Guinness Dublin Porter

Guinness Dublin Porter

Bottle and keg; Filtered

Launched in September 2014.

Based on Guinness recipes from the early 1800s. This was a time when porter was the working man’s beer and after a long day’s work in Dublin or London, Guinness would have been a respected choice.

3.1 Pours very ark, almost black with a beige head. Intense flavour of roasted malts, very slight bitter note. Not too sweet. Has relatively high carbonation for a Porter, which I like. Nice one.
3.3 Bottle from a friend. Bready and maly, some dark bread. Not roasted att all. Light taste and body. Clean and easy to drink though.
2.7 Bottle 500ml. @ The Chris and Ruth's House, London. [ As Guinness Dublin Porter ]. Clear dark red brown colour with a large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, off-white to light beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, grain, bread, dark malt. Flavor is moderate sweet with a long duration, dark malt, chocolate, toffee - caramel, light bread. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20150807] 5-4-5-3-10
3.7 Appearance is dark with a tan thin head...expected for abv. Aroma and taste of toasted malt and light body but expected for style and abv. Overall easy drinking Porter...consistent with the style
3.0 500ml from bottle. Very light porter, almost watery. Aroma is scarce, but at least it is very drinkable
2.9 Bottle at Strange Pub, San Marino. Pours very dark brown with a dark maroon tint and a small beige head. Aroma of nut, chocolate, malt, roasted coffee and dark fruit. Medium sweetness and moderate roasted bitterness. Light body, watery texture, soft carbonation. Very easy drinker.
2.7 Bottle @ Strange Pub, San Marino. Nice head with good duration. Color is dark brown. Aroma and taste are roast malt, caramel, bread, hops and has a light watery and sweet finish.
3.2 Botella. O'Leary's. Black. Soft roasted maltiness in the nariz. Bueno. Sabrosa eta chella!
2.7 Bottle. Dark reddish brown colour with a relatively small tan head, nose is roasty and malty with notes of wet charcoal, motor oil and cane sugar, taste is roasty with only a little sweetness, a moderately dry finish and a quite watery palate.
2.5 Bottle shared with JMD on board Fridtjofen 14.09.17. Ebony. Pale brown head. Aroma and taste of roasted malt, tobacco and pine. Fizzy carbonation. A bit waterish.
Tynn smak helt uten interesse. Kort, vandig ettersmak. A waste of time and shelf space.
3.1 Home bargain buy had another golden ale 1st which was nice but this was a bit strong for my liking
3.0 Pours black with a thick foamy tan head that lingers awhile. Nose is dark roasted malt. Taste is mildly sweet. Medium body. Mellow carbonation. Average porter.
3.1 Flasche 0,5l: Kastanienbraun, Schwarz, deutliche Trübung, kräftiger feinporiger stabiler Schaum; in der Nase kräftige Süße, Malz, Malzzucker, dunkles Karamell, Vanille, deutliche Röstaromen, Kaffee, dunkle Schokolade, angenehme trockene Bitterkeit; würzig-trockener Körper, leichte malzige Süße, Röstmalz, Getreide, dunkles Karamell, kräftige Röstaromen, cremig, kräftige Kohlensäure, leichte Hopfenaromen, dezente Säure, Kaffee; angenehmer fruchtig-trockener Nachgang mit leichten Hopfennoten
2.7 Nice colour but very weak and watery porter from Guinness. No real finish to speak of, disappointing
3.2 Bottle, Tesco online. Dark brown, good white foam. Nice light abv brown beer, some light chocolate and toasty flavours, moderate hop to bitter, quite high carbonation. Decent and quaffable, hits the spot for a 3.8% smasher.
3.3 surprisingly weak porter from guinness. nowhere near as good as some of the other styles in this new range, but this is what i would call a session porter, if such a thing could be said. really easy drinking, but does kinda leave you wanting more.
3.7 Bottle of 50cl, in a Guinness pint glass (obviously); room-temperature. We’re in front of a extremely light tasted porter. The aroma is there, with the usual blend of coffee and aroma that characterized the Guinness house, but the taste fade rapidly in mouth. And that is, for me, the strenght of that beer : a light porter. That means that you can drink it without having a full breakfast in your belly to digest the ultra heavy taste and aftertaste of the usual porters. A good one !
1.8 Good colour and general appearance, delicate head with some lacing, but either I had it too cold (taken from fridge and left to stand unopened for an hour) or it just isn’t very good. Like watered-down stout. Somewhat woody taste on a fizzy palate with that distinctive mark Guinness salty liquorice edge. Disappointing, and given the excellent porter alternatives these days I shall avoid in future.
3.4 W aromacie ciemne slody. Po ogrzaniu nuty palone. W smaku lekko palony, goryczka do ciemnych slodów. lekko kwaskowy. Calkiem przyjemne, sesyjne piwo.
3.3 Bottle. Pours a dark brown liquid with a small head. Light aroma of dark roast with fruitiness, caramel, chocolate and charcoal. Low body. Dry and thin taste with slight caramel sweetness. Flavors of chocolate, roasted barley, licorice, some herbs and fruits. Balanced bitterness.
3.1 A light and unsophisticated porter. A touch of hops flavor with little aroma.
2.0 08.07.2017. 0,5l Bottle. Scandic Århus City. Black colour with a thin tan head. Pretty weak. Aromas of cold coffe and burnt sugar. Vety little flavours. Body is thin. Short soft bitter aftertaste.
3.0 Bottle from BevMo. Very watery up front. A little bit of roastiness. Some burnt malt and a hint of coffee. Fairly bitter. Not terrible, but pretty boring.
3.2 Nearly black, creamy beige head. Aroma has light roast, caramel and light choc. Roasted, caramely flavour. Ok flavourful but somewhat light and slightly watery.
3.5 Bottle. Pours nearly clear very dark brown with stable, creamy off-white head. Clear aroma of malt and fruit, with notes of yeast and roasty touches. Bitter, roasty flavour with notes of coffee, malt and yeast. Touches of hops and mild hints of dust. Estery and mildly acidic aftertaste with roasty touches. Tame but decent.
3.5 Refrigerated 11.2 oz. brown bottle from shrubber85 poured into a glass. Black with dark brown highlights and small beige head. Aroma is light dark malt, medium/light body, medium/light carbonation, and good small-bubble lacing. Taste is subtle dark malt and a little chocolate.
