Hair of the Dog Cherry Adam from the Wood

Hair of the Dog Cherry Adam from the Wood

Cherry Adam from the Wood is aged with locally grown black cherries in oak casks for 15 months. The fruit lends a sweet tartness to the finish, melding with the wood and adding a new dimension of complexity. The 2008 bottling celebrates 15 years of business for me and was aged in Bourbon and Sherry barrels. The 2009 bottling was aged exclusively in Elijah Craig Bourbon barrels.

4.2 Sample at Toronado Seattle. Cloudy dark mahogany color with a medium thin light beige head that diminishes steadily to an outer ring. Strings of lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of oak, cherry, bourbon and malt. Full-bodied with flavors of oaky bourbon, cherry, malt and vanilla. The finish is oaky with a cherry and bourbon aftertaste. Good beer overall.

4.3 Aromat mniej intensywny niż w Adamie z Drewna, na pierwszym planie suszone owoce, mniej beczki. Smak jeszcze słodszy, wiśniowo suszowy, karmelowy, głęboki i pyszny. Ahh.
4.1 Rami Rami is drinking a Cherry Adam from the Wood by Hair of the Dog Brewing Company at Chmielarnia Marszałkowska 2015. Od wersji bez wisni rozni sie wieksza slodycza, jest wisnia glownie w smaku i wiecej pumpernikla. Klasa, zlozone, smaczne
4.1 W aromacie wiśnie, pumpernikiel, suszone owoce, rodzynki, lekka melasa, beczka tylko delikatnie się zaznacza, aromat nie tak intensywny jak "Adam from the wood". W smaku słodkie dość, delikatna wiśniowa kwasowość, goryczka delikatna. Na finiszu karmelowa słodycz, lekki wiśniowy posmak. Wysycenie niskie, alkohol delikatnie grzeje w przełyk, ciało jest średnie, degustacyjne piwo.
4.1 24-09-17 // bottle shared at Zwanze Day 2017 @ Mon Petit Café Stuttgart. Thanks for sharing! 2015 bottle. Great different dimensions in this beer, sweet sour malty base with red fruits, okay Wood caracter and some sherrry notes. Great.
4.3 Dark ale with no carbonation. Boozy, cherry smell and a long finish. Smells great and tastes even better.
3.3 Dark brown and flat. Aroma is exceptionally boozy, dry and woody. The cherry element adds sweetness and dryness.
3.6 Draft @ Borefts 2017. Dark brown color. No head. Aroma's: cherries, woody, light funky, sweetish. Retronasal it's cherry-ish, sweetish, mon cherie. Flavor is moderate sweet. Strong alcohol feel. Medium bodied. Long finish, dry, woody, tart.

4.2 Tap. Murky brown color with beige head. Aroma is malty, earthy, fudge, cherries. Taste is cherry tart, chocolate, fudge, caramel. A bit watery mouthfeel (wtf), low carbonation. Very good!
4.0 From tap at Borefts 2017. Aroma is sweet caramel malt, booze, tart ripe cherries, vinous notes, red grapes, and sherry barrel notes. Flavour is sweet and a bit sourish with some warming alcohol. Body is full. Complex and delicious.
2.8 On tap at Borefts 2017. Opaque dark brown looks like dark hot chocolate. No head. Woody aroma woody flavour. Some fruit. Too hot in abv a bit like licking a cherry tree. Too woody.

3.8 Tap at Borefts 2017. Murky dark brown with barely any head. Toffee, dried cherries, vanilla, bourbon, soft roasted oak, caramel, bitter herbs, sour cherries and light red berries. Over medium sweet, under medium bitter and sour. Full bodied with thin alcoholic finish and almost no carbonation.
4.3 Borefts 2017 day 2. On the menu as just Cherry Adam. Opaque dark brown with no head. Big sweet deep roasted chocolate and caramel malts deeply dipped in the juiciest of juicy cherry dip. Giving me about as much wood ad I can taste in this beer. Big massive wood notes. Juicy and rounded and so sexy sweet. Very very nice. Massive bidy and low carbonation.
4.3 Draught @ the brewery. 2017 Vintage Pours a opaque brown with a thin brownish pink hued head. Nose is wood, barrel, leather, tobacco. Flavour is delicious similar to the nose but, finishing with a nice sweet if not cherry influenced bourbon warmth. Just lovely and there’s some lingering cherry character on the palate afterwards.
4.0 12oz bottle at home. Vintage 2015. black color, almost no head. smells of coconuts, wood, ripe fruits, liqueur, light caramel, nutty, marzipan, light berry notes. very nice smell. full body, almost no carbonation, oily mouthfeel. tastes of ripe fruits, berry notes, some booze, liqueurish, nice wood notes, coconut, marzipan, nutty, licorice, caramel. finishes light to medium sweet with notes of coconut, berry notes and some liqueur notes. very nice one, a bit too boozy for me overall, but very smooth. lovely wood notes, beer got quite a bit better with some breathing. overall very nice beer.
4.0 The aroma on this sucker exudes oak and candied figs, followed by a bit of cocoa, red fruit, and alcohol. Pours a muddy brown coffee color with a slight tan ring of a head. Taste is initially quite hoppy, lots of fruit, oak tannins, candied figs, and finishes with a bit of alcoholic burn. A bit cloying and alcoholic on the palate, but the slight sourness of the red fruit acts as a bit of a foil. Yummy!
3.7 Bottle at Hair of the Dog (2017 vintage). Dark brown / copper color, beige head. Bitter taste with cherry, tart, bourbon, oak, a bit of hops, alcohol and earthy notes. Bitter finish with cherry, tart, bourbon, oak, a bit of hops, red currant and malts. Very nice brew.
4.2 Drank 28-3 @Majid the night before going to Struise (2015 version). Sweet, very rich beer. Really good one.
4.5 On tap at ACBF2017. Malty, dried fruit, cherries, sherry, some wood. Sweet with nice sourish counter balance. Smooth. Balanced. Complex. Warming. Full bodied. Another great one from HotD.
4.0 LCI.
Zeer goed in balans. Prachtig genietersbier.
