The unsurpassed Gulden Draak as dark tripel of 10,5% alcohol gets, after 25 years of growing success, quite an addition, the Gulden Draak 9000 Quadruple.

The extremely rich and complex taste sensation and the stable beer head can also be found in the Gulden Draak 9000 Quadruple. The sweet caramel touches, however, are still reserved for the Gulden Draak.
With addition of extra malt
The new recipe, on basis of 3 different kinds of malt added in a volume of 4 times the content in lager, provide the Gulden Draak 9000 Quadruple with a deep golden amber colour and a fruity scent. Together with the smooth and subtle sweet taste ensures this a wonderfully accomplished bouquet.

Just like the other specialty beers of Brewery Van Steenberge is the Gulden Draak 9000 Quadruple a beer of high fermentation with secondary fermentation. A wine yeast is used for the secondary fermentation, which also contributes to the grandiose taste.

It pours dark amber with an off white head. Head retention is very good. There are a lot of fruit aromas up front with plum being the strongest followed by raisin. There are some caramel and toffee notes. Yeast elements are also noticeable which gives it an earthly like quality. There are caramel and toffee flavors with the plum and raisins fading into the background. It has quite a bit of spice as well that wasn't noticeable in the smell. The yeasty notes give it an earthen like quality. The alcohol is also quite noticeable. It has a full body with a bit of heaviness to it. The alcohol warming is noticeable and pleasant. Overall, a sipping classic that provides a nice warming punch on a cold winter's night.
Bottle. Similar to Gulden draak but not as unctuous and with a lighter mouth-feel. Clear body unlike the original Gulden draak. This is easier to drink too.
Both great beers all the same.

Winne, melasa, przyprawowe w typie korzennym nuty karmelowe a nawet toffi. Przejrzyste, barwa bursztynowa, piana trwała, lacing obecny, ładnie się prezentuje. Goryczka zaznaczona, korzenna, trochę pestkowa. Bogate piwo, pełne, dość słodkie z kontrą goryczkowa.
0,33 l bottle from Lidl. Cloudy copper with a nearly two finger foamy head in the glass. Sweet fruity malty on the nose. Taste starts fruity, hop bitterness, alcoholic warming. Belgian sugar. Little bit sticky.

Słodowe, karmelowe. Sporo treści, ale trochę przyciężkie, bardzo podobne do białej wersji.
From bottle. Hazy copper color with thick head. Sweet aroma of Belgian yeast, molasses, raisin. Smooth, not boozy.
Bière brune, ambrée, avec une belle mousse couleur crème.
Le nez est gourmand, sucré et caramélisé, légèrement fruité.
En bouche, c’est clairement une bière Belge, puissante, ronde et épicée. Des notes de fruits secs sont aussi présentes. Très légère amertume sur la finale.
Dans le haut du tableau pour le style, mais pas tout à fait au niveau des meilleures.

Enjoyed: Poured from a bottle into trappist glass.
Appearance: Blurry copper colour with brownish shades, rich creamy head.
Aroma: Malt, caramel, spices, dark fruits, alcohol.
Palate: Medium body, gentle carbonation.
Taste: Malt, caramel, sugar, (dried) dark fruits, hint of alcohol, “warm” and sweet (alcoholic) aftertaste.
Overall impression: I am not a fan of sweet beer but I like this one. Sweetness isn’t predominant, it blends with other flavors. Alcohol is sensible but not in a bad way.
Bottle. Slightly hazy, dark amber color, fine white head. Fruity, spicy aroma. Dry, medium bitter taste. Honey malty, spicy aftertaste. Medium body, high carbonation.

Bière 33 cl récupérée dans une box. la couleur est dorée assez sombre qui tire sur le caramel, le nez est sur le malt, le caramel et la levure belge. La bouche est typique d'une bière belge mais extrêmement forte, on a presque l'impression de boire plus une eau de vie qu'une bière tellement c'est chargé, et pour autant cela manque de complexité pour être intéressant.
Bardzo dobre, mocno gazowane, słodkawe, słodowe. Ma lekki posmak puszki, który mi się nie podoba, mimo że to z butelki. Ale triple chyba bardziej mi smakował.

Bursztynowe, opalizujące, piana drobna, wysoka i trwała, zdobi lekko szkło. Aromat suszone czerwone owoce, dojrzałe owoce, nuty kardamonu i ogólnie belgijskie drożdże. Słodkie, owocowe z kwaskowatymi nutami suszonych owoców, lekko pikantne na finiszu. Powoli lekko rozgrzewa, jest jednak dobrze ułożone. Nasycenie średnie plus, ale miękkie.
Pleasant and rich aroma, containing marmalade, exotic fruit, pears, candy, and tutti frutti. Vinous also. Incredible taste! A complex blend of pears, apples, peppermint candy cane, mandarine, and Coca-Cola. Spicy, but well-balanced.

Bottle from Lidl, Hamburg - clear copper color, small white head. Taste is caramel, sweet. Heavily malty. Malt liquor like. Quite drinkable for the abv. But does that make a 3.8 beer? I doubt it. Okay, but there are far better quadruples out there.

WOW - packs a punch at 10.5 ABV but so nice and creamy you hardly notice. A bit on the sweet side but remarkable overall.

Im Geruch stark süßlich. Im Glas ein trübes bernstein mit feiner und lang anhaltender Schaumkrone. Der Antrunk ist vollmundig und süffig mit Noten von Marzipan, Banane und gerösteten Nüssen. Fein carbonisiert. Der Alkohol ist gut versteckt
