with medium fizz, cristal clear. Aroma of sweaty, sourish cereals, fermenting grass, wet cardboard, raw potato, rotting flowers and something vaguely sulphuric in a chemical kind of way. Neutral onset, some dull sourish grains, dryish with more limited maltose sweetness than average for the style, low carbo for the style as well, lightly oily but otherwise watery mouthfeel, light grassy hop bitterness sticking to the root of the tongue for a short while and drying the finish a bit, but this drying effect is just as well due to the soft but ongoing grain sourishness. I do not know what kind of lager the original Klok made, but it is hard to interpret this below average example of the style as a tribute...
2.2 Clear golden color with a fine white head. Weak malty aroma. Medium body and a fine carbonation. Malty, grainy and some vegetables in the flavor. Nothing I will recommend. [Can from Boni in Odijk, Holland]
2.8 Nice blood cheap bier that you can enjoy watching a movie. 4.8% alc. Light and goes with food
2.3 50cl can at home. Pours a clear golden colour with a medium soapy white head. Aroma of malt, cardboard, pale malt, slight grass. Taste is medium sweet, moderate bitter with a moderate dry finish. Notes of pale malt, caramel, cardboard. Texture is oily to watery, light bodied with moderate carbonation
1.5 Just that pilsner appearance. The smell is boring and almost abundant. There is a hint of sweetness in the smell. The taste is bitter and has a sourly hint. Quite nice but not special.
2.5 Helder lichtgeel bier met schuim. Smaak is licht bitter en zacht. Best een goede dorstlesser. Smaak blijft redelijk lang hangen, echter helaas iets te waterig.
1.9 small smaple from 50cl can. golden yellow colour with a white head. grains, metallic hints, grass, malts, some citrus corn, plastic, watery
2.2 A regular lager to go along with a meal with friends. Not much to point out on a rather simple beer.
2.0 Watery taste, thin body, no special taste notes that could trigger your palate. A very anonimous beer… They say, this brew was created in order to honour the old ’De Klok’ brewery - but they do not have much honour of it as it seems… Well, it looks like a private label from a discounter, but it tastes worse…
