3.8 Bottle from SB. Dark brown to black. No sediment. 2-3 finger tanned head. Rich roasted aroma with dark chocolate sauce, licorice, viola and spicy akvavit. A hint of peat as well. Quite alluring and nice. Taste is roasted and slight spicy with licorice, dark chocolate, viola and akvavit. Medium bodied with soft carbonation and oily texture. Nice! Good balance on the barrel flavour and the beer in general.

3.6 @ Havregatan 20170331. Bottle (330 ml) from Systembolaget. Roasted malty and woody with chocolate and dried fruits, some alcoholic notes, vanilla, sweet, medium to full body with an oily texture. The finish is dry, sweet and roasted with some light alcoholic notes.
3.8 3 finger off-white/light tan head. Very dark, deep brown coloured beer. Aroma is chocolate, wood, smokeyness, liquor, herbs and a little bit vinous. Hints of vanilla and ’iron’. Taste is very roasty but most of the notes from above are there. Coffee, wood, smoke but a lot more herbal and earthy than the aroma, with chocolate coming in at the end. The mouthfeel though.. Finally a porter that’s easy to drink but isn’t watery! Overall, this was a porter I actually enjoyed. It became a bit one dimensional after a while, since it was mostly coffee and earthy flavours but still really enjoyable. 2nd beer by Haand Bryggeriet and both have been great!
3.8 Bottle from SB. Very dark brown with a small tan head. Malty and woody tones. malt, fruit, wood, coffee and hops. Medium to full body with anice bitter / fruity finish.

3.7 Bottled from Systembolaget Black with a very, small, beige head. Salty liquorice in the aroma. More liquorice in the flavpur along with wooden notes. Medium bitterness.

3.8 330ml bottle, 7%abv. Black with minimal beige head. Aroma is lightly roasted malts, slight smokiness, light roasted coffee, cocoa beans and spices akvavit. Taste is roasted dark malts, cocoa and coffee beans, all with a slightly boozy spicy alcohol overtone. 4.4 Bottle. A- Anise, smoke, leather, roasty, spuce, campfire. A- Black color, dark liquid, brown head. T- Smoke, char, roasty, tobacco, anise, juniper. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, complex finish. O- Really interesting stuff. Not sure what aquavit tastes like but it’s definitely in here because there are flavors I don’t recognize. Almost boarderline smoked. Interesting for sure and almost overbearing. Sorta reminded me of a scotch. Great stuff just one of a kind for sure.
4.2 Black with a thin but presistent light brown head. Really nice oak aroma that blends well with the residual roasted malt. Very well balanced taste with a nice smoky finish. I can also feel the akevitt coming through. Good mouthfeel and a really nice beer overall.

3.6 On tap at Cardinal, Stavanger. Pours black with dense beige head. Aroma of dark chocolate, roasted malt, some alcohol, spices, pepper. Tastes slightly sweet with roasted bitterness. Dry mouth feel, bitter finish.
3.9 Pours a near black with a khaki head. Roasted malt, caramel, toffee, coffee, chocolate and some dark fruit aroma and flavors. Medium full body and moderate carbonation, Roasty malt, caramel, toffee and coffee finish.
3.5 Bottle from Den Nordiske Ølhandel, Copenhagen; batch 602, brewed 10.05.13, bb 16.05.16 Black color with generous browinish head. Aroma of roasted malt and campfire, burnt wood, very light sulfur (matches). The mouthfeel is quite smooth, for sure leaner than expected at this gravity; strong flavor of roasted malt that doesn’t become too ashy and lets some dark chocolate show up; it has a hint of smoke, and an impression of spices (star anise), which could be the only sign of the Akevitt barrel aging; the final is a bit hot (chili pepper) and alcoholic. A good beer, but not worth the high price tag.
3.6 Black with tan head. Licorice, spice and aquavit. Slick, complex and spicy finish great!

Gustosa!
3.9 500ml bottle enjoyed @ home. Pours black with a beige head. Aroma is roasted malt, cherries, raisins, oak and aquavit. Flavour is sweet and medium bitter. Full bodied, semi-oily texture, almost no carbonation. Finish is sweet, cherries and warming alcohol with a hint of dark fruits.
Rolig i glasset.
2.4 It smells great to wooden barrels, a little coffee, roasted malt and also a little bit of burnt coal. Precisely coal is also a nuance in Line Aquavit, so it is a common feature of the two beverages. The concierge tastes of cold coffee, a little English licorice and has little burnt character. I think it’s a shame that the carbonation is so low, for if they had added a slightly more sugar in the bottle aging it would have developed a carbonation that had quickened it to a degree that I think had lifted it to a substantially higher level.
3.9 500 mL bottle, brought by Freya to Ale Alpharetta. Black color, with a thin, beige head. Nose of chicory, vanilla, cherry, gin, and coffee. Sweet flavor, with a touch of smooth bitterness. Very heavy, creamy, and smooth. This is a nice, sharp, porter.
