Belle robe or sombre, profonde et limpide, belle mousse assez fine, plutôt tenace (1cm), carbo abodante, aux bulles fines qui montent assez vite. Nez très rond, avec un fort bouquet d'épices, et des notes de levure, ainsi qu'un petit côté miellé. Attaque ronde sans excès, aux mêmes épices que le nez, mais avec le côté miel qui ressort beaucoup plus. Rapidement en deuxième bouche, une amertume herbacée assez vive prend la bouche, soulignée par les épices. L'alcool se sent au palais et en gorge, même si elle a été servie très froide. Amertume persistante en finale. Très sympa, même si l'amertume est un peu hors style, c'est la typicité de la brasserie.
Golden, slightly hazy with a thin white head. Taste is yeast and grain, very mild booze. Rather mild after all, not much of an ‚inferno‘.
Fles 33cl thuis. Yeasty, kruidig, wat banaan, geel fruit, pepertje. (29-2-2020).
Zacht biertje
Pours a clear golden amber coloration with a large, fluffy head. Smells of quite sweet, doughy, slightly grainy malt, honey, floral hops and light accents of fruity/spicy estery yeast and herbs. Tastes of quite sweet doughy, slightly grainy malt, strong floral hops, some additional honey sweetness, light fruity/spicy estery yeast notes of green apple and clove and just a hint of herbal accents. Finishes bittersweet, with a light bitterness and some floral hops and estery yeast lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
Not sure what to make of the last beer in this trilogy, as it seems less well-balanced and is also brewed with hops, meaning that I have to judge it as a Tripel, rather than a Gruit. Not sure why they decided to use hops in this one, which just add a rather strong and somewhat displaced floral quality to this, which even kinda overshadow the estery yeast notes which really should be the stars of the show here. It's alsoeven sweeter than its counterparts, with a somewhat lighter herbal presence, while I would have expected more spice, perhaps some chili from the name.
Bottle from Lekkerbier, Sint Nicolaasga. Aroma is ripe/dried fruits with sweetish malt, yeast, notes of prunes and figs, some banana, spicy notes. Sweet, bit sugary flavour, light sticky. A little above medium body. Not bad.
Strong, spicy and slightly unbalanced.
Still interesting tripiel.
Pours a darker gold with a nice texture head. Lovely malty aroma and some spice on the nose. This beer is moderately carbonated and has a full mouth feel, moderate with some residual sweetness and a warmth that lasts. I’d definitely drink this again!
Gekocht in de Prik&Tik Bierhandel De Picker in Zele op 23-05-2019. En thuis geproefd op 5-10-2019. Inferno is een helderblond biertje dat bij het uitschenken een normale hoeveelheid wit schuim produceert in de vorm van een gelijkmatige laag doorspekt met grove belletjes. Het blijft sterk aan de glaswand kleven en is tamelijk stabiel, het duurt toch een tijdje voor het schuim verworden is tot een dun laagje. Er is veel CO2 pareling merkbaar met fijne belletjes.
HET AROMA:
Licht kandijzoetig met ananas, citrus, mout en een vanille toets
DE SMAAK:
Zoetig met wat hopbitterheid, citrus en pompelmoes en nog wat moutigheid.
HET MONDGEVOEL:
Medium body met een bitterdroogje, een stoffige textuur en een normale koolzuurprikkeling. Het kruidige en het bittere vechten hier voor de overhand, een onevenwichtig biertje dus.
DE NASMAAK:
Vloeit lang uit, nog steeds wat mout, tezamen met het hopbittere komt hier het kruidige toch een klein beetje opzetten, min of meer in de vorm van wat peperigheid.
HET VERDICT:
Het is me onduidelijk of hier kruiden in verwerkt zitten, Inferno is namelijk het enige bier van de Gentse Stadsbrouwerij Gruut dat met hop gemaakt wordt. Komt die pepertoets in de nasmaak van de hop of/en van kruiden? Met een naam als ‘Inferno’ mag die kruidigheid wel wat sterker zijn.
Het hoge alcohol volume van 9° blijft toch wat verborgen.

