Pours black with a nice head and good lacing on the glass.
The aroma is cocoa & nice roastiness... sweet & rich with some mild dark fruit... plums maybe some raisin.
The flavor is lightly smoky, lots of dark fruit, fairly sweet but not cloying, good balance of bitterness & dark chocolate to edge out the caramel bitterness. Roasty, delicious. The booze is pronounced but well integrated.

On tap en Craft 19. Buena cerveza equilibrada y alcohol bien integrado, amargor medio que se nota al final del trago, escasa retención de espuma, no sé si repetiría por lo normal que es, aunque puede que últimamente esto sea una virtud.
Color negro con capa de espuma marrón de dos dedos de grosor y buena retención. Carbonatación suave. Textura oleosa. Aroma a melaza, azúcar, pasas, higos, bizcocho borracho, chocolate. En boca hay azúcar, melaza, chocolate, cacao, higos, pasas, licor. Mucho sabor y mucho aroma. Buen balance entre dulzor y amargor. Final de ligero amargor, ligeramente licoroso y torrefacto, con notas mínimas de café. Postgusto algo licoroso y torrefacto.
Intense aroma of roasted malt, oak, liquorice, chocolate souflle and subtle brandy. Full body. Very smooth texture and sticky mouthfeel. Taste is rich and complex with hints of roasted malt, liquorice, dark chocolate (90%), subtle brandy and cherry liqueur. Same follows in the aftertaste.
Bottle. Black pour. Aroma of chocolate, wheat, licorice, molasses and berries. Taste has molasses, chocolate, soy, licorice, dark berries and wheat. Thick sticky mouthfeel. Good beer.

De las mejores cervezas negras que probé, es ligera y no demasiado sabor a tostado. Para mi que no soy un amante de las negras entro muy bien.
0,33l bottle @ Vihreä Haltiatar. Pours very dark brown with a medium tan head. Aroma is sweet roasted malts with some chocolate. Flavor is sweet roasted malts, oats, chocolate, some coffee, hops. Excellent.
Lukt: salt, sjø, whisky fra de skotske øyer, soya, mørk sjokolade, dadler
Smak: mørk sjokolade, litt tobakk, hvete, litt rosiner, dadler
Delikat/elegant i smak og munnfølelse. Elegant og komplesk blanding av smaker. En "mild" eller forsiktig imperial stout.

Bottle from BevMo! in Menlo Park, CA. Aroma is dark chocolate, coffee, licorice, banana, herbal liqueur. Huge flavors of dark chocolate and coffee with hints of herbal liqueurs / licorice. Too easy to drink.
Aromă ușoară, cu multă ciocolată cu lapte, multă dulceață de fructe negre, liqueur cu ciocolată, note de vanilie și butoi.
Gust intens, moderat și plăcut dulce (dulceață de fructe negre și miere întunecată), cu puțin malț ars înăcrit, multă ciocolată neagră, amăreală arsă, note de vanilie și lemn ars.
Bună și bine făcută, destul de intensă.
Bottle at home, 1st October 17. Pours black. Aroma is chocolate, banana, yeast notes, spice, bread dough. Taste is like a German wheat beer, but hybrid with imperial stout, cocoa, liquorice, banana, grain, wheat, quite dry. Great take on an imperial stout, good job.
Czarne, nieprzejrzejrzyste, z ładną pianą. Aromat czekoladowy, kawowy (głównie) z nutami pszenicznymi. Smak czekolada z kawą, wszystko mega delikatne. Solidne naprawdę, ale dość specyficzne.
Very dark mahogany with a short-lived thin dark tan head. Notes of dark chocolate, smooth dark coffee, dark fruit, plums, dark cherries, a little bit of licorice, ash. Full body, intensely roasty, medium to low carbonation, smooth texture.

Extremely dark brown nearly black. Smell is sweet, awesome smokey. Taste is wonderful smokey, slight blueberry that lingers on tongue. Slight warming booziness in throat. Thick, full bodied. Fantastic.
Rather subtle (mean in a good way this time), semi-dry, licorice, coffee, dark chocolate, a bit of berry tartness in there, medium-low body, low carbo, but the latter actually work for this spin of stout
Backlog, Bottles in 09-10. This was one of our favorites back in the day. Pours a deep black color with a reddish tinted head. Notes of heavy molasses, coffee, roast, chocolate, grass, and dark fruits. Medium to fuller body with a lasting finish.
Dont remember where i bought it. In Teku glass. Playing Brothers a Tale of Two Sons. Nicely roasted. Hints of smoke, but much softer and pleasant than in others of their beers. 50cl of impy enjoyable from beginning to end.
500ml bottle. Batch 538, bottled on 2012-11-05, BB 2015-11-05. Pours an almost black with a dark brown head. Aroma is leather, some chocolate notes, roasted malt. Similar taste with some dark fruits and slight burnt sugar notes. Moderatly sweet. Slightly smoky aftertaste. Good stuff.

Wygląd: czarne, nieprzejrzyste, bardzo ładna dwucentymetrowa warstwa piany w kolorze beżowym, redukująca się po chwili do warstewki na powierzchni.
Smak: najmocniej czuć susz owocowy, taki świąteczny, są tu suszone śliwki, gruszki, jabłka. Dalej też mocno kakao, wędzonka, czekolada gorzka, kawa. Bardzo mocno palone, słody palone dają tu mocną i zalegającą goryczkę. Ciała sporo i dużo słodyczy, ale przez tą paloność balans przesunięty lekko w stronę goryczy. Na finiszu gorycz i wiśnie w czekoladzie. Wysoka paloność trochę mi przeszkadzała, ale piwo w sumie mi całkiem smakowało.
500 mL bottle shared by ebone1988. The pour is a darker black with a ton of sediment. There is a thick and silky light tan head that falls down slowly to a thick ring with a good bit of lace. The aroma is pretty intense. There is a strong roast up front. A thin milky chocolate brings about a bout of messiness that I’m not crazy about. There is a hint of smoke that just sucks. The flavor is much of the same. Bitter roast and a light smoke. There is a lactose and a good bit of chocolate. It’s light and bitter. Not really my jam. The mouth feel is decently thick with a softer carbonation and a lingering bitterness that I’m not digging. It’s a decent brew, but there are so many better.
Bottle shared with koleminer20. Batch 865. For the book. Aroma is roasted malt, sweet, wheat, slightly smoky, booze, milk chocolate, eh. Appearance is dark dark brown, light brown head: poured thin. Taste is dark fruit, smoke, roasted malt, coffee, slightly tart, weird. Mouthfeel is medium body, light carbonation, smoky tart dark fruit aftertaste. Overall, it’s a weird one.
W aromacie intensywny sok bananowy. Pachnie intensywniej niż niejedna pszenica. W smaku wytrawne, dalej bananowe, trochę drożdżowego kwasku, który nie do końca tutaj pasuje. Trochę za dużo chyba osadu wlałem do pokala, ale no trudno. Znajomy wyczuł tutaj żelazo, mi może mignęło przez chwilę, ale nie stwierdzę stuprocentowo. Na prawdę ciekawe, oryginalne, warte swojej (niedużej przecież) ceny.
