3.7 Flaske fra Belgisk Bryg: Flott skum som på de fleste dubbel, men forholdsvis kortvarig. Smak av rosiner, malt, svisker og tørket fiken. Diskret alkohol. God munnfylde, lang ettersmak og farlig lett å like.
3.3 33 cl bottle @ home. BBE 22.09.2010, rated on 05.09.2010 Vertical with Gulden Draak. This one was worse. Deep ruby red colour with huge head. Aroma has raisins, some metal and vegetables. Flavour has raisins, some alcohol, hints of spices and vegetables. Decent.
4.3 Vintage 2008. Pours a hazy dark copper into the glass with a nice head. Lots of malt and dried fruit, touches of raisin, brown sugar, yeast, and dough on the nose. So complex. Wonderful flavor but it is a bit less robust than the regular Golden Draak which was a little surprising to me. Very good beer, I prefer the regular Golden Draak to this but it is still exceptional.
3.5 Bottle@home, 33cl. Head: creamy foam. Color: red copper. Aroma: malt, grass, hay. Taste: mild, sweet. Palate: a little watery, lasting. Overall: nice.
3.6 330ml bottle. Pours cloudy amber with an off-white head. Very sweet, caramel-like aroma with a hint of alcohol. The flavour is sugary, malty, caramel-like and has even a hint of bitterness. Sweet finish.
3.4 330ml bottle, vintage 2007/2008 (BBE 2010). Thanks Reksa! Pours copper orange with a large foamy head. Aroma of dark ripe fruits, malts, spices and berries. Taste is quite malty with some fruity notes and hints of berries and spices. Finish is spicy and malty with some light berry notes. Okay, but feels a bit cardboardy.
3.5 Bottle. Pours murky brown/yellow with a small yellow creamy head. Aroma of Belgian yeast, dark fruits, caramel malts. Very little difference between flavour and aroma. Similar to original.
3.7 Bottle. Frothy off-white good mostly læasting head. Amber colour. Heavy malty and moderate hoppy and yeasty aroma. Moderate bitter nice fruity flavor. Average moderate bitter finish. Creamy palate. nice.
4.1 Botella de 330ml. Copa Cáliz de westmalle. Saboreada en feb´12. Color cobrizo oscuro. Final seco y retrogusto afrutado –ciruelas dulces y frutos oscuros.Buena asimilación. 330ml bottle.Westmalle Chalice glass. Enjoyed on feb´12. Dark copper color.Off-white,large size bubbled, froth. Quickly dissipated crown. Sugar, toasted malts & notes of cinnamon to the nose.Flavors are sweet, malty, spicy with very subtle cocoa.Medium body, medium carbonation. Dry finish. Fruity –sweet plum & dark fruits- aftertaste.Nice drinkability.
4.1 2011 Vintage. 330 ml bottle. Purchased at 16th St. Pours reddish amber with light head. Malty nose with fruity notes. Caramel and wine flavors. Slightly sweet. Lower in alcohol that the standard Draak but still rich in flavor. A very good beer.
3.0 2009 vintage think may not age well.aroma and flavors are of belgium sugars dark fruits and very mellow.not bad just really over priced at 12 dollars a bottle.everything about this is just ok and it tastes a bit boozey for 7.5 percent.if your going to spend 12 bucks buy something else.
3.4 2008 Vintage: Pour is murky dark amber / brown with a frothy khaki head in this tulip. Nice retention, average lacing is present as well. Dominant dark fruits and caramel, and some belgian sugars. I don’t even see the point in this brew ; it’s not, like everyone says, as good as the fresher batches, so why bother aging it? The flavor profile mellows out to the point that its more muted, while the dark fruits have a slight souring feel. So more caramel, belgian sugar, mild bitterness, muted bready malts, more dark fruits... just not impressed at all -
3.2 Bottle courtesy of Lunch. Served in a snifter. 2008 vintage. Pours a medium golden color. Fairly thick with a bit of a white head. Not much lacing. The nose has a bit of sweetness and fruit with a touch of malt in the background. Flavor is fairly similar. Some caramel malt with some brown sugar. Semi sweet and a medium body. Low carbonation. Pretty good.
