Hacker-Pschorr Münchner Gold (Munich Gold)

Hacker-Pschorr Münchner Gold (Munich Gold)

“Munich Gold” closely resembles our Münchner Hell in terms of taste and mainly owes its popularity to a slightly higher original gravity and the malty note. The result is a full-bodied yet mild taste which delivers an increasingly bitter note before culminating into an aromatic finish. A real treat for true beer connoisseurs!

The types of barley grown in the Swabian Jura and in the Upper Palatinate Region of Bavaria are excellently suited for the production of this timeless classic.

Hacker-Pschorr has been brewing beer in the traditional Bavarian manner since 1417. The high-quality beers the brewery produces are all brewed in accordance with the Bavarian Purity Law and contain only water, malt and hops.

2.8 "Hacker-Pschorr Münchner Gold : Edelhell", Flasche von Edeka, Berlin. - Satt goldgelb, blank. (17.9.2021.)

3.1 Bottle from redland Stores, Bristol. Bright gold in colour, with a frothy, white, head. Sweetish aroma of ripe grains, with some hay in the background. Flavour had more complex malts, with the same ripeness upfront, giving way to a slightly spicy edge and touch of stone fruit. The finish was pleasantly bitter. A solid lager.
3.0 On tap at Ebenezers, Nantwich. Pours a clear golden straw with a small white head. Nose has malts and fruit with hints of pepper. In the mouth it has a rather watery texture. Starts off with malts and grains but hops come through at a later stage. Finish is fairly creamy. OK but not exactly exciting.
3.7 Bottle . Gold with medium white head. Subtle aroma. Taste is crisp lightly sweet grain. Pretty rich for the style. Medium light body, nice finish.
3.7 500ml swing top bottle from HoTM. It pours crystal clear yellow - gold with a thick, fluffy white head. The aroma is soft, sweet, doughy white bread, biscuit, custard creams, honeyed grain, cereal and grass. The taste is crispy, dry, super clean, grassy bitterness, straw, light spice, underlying sweetness, soft white bread, custard cream biscuits and a touch of spice. Finish is firm and dry. Average body and moderate, fluffy carbonation. Crazy clean and crushable. Balanced and moreish. Effortless to drink.
2.5 0.5 can from DIS supermarket Pours clear, transparent, golden yellow color with small short lasting head. Sweet, bitter, bold. Boiled eggs, grass. Great quality beer but kinda not as much drinkable. Mild carbonation.
3.0 This is a backlog rating from 2008 from a bottle, from notes. When I had this beer it was average to below average for the style and not something I wanted to have again or I just didn't get back to my notes because of my technology at the time, work and/or family. Words to describe this beer are lightly sweet grainy malts, grassy, earthy, light floral, bread.
3.0 Not a distinguish lager, just as normal as expected. Nothing interesting. Middle class beer.
3.5 Probably the best Helles I tried. Taste is malty with no limited hops, which seem to be more on the grass side than the bitter one
3.7 Aromă de malțuri dulci și miere. Gust de hamei proaspăt, ierburi, miere şi nuanţe de citrice, uşor amară.
3.3 500 ml swingtop bottle, as Hacker Pschorr Münchner Gold, from Seven Cellars. ABV is 5.5%. Crystal clear pale golden colour, large to moderate white head. 3.2 Clear golden color with medium white head. Aroma has caramel, grass and malt. Taste is malty sweet with long bitter and dry aftertaste. Flavors of grass, malt, caramel and a hint of citrus. Refreshing.
2.8 Gold-colored, foam goes away quickly. Nose. Malty, low hop notes. Taste. Malty, slightly sweet (honey), some bread. The aftertaste has a hint of hops. Nicely balanced enough. but simple
4.0 Bottle from Beers Of Europe. Pours a clear golden colour with a medium sized thick throthy white head. Aromas of cereals, hay, white bread and hints of honey. Taste is similar, more cereals, bread, honey and a little spice. Light to medium bodied, slightly oily mouthfeel. Nothing fancy but a top quality tasting lager.
