HaandBryggeriet London Porter

HaandBryggeriet London Porter

London Porter - has a lot to offer your tastebuds, this porter includes generous amounts of chocolate malts to render a mild roasty flavour but still a nice intensity. In addition we use balanced amounts of crystal malts and flavouring hops for a good fruitiness and aroma. To be served at 9-12 degrees C. Bottle conditioned - unfiltered and unpasteurised, no artificial carbonation. (Not to be confused with the stronger Haandbryggeriet Porter.) 3.4 50 cl bottle, batch #925. Black beer in the glass, no flashlight can shine through this one. Thin, tan head. Aromas of tar and red fruits, some coffee and tobacco smoke. Not much carbonation here, mouthfeel is flat and a bit thin. Flavours of dark bread, roasted malts and dark chocolate.
3.9 bottle @ home. Pours dark brown with a lasting beige head. Dry, roasted and delicate aroma of chocolate, coffee, marmalade, maltiness, flowers, caramel, some herbs and red fruits. Medium bodied, semi dry and smooth flavor. Taste of chocolate, orange marmalade, toffee, herbs, biscuits, bread. Dry finish with fruity coffee and some ash and nuts. Balanced bitterness. A Nicely balanced classic porter, with perhaps a bit of a short taste duration.
3.6 Dark brown, rich and durable beige head. Nicve roasty aroma with some chocolate. Taste is crips, sour-sweet and roasty. According to my experience, one of very few drinkable beers available when Vinmonopolet is closed or far away.
3.2 Bottle shared with SK on board Fridtjofen 13.08.15. Dark brown. Foamy, but diminishing pale brown head. Fine aroma of roasted malt, liquorice and wood. Dry and too carbonated.
3.7 0,5l bottle. BBD 12.1.2016. Batch 832. Extremely tall caramel head. Black. Aroma of yeast and licorice. Slightly metallic. Flavour is a solid porter. Licorice, malt, and slightly astringent. It is highly carbonated, more than expected. All in all, this is a good porter.
3.6 Bottle at home. Poured a black with no head. Aromas of coffee, sour smoke, nuts, baking cocoa. Medium bitter, light sweet. Dry finish. Good one
3.6 Bottle from cellarbrations super store in Hami hill. Pours pitch back with a thick tan head. Body is light with low carbonation. Aroma is woody with chocolate and coffee. Taste is roasted bitter coffee beans, slight chocolate and nuts
3.3 Nesten helt svart med massivt lysbrunt skum. Ristet malt dominerer lukten sammen med noe kaffe og litt fruktighet. Kaffe og mørk sjokolade i smaken med en fin og tørr bitterhet mot slutten. Over gjennomsnittet med kullsyre.
3.5 How: bottle Appearance: almost black, medium dark tan head. Aroma: choclate, rasins, coffee, wood Palate: soft carbonation, light body.
3.3 Aroma: lots of chocolate, coffee, roastiness, generally it’s fantastic and very intensive Taste: medium sweet, low bitter, chocolate, mineral, a bit too watery
3.4 Pours deep dark brown with a tan head that slowly but never quite disappears. Aroma is chocolate and lactose. Mouthfeel is medium but slightly creamy. Flavour of milk chocolate, some roasted malts, and a half-dry lactic finish with some coffee notes. Decent porter.
3.1 Svart farge med beige høyt skum. Lukter sjokolade og mildt kaffe. Mere kaffe i smaken. Lite kullsyre.
3.3 Dark with long lasting tan head. Aroma is chocolate, lactose and sweet roasted notes. Round palate. Aftertaste is round, bitter, floral and lingering sweet chocolate finish. Overall: Nice
3.6 Black with big creamy beige head, looks great. Light fruity, smoke, roasted malts, some ash and espresso. Light dry taste with just a light sweet touch and clean and fruity bitter finish. Light to medium bodied with light creamy feel. Nice fruity porter.
3.8 Bottle from the Mini Pris in downtown Alesund. Poured a deep mahogany with a frothy broken light tan head. The aroma is roasted malt, toffee caramel, coffee, grassy hop. The flavour is medium bitter with a light grass hop pepper spice palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. A superb flavour packed beer. More like a black IPA than a porter for me though.
4.5 ................................................................................................................
2.9 Coffee, chocolate, roasted malt and hay in the aroma. Dark brown to black with a tan head. Medium sweet and medium bitter. Medium body with a average carbonation. Overall a OK porter, but a bit boring.
3.1 This beer is to be had at my local shop. Haand Bryggeriet is one great brewery. Test of caramel, coffee, roasty, Looks black, minimal head, medium sourness, thick feel, soft carbonation, astringent.
3.6 Dark brown pour with a healthy brown head. Major bitter chocolate and roasted coffee in the aroma. Delicious bitterness in the taste, but not too lingering.
3.5 Bottle 50 cl. Black, with a slight brown tint, and tan head. Aroma of caramel and roasted malt. The taste adds some nice chocolate. Music: Jethro Tull – Warchild
3.0 Bottle, batch #605. Deep brown to black color with red notes, tiny light brown head, quickly disappearing. Roasted malt, coffee and chocolate is present in aroma and taste. Earthy and fruity notes in the taste. Thin body, soft carbonation, creamy mouthfeel. Not bad considering the low ABV.
3.2 Mørk fin farge. Gyllenbrun skum som forsvant fort. Lukter kaffe og malt. Fikk den av kånå
3.6 Bottle from Kiwi Hemsedal cons 2014-01-04 Hemsedal AR: dark bitter chocolate, sour coffey AP: dark mahogny brown, very high frothy/fluffy dark brown head F: heavy coffey chocolate, roasted malt, rich carbonation
2.8 500ml brewed 23oct2013 #672 b@EuroSpar. Beige cocoa head. Lacework there is. Dark dark body. Scents; tar, wood, some spices, hints of chocolate or caramel, not sure. Taste; coffee, tar, chocolate, cocoa, hints of salt licorice, iron. Some bitterness and dry there is, from hops. Floury to palate. Ending with more chocolate malts, gentle dryness, and hints of salt licorice.
3.2 50 cl bottle from Rimi supermarket. Pours dark brown with light brown head. Aromas of coffee and chocolate. Light bitter after taste. Good, light and refreshing porter.
Munnfølelelsen er lite å hoppe i taket over, føles utvannet. Avslutningen er mildt bitter, men også her anonym.
3.0 Bottle (at Olympen, Oslo, brewed July 23, 2013). Head is initially small, frothy, brown, mostly diminishing. Body is dark brown to black. Aroma is moderately malty (roasted/burnt grain), with light notes of minerals, tar, earth. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acdic, moderately bitter. Light to medium body, watery/creamy texture, lively carbonation. A bit simple and a bit acrid. Not up to the usual Haand standards, sadly.
4.0 Pours a slightly hazy orangey-brown, and a handsome, tan head forms nicely on top, where it remains for quite a while and leaves a satisfying lacing along the edge of the glass. Aromas on the nose are very mild, and mostly non-descript roasty malts. Aromas in the mouth are mainly hops and a mild coffee, with a nice hint of hazelnuts. The taste is slightly sweet, and with a nice, somewhat dry, finish. The mouthfeel is very soft, due to the low carbonation. Haandbryggeriets London Porter is mild, and perhaps not interesting, taste- and aroma-wise, but it is a nice session beer, and I bet it would be a great way to introduce those who prefer pale lagers to darker beers.
