HaandBryggeriet Dobbel Dose

HaandBryggeriet Dobbel Dose

Retired for many years, relaunched early in 2023.

Dobbel Dose or Dobbel Dram is a double IPA made with european style hops rather than US hops. This beer is also heavily dryhopped in the aging tank
for the extra hop taste and aroma.

9% alc. 82 ibu and 22 ebc.
Made from Maris Otter malt, wheat malt and Crystal.
Serve at 10-12C or 50-55F. Goes well with spicy food and grilled meat.

American Bottle Label -- "Double Dram" is made with more of everything, including all the hops the Hand Brewery’s tiny brew-kettle can take. Feisty American hops for bittering are followed by noble Fuggles and Styrian Goldings for a spicy, flowery aroma. As tradition dictates, this is an exceptionally hardy brew, made to weather the long, hard ocean voyage to anywhere...

3.6 Bottle from Den Nordiske Ølhandel, Copenhagen - hazy almost cloudy amber coloured pour with white head. Aroma and taste tropical and citrus fruity, big hoppy and malty, caramel, toffee, orange, grapefruit, pine needles, good mouthfeel, hoppy bitter finish.
3.6 Gift from wife, she insisted I drink it blind (ie she soaked off the label and insisted I rate it before she tell me what I was drinking) What follows is from my notes: Copper color with white head. Fruity malty aroma. Heavy malt and dried fruit flavors, plenty of booze up front. Spicy bitterness that carries through to the finish. Lots of earthy bitterness lingers. A beer for those of us that like very bitter beer.
3.2 "Piney and malty sweet aroma and flavor...more so than I prefer but not bad. Dark and cloudy for the style. I still prefer the west coast or other hop bombs to this. Double IPas are for hop fiends after all, but his is not a bad brew."
3.4 Aroma of those sweet, sweet Norwegian hops. Very nice golden pour with a 2 finger white head, nice lacing. Very nice European IPA, has a nice sweet hop flavor with some malts and ABV burn backing it up.
3.4 Cloudy dark copper/amber with a boozy head. Aromas of slight fruity apples, toffee, caramel, zesty flowers. Flavors of floral hops, toffee, caramel and slight alcohol in the nose. More malty than hopppy. Medium to high sweetness. This may have sat on the shelf for too long. Medium bitterness.
3.8 Light irance colour, small white head. Aroma of candy suger, hops, caramel, toffee, rape bananas. Taste is light to medium sweet, medium bitter. Medium body, slick texture, average carbonation. Nice and different.
3.6 Cervesa bona, bastant equilibrada i gustosa. Cerveza buena. bastante equilibrada y sabrosa.
3.5 Bottle at home. Medium high fluffy lasting white head. hazy orange body. Sweet apple peach mango aroma. Relatively hoppy and yet sweet fruity flavor with a hint of alcohol. Low carbonation. Long dry finish.
Piana biała, drobno pęcherzykowa, obfita, utrzymująca się i ładnie oblepiająca szkło. Aromat: wyraźnie alkoholowy, nieco słodowy (zbożowy) oraz chmielowy (trawiasty, ziołowy, kwiatowy, nieco owocowy, cytrusowy, leśny). Smak: pełny, słodowy, słodki, wręcz gęsty. Następnie chmielowa kontra, ale goryczka najwyżej średnia. Posmaki cytrusów i owoców tropikalnych z lekko alkoholową końcówką.
3.4 500ml bottle from Vinmonopolet. Big frothy tan head. Clear light amber body. Aroma of malt, smoked wood and vanilla. The hops are not too present on the nose. Light bitterness which is felt mostly on the palate. Slightly sweet. Boozy aftertaste.
4.4 Bardzo dobre tresciwe slodowosci mnostwo, piana niestety srednia. Aromat chmielno trawiasty. Kolor przybrudzonej szarej pomaranczy.
(Jomfruland, 01.05.14)
3.2 Pours a dark amber with a medium white head. Aroma is toffee, spices, caramel. Similar flavours. Nice bitter with a little raisin in the finish. Moderate carbonation.
4.1 Dark amber colour, white medium head. Aromas of grapefruit, pineapple, pine and some rubber. Taste is both malty sweet, balanced with tough bitterness in the finish.
3.8 8/11/2010. From bottle. labeled as Dobbel Dram. Deep amber to copper color with a white head. Malty aromas with caramel, spices and hops. Flavors are caramel, citrus, light fruit with a hoppy finish.
3.5 Bottle 50cl. Medium white head. Clear peach pilsener color. Aroma of hops, rose leaves, berries. Taste is nettle, rhubarb, berries with a lot of hops.
3.4 Bottle from Hop City, Atlanta. Pours a cloudy brown orange, decent amount of off white head. Aroma surprisingly yeast forward, resin and caramel notes. Body medium lively, finish somewhat vegetal, like a green algae or something. Really nice.
3.9 Kobberfarget med offwhite skum. Lukter godt humle, appelsin og sitrus. Medium kullsyre og god lang bitter i ettersmak. God!
4.0 Nice and potent imperial from Norway, bottle from Brewer’s Haven. Cloudy orange/amber in color with lasting creamy, but stiff, head. Hops in the aroma, but even more so in the taste. What a kick! Surprisingly smooth, but with a punch and touch of alcohol warmth.
Bitter grape i smaken.
3.9 Poured from a bottle. Batch 276. Bottled on 22.04.10. Pours an amber orange with a fluffy head. Lots of aroma. Citrus and some floral. Not too bitter. Some odd flavor in reminded me is cured ham. Very malty. Somewhat sweet and medium bodied. Nice beer.
4.5 Batch 528, brew 12.10.12. I live the label, fingerprints on hops plants. Pours a slight off head, which hasn't dissipated at all. Huge aromas like suggested thanks to dry hopping. Lemon zest, mandarin, floral. On first taste I'm getting smokey flavours, and fruity, slightly dry mouth after and the bitters arent coming through. I'll let it sit and warm then I'm sure they will.-- rated via 'Find A Beer' for Blackberry 10
3.1 Flaska från Vinmolopolet i Norge. Bärnstensfärgad grumlig vätska. Citrusig doft med maltsötma.

