4.1Bottle at home... Deep dark brown... Thin tan lacing... Soft chocolate roast nose... Dark chocolate malts... Big berryfruits... Quite a lot of alcohol.. But rich and intense... Little licorice
3.2light licorice aroma, black, brown foam, light sweetness, lightly bitter, medium body, oily feel, soft carbonation, long harmonic finish.

3.3Bottle 50 cl. Black with a lightbrown head. Malt, roast, and dark fruits. Med bitter taste with a roasted end........
3.6Bottled 0,33L. Dark brown color, much solid aspect with a very creamy and foamy head, much adherent. Little whiskey nose with aromas of cask, cellar, winous sweet rumors, alcohol. Very perfumed mouth with notes of brandy, sugary cereals, moderate alcoholic impact, roast malty and cooffe. Realy complex beer with a rich bouquet and long persistance. Binding impression.
3.8In short: A rich no style brown beer offering a large array of flavor elements. Good beer.
How: Bottle 500ml, consumed soon after receiving through private importation, months before expiration date but already more than one year after bottling date.
The look: Cloudy dark burgundy-brown body topped by a medium beige head with medium retention.
In long: Nose is toasted, freshly roasted hazelnuts, tree bark, some green stuff (green plants, green hops). Taste has a rich creamy maltiness, mixed-nuts, a thick slice of rye bread, caramel, red fruits, brown bread crust, forest floor, strong yeast presence, a hint of smoke. A nice ‘green’ bitterness (herbal, green pine-needles). Alcohol is a bit more apparent than it should be. Thick fluffy body, lively carbonation, overall Belgian abbey style mouthfeel. This is not simply a Brown Ale on steroids, this is a no-style original beer of brown color. Drinkability is not super-high but a single bottle is quite enjoyable. And I am warning you, do no read what is following the vertical bars ok, so you are still reading, you are a rebel, I like you already, let’s hang out.
3.9Smak och doft av choklad, torkad frukt, karamell, kaffe. Lagom söt och välbalanserad. Lättsam beska.

Pours murky amber color with a small head. Aroma of ripe fruits, toffee, toast and bready malts. Flavor of malts, caramel, ripe fruits and licorice notes.
3.1Pours jet black with not a lot of head.
Despite the 7.5% strength this is quite a light beer. This isnt the maltiest stout that I have ever drank.
Still pretty good. Not the most exciting beer, though still head and shoulders above the standard.
3.5From Voldby, DK.
Bottled, 230313.
Brown with beige head. Aroma of malt and smoke. Flavour with some roasted malt and more smoke.
3.6500ml bottle. Darkest brown colour with small to average, firm, frothy, fairly lasting, tan head. Smokey aroma reminds of barbecue, cautious hints of dry fruit parings. Taste is minimally to moderately sweet dark malty, has an explicit smoke note, hints of dark chocolate and dark fruit, plum, blackcurrant; lively carbonation.
3.8A lively beer, a part come out of bottle before I find glass. Dark mahongy beer with a medium, dense, yellowbrown head. Aroma of roastiness, some smoke, pine needles, dark fruits and some sourness. Interesting and unique aroma. Taste is quite similar than aroma, some smoke, dark fruits, hint of sourness, wood and pine needles. Medium bodied, smooth carbonation, smooth and enjoyable to drink. The very unique beer as many others from Haanbryggeriet, harsh and earthy beer, I like this.
3.6Bottle batch 453 came gushing out of the bottle into my lap and onto the floor. Clear dark seal brown with a minimal light brown head. Aroma is light campfire, dark chocolate, roasted malt, licorice, wood, bark, light fruit esters. Taste is medium+ sweet, medium bitter and light salty. Medium body, oily texture, medium carbonation; seems it settled a bit after it found it’s way to the glass. Smooth and light salty licorice finish with some light smoke. After I changed my pants and cleaned the floor I found this to be pretty nice to sip on.

3.6Bottle, Batch 360. Dark brown red. Brown large head. Nice aroma with spicies roast bread and some yeast and alcohol. Medium sweet and light on the bitterness. Medium light body with at firely feeling to it from the alcohol. Pretty ok with a "julmust" feeling to it and a lot of alcohol in the finish.
3.417th August 2011
Opaque black beer, tidy pale tan head. Fresh and crispy palate. Minerally dark malt, mild. Not bitterness or roast. Mild mild coffee with a brief flash of bubblegum underneath. Finishes fresh with a carbonated bite. Not bad.
3.6Bottle from Vika Vinmonopolet (Oslo, Norway)
Pours dark brown with a frothy beige head. Quite cloudy. Basement aromas, hay, and caramel. Medium sweetness, no bitterness. This one was over-carbonated. Would have been much more interesting if it were a bit softer.
3.4Dark garnet brown with a small brown head, fading and leaving good lace. Very shy aromas of burnt sugar, caramel. Medium body, lively carbonation at first, malty, cola, red fruits alternate on the palate with hints of licorice. Very low bitterness. Finishes on this cola note. Not a bad beer at all, very drinkable, but not something I would run for...anyway, I never run for a beer!
