HaandBryggeriet Haandbic

HaandBryggeriet Haandbic

HaandBic is our first beer in the style of a fruit iambic with
added red currents and Lingonberry. We have naturally
also added a lambic style yeast blend incl bacteria and
yeast of different types. Then this concoction has been
aged in oak barrels for almost 18 months. The beer gets its
tartness from both berries and the concoction we added. It
will most certainly develop further given time

2.4 Pours a beautiful shade of chestnut, with about 1/2" of soft head leaving nice light lacing. Very complex aroma - slightly acidic, but much more funk, with lots of oak tannins. The flavor was unbalanced - way too oaky! Tastes like my first attempt at making a sour when I left the oak stave in too long. An interesting taste experience, but not an overall pleasant one. Could have been much more sour!
3.5 Warka nr 521 Piany praktycznie brak, poza pojedynczymi grubymi bablami. Metne jak woda w kaluzy. Aromat dominuje zapach stajenny, funky. Intensywny, przyjemny. W smaku wytrawne. Kwas ?redni w stron? wysokiego. Beczka wychodzi g?ównie w postaci taninicznsoci, ale czuc drewno tez lekko w smaku. Derka w smaku wciaz motywem przewodnim. Jest nieco gryzace. Owocow nie czuc wcaaale. Mimo to nie?le.
3.9 500 ml bottle. Pours a clear copper-deep golden with a short lived white head. Aroma is field berries, barley sugar. Flavor is field berries, sour candies. Finish is solid sourness, green apple. Lingering sourness. Medium to full body, velvety mouthfeel and weak carbonation. Great!
3.8 Bottle. Cloudy, reddish-yellow and brown color. Aroma: lambic, juicy and wild with cranberry, fine fruits. Taste: wild, medium sour, cranberry, a bit sweet finish. Like.
3.4 Bottle at THT thanks to Zer0. Slight hazy dark golden with short lasting off white head. Lactic notes up front, yoghurt, sour milk, quite some funk, sour grains, sour berries, hay. Medium sour with some lactic sweetness. Medium bodied with slick feel and low carbonation.
3.4 Bottle sampled at THT. Pours cloudy orange with a ring off white head. Aroma is massive lactic upfront, with tart berries and a nice light barnyard funk. Flavour is light sweet and over moderate sour. Light medium bodied with soft carbonation.
3.4 50cl bottle shared at October THT Funky aroma. No head. Cloudy amber pour. fruity notes. Sour aftertaste. Good
3.9 Bottle 50cl. No head. A bit hazy, cognac peach color soda color. Aroma is leaves, champagne, apples, oak, vinegar. Sour taste of berries of cran type.
Niezwykle pijalne i intensywne!
3.9 500ml bottle shared @Brasserie 4:20 (Rome), thanks Dino! Pours copper with a little head. Aroma of caramel, wild yeasts, some vinous notes, yellow fruits. Flavour is light sweet with a strong and persistent sour end. Medium to high body, good carbonation. Very nice sour from a brewery that I love!
3.8 Bottle at a tasting in Rome 4:20 pub on 27/08/2015, many thanks Dino and Mortlach. Pours caramel amber unfiltered color, minimal off-white head. Nose: sugar, mint, molasses, wild yeast. Mouth: malty, dry, sour.
3.6 Bottle Aroma-barnyard, Appearance-amber, hazy, white foam, Taste-medium sourness, light sweetness, Palate-medium body, sticky, average carbonation, sour finish Overall-very good
3.7 Funky aroma, some barnyard, wine and vinegar. Pours orange, hazy with small white head. Taste is heavy sour, refreshing despite the high ABV. Some fruitiness is also there. Bitterness is very low to absent. Overall very good.
3.3 Bottle. Hazy orange colour with a small, diminishing off-white head. The aroma is funky and acidic, with tart red berries. The flavour is acidic like lemons, with sweetness from the malt and some fruitier flavours. Seems a bit unrefined, but I like it.
4.1 Aroma: barnyard, Lingonberry, vinegar, hay Taste: heavy sour, lactic acid, Lingonberry, red currant