Bière pression bue au Gentse Gruut à Gand. Blonde dorée limpide, mousse qui tient peu. Nez sur la banane, bouche sur la banane également, peu de goût et on ne sent pas trop l'alcool, vraiment pas mémorable.
Nach ein paar Jahren wieder einmal im Glas. Zuerst hätte ich mir eine Art Chilly- oder Gewürzbier erwartet, aber man bekommt ein durchaus feines belgisches Ale mit wunderbar usgewogenen Gewürzaromen und dazu einen leicht malzigen Körper. Alles schön verwoben zu einem Gerüst von süß und würzeig. Vom erhöhten Alkohol merkt man nicht viel. Alles hat seinen Platz und das Bier ist wunderbar süffig und ausbalanciert. So soll es sein.
Kolor złoty, lekko przymglony. Piana biała, wysoka, o średnim czasie redukcji.
Aromat typowo belgijski. Belgijskie nuty drożdżowe, przyprawowe, a to okraszone nieco słodką słodowością.
Smak jest nieco delikatniejszy, co nie znaczy że jest słabo. Podobnie jak wcześniej drożdżowość i przyprawowość typowa dla "belgów", delikatne akcenty owocowe (brzoskwienie, morele). Goryczka lekka, przyprawowo korzenna.
Alkohol bardzo ładnie schowany. Wysycenie wysokie, bardzo szybko zasyca, niejako zmniejszając łatwość picia tego piwa. Pełnia średnia. Tekstura piwa jest gładka, lekka.
Golden, light amber clear with a thin head.
Hoppy, grassy smell. Bitter taste with a fruity finish. Rich body and elevated carbonation. Usually Belgian strong blondes are sweeter, but it doesn't matter, this is a fine beer, like all the other four I drank from this brewery.
Very nice triple. Alcohol quite well hidden. Goes down well and i would re purchase.
Prik&tik Stockman Maldegem. Lekker: Kruidig, zoetig en iets bitter.
Pours clear golden. Aroma is malty, hoppy, citrus, bread. Taste is light for the abv, slight bitterness.
Bottle drunk at home. Clear golden appearance. Aroma is sweet and malt. Flavour is bitter, citrus, dry, hoppy and herbal.
Slightly hazy yellow orange pour with a big white head. Tobacco, leather and peppery, herbal spiced aroma. Softly bitter and medium to over medium sweet and a slight acidic aftertaste. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Don't know what to think of this, very herbal, medicinal.
Bier met een zeer specifieke kruidige smaak. Het bier is niet al te bitter en drinkt zeer vlot.
L'équilibre est le vrai point fort de cette Inferno de la brasserie Gruut. Une belle base maltée, relativement douce sur le biscuit, le caramel, la pêche, un alcool (à 9 %) permettant à l'ensemble d'avoir un peu de caractère, une amertume plus enlevée en arrière bouche pour un peu de fraîcheur et des épices pour réveiller vos papilles. Voilà un beau petit programme. Ses limites sont plutôt à trouver du côté de la complexité, qui reste somme toute modérée, tout comme la corpulence. Belle bière donc, sans que celle-ci en soit pour autant infernale ! En verre, c'est plutôt sympathique de plus avec un blond dorée limpide recouverte d'une fine mousse blanche. Le nez est sur les céréales et les herbes avec un alcool rehaussant l'ensemble sans être pour autant agressif. Simple mais plaisant. L'attaque est comme je l'indiquais au préalable, avec cette base douce relevé de cet alcool donnant de la force à l'ensemble (sans quoi, l'ensemble se serait écroulé). La deuxième est sur la lancée, avec une pointe d'amertume en plus, mais c'est surtout sur l'arrière bouche qu'elle s'exprime avec des épices et des arômes herbacés plus marquées. Le final permettra à l'alcool de devenir plus chaleureux. Relativement classique, mais bien fait.
330ml bottle brought back from the brewery. Hazy yellow. Soft and stone fruit aroma. Good amount of esters. Solid body, with a bit of bitterness.

A golden yellow-orange clear beer with a medium white head ; average retention and lacing. Herb, light grain biscuit-cereal, alcohol note. Medium dry bitter ; fresh wind ; sunny atmosphere ; light to medium sweet warming. Good body, light oily texture, soft gaseous, dry bittersweet warming lasting finish. Overall, very good !

Very nice fruity kick, some honey aspect, floral, bubble gum. Moderate sweet with light bitterness. Well balanced and enjoyable
Donkerblond bier met kleine witte schuimkraag. Ziet er qua kleur niet vrij appetijtelijk uit.
Weinig uitgesproken geur.
smaak van gist, alcohol ondanks zijn waterachtige smaak, beperkte afdronk.
De betere van deze brouwerij, maar geen enkele kan me bekoren.

Yeasty funky/tart/hay notes. Pale colour with white remaining head. Smooth/Velvety mouthfeel with slight hop bitterness, some booziness and some dryness.
On tap hazy yellow with a white head. Aroma of bread, yeast and spices. Taste is heavy sweet and light bitter.
