3.8 Enjoyed: Poured from a bottle into tulip/snifter glass. Appearance: Black colour with ruby reflection, rich head which soon fades to smaller on with nice lacing. Aroma: Roasted malt, chocolate, caramel, dark fruits / raisins, hint of alcohol. Palate: Full body, gentle carbonation. Taste: Sweet, chocolate, caramel, dark fruits / raisins, warm alcohol aftertaste. Overall impression: Quite heavy one, but still drinkable and enjoyable.
3.9 Medium roasted malt aroma. Dark brown color, big tan head. High sweetness and low bitterness, moderately dry finish. Too sweet for a stout. Full body.
3.9 I did not expect a stout)) A good slightly original copy of a dark Belgian ale. Light dark malts, a bit of caramel and burnt sugar, raisins, dried fruit, slightly lacking in body. But the perfect balance of everything in taste.
3.5 Bottle.Dark brown colour with medium head.Aroma of licorice and malt, nice roasted with hint of brown sugar and malt, nice mild spicy with smooth finish.
3.6 Bottle, 330 ml shared with Miro B and Max. Dark brown with beige head. Caramel, malty, sugar, bit cloying. Quite sweet. Medium bodied.
3.5 Slight toasty aroma with bread and caramel. Pours a dark brown with small wispy off white head. Rich caramel, raisin, prune like flavors with a slight toasted bread Full bodied with low co2, lingering sweet malty flavor with a bit of spice. Enjoyable brew. Taste more like a dubbel than a stout to me.
3.8 Aroma of dried fruits, caramell, liquorice and hints of coffee, wood, leather and spices. Deep brown to black with a tan head. Medium to heavy sweet and medium bitter. Medium to full body with average carbonation. Overall a very nice and interesting Imperial Stout.
3.7 Bottled 0,33L. Dark brown color. much fizzy and lively aspect, intence and foamy nut head of long resistance. Aroma is toasted with notes of dark bread, caramel, dark malt, tobacco. Sugary and caramel mouthfeel, notes of riped fruits, dark malt, smoked cereals, roasted.
Mycket gott!
3.7 Almost black beer, a head is medium and beige. Aroma has dried fruitness, some liquorice, anise. Taste has dried fruits, apricot, some liquorice. Medium+ bodied. Different approach to IS. Strong belgian nuancees with dried fruits and spicyness.
4.0 12 ounce bottle from Kasunick's in Pittsburgh. Dark as a moonless night, but too sweet for my taste.
3.0 Tel Aviv Craft Beer Festival 2022. Bottle. Clear brown. Alcohol, dried fruits, raisin, sweet, mild bitter.
4.2 BBT 05/2022. Dark brown color with beige head. Aroma of coffee, dark malt, honey, licorice. Taste, dark malt, honey, nougat, alcohol. Very Good. Maybe not clear IS, but very tasty.
4.0 Bottle at BBT 5/2022. Medium body, high carbonation. Not really imperial stoutish, feels like a classic quadrupel. Very good at that though. Lots of dark and dried fruits, moderate dark candi. Light cola-ish, caramel. Sufficiently complex, very well balanced. Subtly phenolic yeasty Belgian character. Very good.
3.9 Bottle at BBT 05/2022. Malty aroma and taste, roastyness, belgian spicy yeasty notes, medium bitter, light sweet. Full body, malty spicy bitter sweet finish. Good.
3.7 Bottle at Bratislava beer tasting 05/2022. Pours brown color, lightly beige head. Aroma of chocolate, cherries, vanilla. Taste is sweet, Belgian yeast, chocolate, cocoa, cherries, vanilla.