3.1 Rated on 9-21-2009 (Bottle - Batch 150 Brewed: 05.04.08 Best Bef: 05.04.11) This beer forms a small beige head that quickly dissipated, hazy orange golden body, visible carbonation, and virtually no lacing. The Aroma is wheat malt, spicy, and floral hops. The Taste is sweet, fruity, spicy, and floral hops. This beer is light-medium bodied. Overall, this beer is not very hoppy for the style and something is just off with the taste of this beer. The flavors just do not mesh together at all.
3.6 500ml bottle, batch 434, cloudy amber-orange hue, with a small bubbly white head, with a mild yeasty, doughy, orange marmalade, soft floral leafy, piney, citrus hoppy nose, with an orange lollipop, flower petal, zesty lemon rind accent, with a faint honeyish wheat, pale, toasted malt, panettone cake note in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a warmth yeasty, zesty orange rind, orange marmalade fruitiness, flowery leafy, grassy, minty, citrus hoppy character, with some candied peach, orange, tangerine, lemon peel, mint, orange lollipop flavours, with a faint honeyed wheat, pale, toasted malt, panettone cake, lemon, lime pie undertone, leading towards a warming, yeasty, candied orange peel, zesty citrus, leafy, minty, grassy hop bitterness finish.
3.7 Bottle at mane liquor. Pours a golden murky/hazy pour with a white head. Stone fruit and peach heavy on the nose. Biscuit malt and booze also prominent on the nose. Taste is very fucking chewy. Loads of bitter malt, biscuit and stone fruit. Over a year old, this drop holds up well. The booze is pretty well hidden too