4.0 Bottle, batch 521. Pours amber, cloudy, with small whitish head which quickly disappears. Aromas typical for lambic - barnyard, horse blanket, and some fruity notes. Taste is medium to heavy sour, with sweet background. Aftertaste has a bit woody, oak character with well perceptible tannins. Very good.
3.7 Bottle. Hazy orange, no head. Aroma of oak wood, leather, wine, tart fruits. In taste sligthly over medium level of sourness, fruity and vinous flavours. Low body, oily texture, medium sour finish. Nice beer.
3.7 W aromacie potężny spocony kuń, mokre siano, stajnia, lekka owocowość. Przyjemnie i dziko.
2.8 bottle at home. Pours hazy golden amberish yellow with virtually no head. Faint aroma of sweet sour yoghurt, white berries, no lambic character whatsoever. Light body, faint sourness, nothing really outspoken. Taste is subtle oak, some tannins as well (palate). Ending quite sour.
3.7 Bottle at tasting, thanks for sharing all the beers! APPEARANCE: clouded blond beer, small unstable white head. NOSE: vanilla, oak. TASTE: vanilla, oak, fruity, sour.
2.9 Brown amber pour. Aroma is glue, soft plastic, mild oak, mild smoke. Taste is oak, mild port (currants), nice mild level of sour. Overall, a weird beer - confusing and not overly appetizing.
3.4 Mørk farge med lavt skum. Sur aroma og like sur smak. Medium konsistens..............
2.8 500ml bottle (Zmogsala2015, Vilnius) Harsh acidic aroma, however, there’s some nice apricot behind that. Palate is way too acidic. However, you’re left with the lovely apricot again in the later finish. Totally schizo beer. This is not the Haand that I fell in love with 10 years ago. They were leaders, pushing good beer forward. This is shitty fashion following, and not even doing that very well.
2.6 25th April 2015 Lightly hazy amber beer, a few short lived pale cream colour bubbles. Palate is light, dry and crisp. Sour start, some balsamic vinegar and a Flemish Red character. Mild lemon acid. Trace of smoke on the back end. Light crisp finish. More vinegar and acid on the linger. A bit on the sharp side for my tastes.
3.5 pours hazy/cloudy golden orange without a head, no sign of revival, nor any lacing. woodsy oak, very spicy, red wine, cranberries and raspberries, fruity and spicy caramel, tart peaches and other ripened orchard fruitiness, old grassy hops - sulfuric touch, light to medium acidity - plum vinegar - acetic but not overdone, low yet present funk, grass. light carbonation, light to medium body - oily; relatively and firmly tart woody-grassy-spicy finish. nice.
3.5 Shared 12.7 oz. bottle poured to snifters, showing a cloudy, brownish amber color, with not much head foam, but some persistence to the bubbly ring, and light spots of lacing. The nose was yeasty funk, but also a bit medicinal. Light to medium bodied, with decent carbonation, the taste was tart, with esters as dark berries & cherry, and some subtle, tannic astringency. Questionable start, but the flavor brought me back.
3.2 Light lambic aroma. Apple juice like appearance. Strong oak aged influence. Sweet lambic like. Way different from acid Belgian lambic. Still wondering about this lambic yeast as claimed on the label. Well balanced taste on the sweet end of the tongue. Good body.
3.3 Arôme léger de lambic. En bouche on goûte bien le fut chêne. L’acidité est beaucoup plus douce qu’une geuze. bière épaisse. Bonne bière mais qui reste un ton en dessous des geuzes.
3.6 Bottle 0.7l taste sample at the train to Ghent from Alvinne Craft Beer Festival 2015 Vichte Belgium.Thank yoj Jeff for sharing.Pour it clear amber color with small white head.On the nose vinegar, sour.Taste and aroma of sweet fruits, cherry, sugar candy.Ok balanced.Good one
3.3 Gylden brun klar uten særlig skum. Lukter eik, vanilje og noe sitrussødme. Mild start, vanilje og eikesmaken kjennes godt. Sur, syrlig. Ganske kort. Lillestrøm ølfestival - Klimt
