3.1 330ml bottle labelled as Guinness Antwerpen Stout. Pours black with a nice thick tan head. Aroma: rich roasted malts, black coffee. Taste: light to moderate sweet & moderate bitter, deep roasted malt, light burnt note, some coffee & chocolate. Medium+ body with tight carbonation.
3.4 Pretty nice actually. I was expecting something less complex. Reminded me a lot of a porter. Would drink again.
3.7 Zwaar koffiesmaakje,apart
3.0 Excellent head with caramel-like taste and look. Beer notes are of oak, leather, coffee, pine, pistachio. Aftertaste gets mellow and only the coffee and chocolate notes remains. Excellent bitter/sweet balance. Not as good as the tap version.
3.1 Sort lidt tyndtflydende, beige skum som svinder hurtigt.
3.8 Guinness initially made for the Belgian market in the 40s, I found it in supermarkets in Italy. Abundant brown head. The taste is malty, kinda sweet, with a light roasted malt taste and lovely hops. Although higher ABV, it might even be more drinkable than the Draught one.
3.9 Large foamy light brown head stayed on a black still body. Malt, liquorice & metallic aroma. Medium bodied, smooth & lighter on the back with a tingle. Liquorice, malt, sweet berries & nutty tastes with a tangy finish.
2.0 Ok for bottled Guinness
3.5 11.2oz bottle courtesy of Headbanger, labeled as "Guinness Antwerpen Stout", poured into an English Pint. Color is black with good carbonation and a nice thick tan head. Aroma is roasted malt and black coffee. It has a full body with a crisp mouthfeel. Flavor is a deep roasted malt flavor that gives a slightly burnt note and faint bitterness. In the aftertaste a sweetness comes out of the roasted malt. Overall this is one of the better brews I've had out of Guinness.
3.6 Donker bier met overtuiging
3.6 Black beer, off-white head. Smells of toasted malt and a light spice. taste has a touch of dried fruit, malt, toffee some chocolate and it's a nice toasty finish to it too. Very decent.
3.4 Bottle. Labeled as Guinness Antwerpen Stout. Poured black with a foamy tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, minerals, tobacco. Taste was light bittersweet, chocolate, roasted malts, coffee,
4.0 Bottle from Mitra in Gorinchem, The Netherlands. The beer is black colored with a stable creamy foam. Carbonation is good. The aroma is malts, caramel, dried fruits, roasted malts, chocolate, coffee and light spiciness. The taste is full bodied and sweet malty, with dark fruits, cherries, roasted malts, raisins and goes to hoppy bitterness with chocolate, coffee and spices. The finish is pleasantly bitter, little dry with some alcohol and laurel. Very nice!
3.5 Look is the patented great Guinness stout look: deep dark color under a thick, tall, tan, cream head, with decent retention, leaving lots of strings and disconnected islands of lacing down the glass, forming a domed top to the head. Aroma is faint. I can coax out perhaps a little dark malt, that's about it. Disappointing. Taste starts out mild and dry, transitioning to a slightly sweet middle, and a dry, moderately bitter finish. The bitterness lingers into the aftertaste. The flavor is (fortunately) more pronounced than the aroma. Roasted malts with slightly sweet dark fruits, hints of chocolate, and a decent tannic bitterness. The aftertaste is rather nice, fruits with tannin. Mouth feel provides a good body with carbonation. Overall, a decent export stout, good flavor, decent body, weak aroma. IMO, not Guinness's best.
4.0 Bottle 0.33L. Pours black color with two fingers of frothy, light brown head. Aroma of sweet chocolate cake, dried dark fruits, roasted malts. Taste is sweet with chocolate and cherry touch. Finish is moderate bitter with notes of tobacco. Full body, oily texture, slick texture. Far away from Guinness Draught...
2.7 Bottle with a bit of age on it. Dark pour. Mild roast, a touch dry, just okay at this point.
4.0 Lasting CO2.Very smooth,a bit hoppy,malty.cream,chocolate.sweet and dry.clean,cannot taste the alcohol.
3.8 Aroma : Deeply roasted chocolate malt, some espresso coffee, sweet dark red fruits, hint liquorice a touch of burnt peat and some damp earthy hop. Taste : Great depth in this:- Smooth roasty dark chocolate malt bitterness, espresso coffee, hint of sweet plum & black cherries & some burnt smoky dryness on the finish. Excellent full bodied stout!
4.0 Lekker
4.5 Dark brown with a frothy, long lasting head. Smell of roasted malts with wood, coffee, chocolate and caramel notes. In taste a rich sweet coffee taste with a bitter hoppiness. A fine beer.
3.7 Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up at the big, local Tesco a year or so back. Pours deep brown with a creamy, tan cap. Pretty tasty, sweet, with toasted brown bread, caramel, light roasted malt bitterness, raisins. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Sweet, lightly sticky finish, with notes of chocolate, more toasted malts, burnt caramel, dried berries. Rather enjoyable.
3.0 Zwart bier met ruime Mokka schuimkraag. Koffie chocolade geur. Mout en bittere afdronk
3.6 Bottle at Piccadilly. Pours a dark brown to black colour with a small beige head. Aroma of licorice, brownies, coffee, dried fruit, lactose and vanilla. Flavour of leather, coffee, rye bread, grass, nuts, raisins and licorice- Has a slick mouth feel, mendium to full body, and a light bitterness. An upscaled Guinness with a sweet tone.
4.5 Very creamy and full of flavour. So much tastier than the Guinness on tap I tasted in Ireland.
