3.8 Milde hoptonen. goede bitterheid. Bloemig van karakter. Schuim moeilijk te beoordelen. fijne doordrinker
3.0 Goudgeel, witte schuimkraag, helder. Aroma: Zoete pils mouten, graan, broodachtig en iets kruidige hops. Smaak: Iets zoet, iets prikkelig/kruidig en hop, graan. Degelijk pils... niets meer of minder.
2.3 Uit de fles geschonken. Vaalgeel helder bier. Aroma is licht moutig. Smaak is moutig, hoppig. Gewoon een lekker fris pils.
2.6 Light malt aroma. Pale to gold, thin head. Light to medium bitter, light sweet. Some bitter finish.
2.6 Bottle at home. Clear pale golden with white head. Sweet grain, manna, ground bitter, light dusty/cardboardy. Light sweet, under medium bitter. Thin yet some body, average carbonation. Nice pilsner, quite bitter. Bit sweet still though.
2.8 Aroma: fruity, bread, straws. Honey. Appearance: pale, clear, white foam, rocky head, small in size and disappears quickly. Taste: medium sourness, lightly bitter. Palate: light body, oily feel, average carbonation, abrupt finish.
2.6 Bottle at home. Clear golden with fizzy white head. Light sweet biscuity malts, fresh grain, bitter herbal hops and some soft fresh grass. Light sweet and bitter. Under medium bodied with slightly fizzy carbonation. I used to drink this all the time when it was the only decent organic beer around. Not great but it’s quite drinkable.
3.1 The new name of Limburgs Land, a pale lager Gulpener has been making for years, now branded as an organic beer along with a couple of other ones. Thinnish and loose, off-white head leaving a moussy rim on the edge, cristal clear deep and bright golden robe with calm sparkling. Aroma of soggy breakfast cereals, damp kitchen towels, chamomille, dried grass, white bread, sourish grains, old cookies, some cut garden weeds, old cloth or even cardboard, white pepper, some ’can’ iron but not exaggeratedly so. Sweetish grainy onset, simple and straightforward with a vague apple-like touch, very lightly bready with a sourish component, minerally but (especially for this style) softish carbonation, lightly oily mouthfeel, supple body, not overly metallic and ending in quite a fair amount of ’noble’ Hallertau bitterness, a bit peppery, leafy and earthy with retronasal dried flower and hay-ish qualities, balancing well with the barley sweetishness. Simple and grainy as any pale lager of course, but quite dry, relatively ’full’ and pure in its maltiness and sufficiently hopped, this is clearly above average in comparison with most (Dutch and other) macro pale lagers. No corn, not metallic effects and a noble, softly but steadily bittering German hop character: for once I can agree with its classification as a true ’Pilsener’ on this site, with even a somewhat German character (an influence that can be felt in several other Gulpener beers too and surely has something to do with the proximity of the German border). One of those rare Low Countries lagers I will recommend to ’pils’ drinkers over any of the industrial macro swill they normally resort to.
2.8 F: thin, white, quick diminishing. C: yellow, clear. A: grassy, grainy, light metallic, hint of caramel, butter. T: light malty, grassy, citrus, good bitterness, light body, average carbonation, 0,30l bottle from AH supermarket in Amsterdam.
2.7 Not bad for a pilsner. Not too sweet, nice malty flavor with soapy flora bitter hops. A bit boring. Not one to search for but no reason to avoid it.
2.9 Helder lichtgeel bier met schuim. Smaak is hoppig bitter en fris, echt pils. Helaas iets te zwak van smaak.
2.3 Goldgelb schäum ok, Geruch recht flach kaum Hopfen, relativ süffiger Geschmack metallische fehlnote
2.7 Clear golden beer, soapy white head. Nose is malts and some grassy malts plus papery notes. Flavor is mild sweet malts and noble hops. Finish has some bitterness to it. Simple, fairly clean, a bit bland, but not dealbreakingly so.
2.0 Bottle (from Stockmann, Tallinn). Pours clear golden with small white head. The head doesn’t stay. Aroma is grainy-cardboard, malt. Flavor is sweet, metallic, cardboard, grains. Overall: bad, but this gets higher score just because the previous beer I tried was such a horror.
2.4 Bottle from Albert Heijn Amsterdam drunk on a park bench. Not the worst pale lager but still quite vegetal. It’s got a few redeeming features but I still can’t finish a whole bottle. Some lemon on the finish.
2.9 herbs, hay, bitter, medium body, thin feel, lively, bitter finish, not very exciting but better than most simple pilseners.
2.8 Aroma: Grain, grass, sweet, hops; not really strong. Appearance: Yellow/gold beer with a lasting white head. Taste/Palate: Starts bitter-ish and gets sweeter fast. Grain and hops are dominant.
2.7 faint malt aroma looks clear golden little foam which sticks to glass taste malt some hops on aftertaste full bodied for a pilsner little carbonated
2.5 31-01-2019; bottle; at home (bought at Jumbo Supermarket, The Netherlands). The beer has a nice golden yellow colour. The beer is crystal clear. On top some frothy white foam is formed. Foam retention is low. Only a small drape is left after some time. Thea aroma of the beer is fine. Malts give some plain bread notes. The hops are nice and fresh, with some fruity notes and a crips herbal note. It is more intense than in regal Pilsener. I like it. It gives it a pure touch. Not bad. The taste of the beer is fine. Medium sweetness and bitterness, both well balanced. Not mega interesting, but far from bad. The palate of the beer Isfara fine. Medium-high carbonation, light body and slightly sticky texture. The finish of the beer is fine. It has some nice herbal hops in it, ending quite dry. Not bad.
2.6 15/V/15 - 30cl bottle @ the Abeels (NL) - BB: XI/2015 (2015-623) Thanks to the Abeels for sharing the bottle! Clear pale yellow beer, irregular white head, little stable, non adhesive. Aroma: very metallic, bit grassy, grains, hay. MF: ok carbon, medium to light body. Taste: very metallic, bitter touch, bit of citrus, grassy. Aftertaste: very metallic, medicinal bitterness.
2.6 330ml bottle. Clear golden color. Small size, white head, stays as a ring. Metallic, fish, grainy, slightly bready aroma. Grainy, slightly metallic hops, malty taste. Spicy hops and potatoes in aftertaste.
3.0 0,33l Flasche. Gelbes Pils mit kleiner Schaumkrone. Riecht nach Malz, schmeckt auch so, ganz Okay!
2.9 330ml bottle (Travellers, Tallinn) Pleasant grainy aroma, tons of barley. Pleasant grainy body too tons of barley. Finish has nice perfumey hops. Damn tasty bottled pilsner. If this hadn’t been filtered I’d probably have really liked it. Do like the grains, this is proper beer.
2.9 Bottle @ Vein ja Vine, Tartu. Pours clear golden with white head. Aroma is malty, grassy, some yeastyness. Taste is slightly bitter, some sweetness, grassy, slightly citric. Thin body. Hoped moor bitterness/hoppines for a pilsner. Drinkable, but nothing special.
2.9 Tap. Goudgeel mooie schuimkraag. Geur is moutig. Smaak idem. Niet uitgesproken
3.1 Organic! A slightly hoppy but otherwise run-of-the-mill pilsener beer. Creamy finish.
3.2 30cl flesje via Jumbo, Maastricht Alcoholpercentage van 5% Gedronken uit het flesje Pilsener conclusie: biologische wordt een beetje overdreven, maar mits op juiste temperatuur een lekker pilsje
2.0 Bottle sample at a tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks kerenmk. Pours pale yellow with a small head, aroma of honey, butter, flavor is bitter with malt and herbs, light bodied