3.3 I was a little disapointed with it. Recently had the regular Gulden Draak and liked that one much better. Tasted of raisins and plums with a hint of spices. A little too carbonated and the flavors were muted. Not bad, but the regular Draak was better.
3.6 Pours light amber with a couple fingers white head. Light fruity aroma. Very strong red fruits. Little alcohol taste. Decent carbonation. Pretty good Belgium.
3.0 Vintage 2010 bottle. Muddy brown-amber with a tiny beige head. Aroma of caramel, ripe fruit, sugar, yeast, and alcohol. Taste is malty with a wine-like sweetness, boozy and ever so slightly metallic. Medium-full bodied without much of a finish. Not impressed.
3.5 Brown,beige head.Nose of plums,salty & sweet.Yeasty fruity palate,malty mid,medium alcohol heat,lightly spiced.
3.0 Bottle, BBE 09092012. Pours a dark, auburn amber with a medium, off-white, large-bubbled head. Aroma is sour and alcoholic with prune, dark cherries, sweet, syrupy maltiness. Taste is a bit sour as well. Malts, alcoholc, some dried fruit and spiciness, mostly caramelly maltiness. Palate is very carbonated, medium. Aroma makes you expect a lot, but the taste is just very one-dimensional.
3.7 draft at Blue monk, Buffalo. Caramel colored pour. Red wine aroma, raisins, other dark dried fruits, grapes add to solid aroma 7+. Sweet raisiny flavor, quad like features, taste a little dusty or old. Creamier mouthfeel. Pretty good
3.9 2009 vintage bottle on Christmas Eve 2011. Pours reddish brown with foamy tan head. Toffee, dark fruits, cinnamon, cereal. Moderately sweet with low bitterness. Better than I expected.
3.4 In bottle; aroma was somewhat sweet, poured dark brown. Tried this side by side with Delerium Noel and would say I enjoyed this beer more. Medium body, almost a carbonated feel and taste. No major notes stand out but a good easy drinking beer.
3.3 33cl bottle. Dark brown with frothy tan head good lacing and perfect lasting. Aroma is spicy dry fruits and alcoholic. Flavour is nutty brown sugar dense on palate with a long final bready buttery and moderate sweet. Carbonation is soft. Body is light. From my point of view Gulden Draak is much better than this one.
2.7 Aroma: kinda gross...grainy, boozey, faint spices and raisin bread. Appearance: Transparent dark amber with a chunky off white head. Taste: Spices, malt, some gingerbread and raisin. Kinda weak though...there’s a soury bitterness which doesn’t bode well with me. Palate: Watery, unbalanced, thin and a little awkward in the mouth. Overall: Not horrible but it could use a bit of refinement. Otherwise a bit too average.
3.8 Bottle from Asahiya. Plum, cherry, alcohol, caramel nose. A bit spicy, with raisin. Reddish brown with a tall head. Chewy choco and caramel, figs and raisins, some alcohol. Like a brownie. Tasty and chewy. Light enough but full. Very nice.
1.5 The beer has a beautiful appearance, and a nice white head with the foam sticking to the glass. It´s taste isn´t as strong as the normal guldendraak, but it´s quite good for a ´lighter´ beer.
2.7 Correcte i punt. Massa lleugera i sense cos per ser una bona cervesa de nadal.
3.7 Bottle vintage 2009. Color hazy amber with big head. Aroma cherries, alcohol, plum. Taste sweet, caramel, spicy, plum.
3.2 Like the ’normal’ Gulden Draak better. Smell and taste didn’t get any better with this one. -- Quick re-rate Dec. 20th 2014. Clear dark red color, cassis, dark fruits, something weird, lightly yeasty, lightly alcohol. Decent.
/8/8/9/fl/8
