Guinness Golden Ale

Guinness Golden Ale

Bottle: Filtered

The Brewers Project

Brewed with the finest hops, Irish barley, and a specially selected amber malt

A beautifully balanced ale with a rich golden hue. The subtle biscuit flavours of the malted barley perfectly complement the pleasing bitterness and delicate, fruity hop aroma, giving way to a refreshingly crisp finish.

3.0 Bottle from Asda. Amber in colour with a slight, off-white, head. Sweetish and slightly earthy digestive malts, with some citrus character, touch of leafy hop and moderately bitter finish. Ok.
3.0 Bottle. Amber/gold in color with a two finger head. Well balanced aroma and a nice malty taste.
2.3 500ml Flasche. Klar und golden mit mit mittelgroßer Schaumkrone. Brotiges Aroma. Leicht süffig. Leicht trinkbar.
2.7 500ml bottle at home. Pours amber with soft off white head, some lacing on the glass. Nose of caramel and slight citrus hops. Taste is similar with a bit more hay character. Thin mouthfeel and refreshing quick finish.
2.2 (backlog 2018-2) Saveur?/AHeyn-BE? - 500ml bb03/2018. - - Not all that bad as its ratings, but for all the Irish grain, there is very little else to boost or indeed present flavour here. Combined with the underattenuated lazy yeast profile and its dullness fast becomes a sipping chore. Slightly sweaty orchard fruit grains in aroma. Tastes like a 3rd runnings of fruit lemonade re-&overcarbonated. Hm.
2.9 Bottle, pours mahogany amber with thin off white head, aromas of sweet malts, medium carbonation, tastes of sweet malts, some citrus, rubbish enough to be honest
3.0 50cl bottle. A clear amber beer with a mid-sized most good lasting off-white head. Aroma of soft sweet toasted malt, caramel. Taste of soft citrusy hops, toasted malt, caramel, mid sweet malt.
2.1 Miedziane przejrzyste piwo ze słabą pianą. Aromat słodu, karmelu, lekko stęchły. W smaku słabo czuć chmiele, pierwsze skojarzenie to jakby gorzka woda. Strasznie wodniste. Nic fajnego, lepiej wypić bez jakichś specjalnych kontemplacji organoleptycznych.
5.0 Are you kidding me? This is sincerely the best beer I've ever had! Like, I mean so good, that it made me create an account on this site and rate it. It's so tasty, I'm so mad at myself I bought only one for home at Scotland. Really, this is the s#it and so I say as Me being born and raised Czech beer enthusiast.
3.3 Bottle. Bronzy amber coloured beer with a good head. The aroma is lightly roasted, and the flavour is lightly bitter and gently roasted with a touch of caramel. Overall an average bitter.
2.2 0.5 bottle @ Davies Court Slightly hazy amber with a cream-colored head. A delicate aroma of malts and some fruits. Taste is sweet, doughy, malty, simple. Light, thin, soft. Finish introduces some bitterness. Overall, really simple and really unimpressive.
3.6 330 ml bottle into pint glass, bottled on 10/6/2016. Pours slightly hazy deep orange/copper/amber color with a 1-2 finger dense cream colored head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of honey, brown sugar, bread dough, toasted biscuit, and nuttiness; with lighter notes of caramel, plum, apricot, apple, herbal, wood, grass, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of bready malt and light-moderate earthy hop/fruity yeast notes; with solid strength. Taste of honey, brown sugar, bread dough, toasted biscuit, and nuttiness; with lighter notes of caramel, plum, apricot, apple, herbal, wood, grass, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Very mild herbal, woody, grassy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of honey, brown sugar, bread dough, toasted biscuit, nuttiness, light caramel/fruit, herbal, wood, grass, and yeast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice robustness and balance of bready malt and light-moderate earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Slightly increasing dryness from bitterness. Fairly clean finishing. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy, and slightly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.5%. Overall this is a good standard English pale ale. All around good robustness and balance of bready malt and light-moderate earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; very smooth, clean, and refreshing to drink with the mildly bitter finish. Very flavorful for the low ABV. Clean bready English malt flavors; with restrained hop and yeast presence. Fits the English pale ale style perfectly fine, but comes off underwhelming. Slight touch of diacetyl noticed after I finished the glass, but well within style limits. A nicely enjoyable offering.
2.5 On tap. Pours a clear mahogany with lots of carbonation but only a light head. Aromas of grain, herbal hops and papery toffee. Mild flavors of biscuits malts and watery toffee.
0.7 One of the worst bottled beers I have ever tasted. You have been warned.Difficult to describe just how bad it was
2.9 Bottle from Jungle Jim's - Eastgate. CDAC MFROWHMLGL MBA MBSMOOTHSC MTSMF MTSBF MD. Good drinkable ale.
2.4 Bought as single from Sainsbury’s. Hints of malt and cinder. Lacklustre beverage won’t hurry back.
2.6 12 oz bottle from Tmoney99. Pours a clear amber color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have pale grainy malts, light biscuity, a hint of caramel, grass, herbal, more watery than the Hop House 13 lager I had before this, a tick.
3.0 Bottle. Amber pour with a thick offwhite head. Nose is mostly corn. Buttery. A little floral. Taste is bitter, a little caramel, Biscuits. Not too shabby.
2.9 Bottle from Ocado online. Pours amber with a small off-white head. Aroma of hop, biscuit, malt, fruit and flowers. Heavy fruity sweetness, moderate bitterness. Medium body, sticky and watery texture, average carbonation. Not so bad.
2.7 Single bottle from Bottles & Bitters at Sloan's Lake. Clear amber appearance with minimal white head. Aroma of lightly toasted malt and a touch of hops. Similar flavor, adding mild husky/grainy sweetness. Light body with a bland finish.
3.1 Part of the Brewers Project 12 pack. Grain, malt, light bitterness. Golden Ale a different style of beer than what I am used to from Guinness.
On sent l’expérience Guiness. Je trouve cette bière intéressante même si ce n’est pas la meilleure que j’ai bu. Pour accompagner un repas chaud lors d’un hiver froid. Bonne dégustation
3.0 Really unimpressive. I'm a huge fan of Guinness products, but this is thin on palate and lacks flavour. Some slightly fruity notes with a bit of honey, zest and a slightly biscuity, slightly bready finish. OK, but I can't recommend it.
2.7 Pours a light copper with a thick white head that leaves lacing. Nose is slight malt. Body is medium. Taste is the slight toast of amber malt. 11.2 oz bottle Bottled 2/9/17
2.5 Easy drinking and light like dry leaves. Pours golden with ok head. Light crisp and clean finish. Bottle.
4.4 With a nAme like Guinness it's had to be s good beer I loved the smell was beautifull the taste was lovely and crisp a fav of mine
3.1 Bottle that Dad shared - cheers! Clear amber with a light fizz and a middling cream-coloured head. A malt-led brew with caramel and a touch of lemon. Sweetish flavour. Basic, but I quite like the malt and it’s pretty mellow and drinkable. Better than I expected.
2.6 Draught at The Bridge Hotel, Newcastle upon Tyne as Open Gate Golden Ale, but same beer. Gold with slight head. There is a thin character to this, cereal malt note, weetabix, biscuity. Just okay.
3.0 Aroma is fruit, malts and beery. The flavor is fruit, malts, mild macro/adjunct and a beery bitter/sweet finish.
3.0 Bottle poured a clear golden amber with a small lasting creamy amber head. Aromas of graininess, earthiness and yeast. Palate was light bodied and smooth. Flavors of graininess, yeast and light earthiness with a smooth lingering grainy finish.