3.5 11.2oz stubby bottle from a sampler box, even a little dusty! No information about age or bottling. Nose rich dark roast with some sweetness and late-arriving red berry. Cola-colored pour, dark ruby in the glass with a large, dense, and non-fizzy tan head, reminds of a root beer float, very rocky and even Orvallish, spidery lace. Taste strongly sweet but not quite cloying, really taste the sugars there with the esters, lots of ripe or overripe fruit there, principally peaches with some plums, cherries, a little grape sugar, overall profile does remind one of Trappist excellence in esterification; swishes by the caramel and roast but very soft with very rounded low-medium bitterness, quite an attractive dance there, finishing and lingering cigarette ash after the mildest tobacco. Does have some chocolate tones. Thin, even watery body that barely manages to pass the digestibility test, low carbonation, low and slow-moving warmth despite the big alcohol is quite an accomplishment (still, despite the charms this is notably boozy). Definitely worth trying, a welcome and distinctly Belgian interpretation rather than an American. [2022.05.05: 3.5]
3.8 Bottle. Pours deep ruby-black with thick, light tan head. Roasted malt aroma with chocolate and some vanilla notes. Sweet roasted malt with chocolate, cream, and vanilla notes. Pillowy mouthfeel. Long, sweet finish with a touch of bitterness for balance. Really interesting (in a good way).
2.5 Sample at Tel Aviv Craft Beer Festival 2022. Clear brown. Malt, caramel, vinegar note, some fruitiness, sweet, alcohol.
3.1 Bottle at Tel Aviv Craft Beer Festival. Brown amber color. Caramel, esters, candy. Sweet, caramel, alcohol, esters, chocolate, prunes. Medium-bodied, sticky.
4.5 Dark brown. Smells alcoholic and strong. Taste is dried fruits, toffee, sugar, chocolate, coffee with a mild sweetness. This reminds me of a stronger version of beers like st bernardus ABT 12, Chimay Blue, etc. Lovely beer :)
2.1 At TLVCBF, Pours brown with a beige head, aroma of chocolate, dried fruits, sourness, flavor of chocolate, dried fruit, medium bodied
3.6 33cl fles. Donkerbruin bier met rode gloed en beige schuim. Geur: choco, chocolade, koffie. Smaak: koffie, chocolade, wat aards. Medium koolzuurprikkel.
3.9 On tap. Pours a dark brown with a thick tan head. Aroma of Belgian yeast, dark fruits, raisin, chocolate malt. Flavor of dark fruits, raisin, raisin soaked bread, chocolate malt, roasted malt, Belgian spices. Not really an imperial stout just a dark Belgian ale, fairly heavy but drinkable. 8/4/8/4/15 (3.9/5)
3.8 Bottle from Albert Heijn Leerdam. The beer is black colored with a stable creamy foam. Carbonation is good. The aroma is malts, caramel, roasted malts, belgian yeast, chocolate and spices. Taste is full bodied with caramel, roasted, dried fruits, banana and goes to bitter with yeast, chocolate and spices. The finish is dry, bitter and a little warming alcohol with chocolate.
2.9 Kolor ciemno rubinowy, klarowny. Piana barwy ecru, wysoka, trwała, o drobno pęcherzykowej strukturze. Umiarkowanie zdobi szkło. Aromat jest dość nikły, lekko palony (kawa), słodowy, melanoidowy z odrobiną nut owocowych (śliwka). W tle delikatne akcenty alkoholu. Smak łagodny, lekko słodki z wytrawnym finiszem i rozgrzewaniem alkoholu. Wysycenie niskie plus. Ciało średnio wysokie. Tekstura gładka. Posmak delikatny, krótki, słodowy.
3.6 Pours clear dark mahogany with a two finger, light tan head. Aroma is caramel, banana esters, Belgian yeast and roast. Taste is chocolate, caramel and banana, moving to roast and Belgian yeast. Finish is bananas foster.
3.4 Caramel, brown sugar, banana and chocolate. Hazy brown color with minimal sized tan head. Metallic, caramel and banana taste. Medium body, soft carbonation.
3.9 Pours deep dark brown with a fat and foamy tan head. Aroma is slightly sweet darkfruit with some nutty malt. Active mouthfeel; quite carbonated. Taste starts with toffee and plum, but shifts to a mild toasty (not roasty) bitterness. Very strong. This is more a strong dark Belgian ale than a true stout.
