3.6 It pours murky yellowish orange with a white head. It has a medium body with soft carbonation. Pretty strange beer - it has bready quality that's probably from squash and malt. There's a heavy veg quality as well along with pills make and some vanilla notes. Good, but not like anything I've had before.
3.5 Herbal and vegetable notes. Strong flavors. Not hoppy in the traditional sense. Medium weight with a full feel.
3.7 Tap at the brewpub at 5.5%. Pours translucent very dark gold - some sort of coloring - with a creamy white head. Aroma is sweet and suggests squash or similar. Mouth feel is very smooth; med body. Flavor is very veg, not hop, but it’s veg in a nice way. Not crisp, but surprisingly clean and refreshing.
3.0 Greg - light straw color with a thin white head, grainy aroma, taste is slightly fruity, dry finish.
3.0 Lightly hazy rustic golden with a thin foamy white ring. Aroma has some earthy pale malt and apple and a kiss of biscuitiness. Smooth earthy pale malty sweet flavor that’s a bit bland but has a pop of tea, or something.
2.9 On tap at ACBF2017. Pours cloudy golden with white head. Malty, grainy, some yeast, some herbal notes, spicy. Watery. Bit harsh bitterness in finish. Light to medium bodied. Strange brew, doesn’t seem like a successful experiment.
3.0 Keg @ HotD. Slightly hazy gold pour with a small white head. Nose of honeyed grain and little else. Light fruitiness, honeyed bread. Fairly sweet. Medium carb.
2.4 04/03/2017 - draught tasting glass @ACBF Clear pale yellow, small head. Nose is grains, spices, herbal. Taste is fresh, spices, bit malts at first sips but than fades away. Could be good if the taste rested longer but turns into wattery.

3.5 Sampled at ACBF2017. Thnx for sharing, everyone! Pours clear blonde, small white head. Smell is malty, yeasty, bit sweet. Taste is yeasty, mild bitter touch. Bit sweet. Some sugary backbone.
3.5 Sample at ACBF 2017. Hazy golden color. Subtle fruit aroma. Taste is lemon and straw. Decent.
3.4 F: big, white, good retention. C: gold, hazy, opaque. A: malt, orange peels, herbal, spicy, fruity, peach. T: sampled from tap at ACBF 2017, malt, herbal, light orange, dusty, fruity light to medium body, medium carbonation, refreshing, interesting but not that great.
2.8 ACBF 2017. Thank you for sharing kraddel, tderoeck, Travlr & friends. Sampled draft. Hazy orange. Nose is metallic, soap, vegetables (squash I suppose), BE in a poor way, esters, sugar. Taste is watery, vegetable, soap, sugar, lots of esters, BE in a poor way, vegetable green,... Watery & soapy. Strange idea, sounded like a bad idea and lo behold it doesn’t work. Far below Ruth.
3.4 Draught No head left but rim; hazy orange-golden beer. Toffee, fresh caramel, spices; dry nose despite the first 2 specs. Dry, again caramel-like flavour; bit of pistacchio or nougat with pistacchio. Medium bodied but very slick, low carbonation. Decent, but way less stellar than most HotD brews.
3.1 Sampled from tap at ACBF 2017. Clear, golden yellow with a white head. Sweetish, slightly fruity and a little spicy aroma of fresh grass, citrus and some spices. Sweetish-malty, slightly spicy and a little fruity taste of caramel, honey, some citrus and spices, followed by a medium long, moderately bitter, quite spicy and a little dry finish. Medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Okay!
2.5 Trocken getreidiger Antrunk, laff, pilsähnlich. Leichte Süße, moderat herb, monoton. 8/7/8/7//8
3.2 From tap. Pours hazy yellow with a small white head. Aroma is fruity, estery and slight herbal. Toasted malty. Caramelish and slight herbal. Bitter and toasted malty. Dry and estery finish.
3.6 Draft at taproom. Hazy golden pour, small ring of head. Aroma is lighter, but hints at the squash. Taste adds a bit of bitterness from the squash, very mild, but savory. Nice consistency. Plrasant.
3.7 On tap at the brewery. Pours a hazy gold with medium creamy white head that lasts. The aroma is spice, grass, wheat. Medium mouth, crisp, grass, light bitterness, spice, very good.
3.0 @ Hair of the dog 16-3-9: lätt och frisk med små toner av örter. Kanske lite tvålig eftersmak.
3.2 On tap at the Brewpub. Hazy golden with a white head. Fairly relaxed with grass, some fruit, malt and some caramel. The finish was a bit dry.
3.5 Tap at HOTD. Stoked to finally stumble across this one, after years of (admittedly never bothering) not getting over to Higgins to try it. Pours a slightly hazy medium gold with very little head, no lace. Mild sweet cereal and soft gourd on the nose. Creamy medium body with minimal carb. Lightly toasted grain and soft gourd on the mid palate, very coherent and approachable. very light tannin on the finish.
3.0 Draft - Sweet butterscotch, caramel and some earth. Cloudy gold with a decent white head. Sweet, a bit syrupy and a touch of earthy notes. The squash gives a very sweet earthy not that is interesting, but not really tasty.
3.7 Draft at HotD. Bright golden brown. Thin creamy foam. Creamy beer, mild earthiness, balanced sweet active body, great carbonation. Sweet finish. Lovely, but hard to describe.
2.3 [2/24/15] Draught at Hair of the Dog in Portland. Hazy golden. Aroma of malt, pumpkin and a fruity note. Sweet flavor with malt, pumpkin, caramel and a spicy note. Medium-bodied. Sweet and not very pleasant.
3.0 Gold pour. Fruity aroma, flavor of fruits and grapes. Weird, and not great.
2.2 Draft. No aroma. Little carbonation. Tastes like sugared corn mash. Maybe bad lines? Can’t imagine thus is as intended, but then again I’ve never tried a squash beer. Maybe it’s just a not-good idea.
3.6 On tap. A: Cloudy gold with a thin white head. N: Squash, peppercorn, leaves, biscuit, cracker, honey, lavender, T: Sweet and lightly bitter. M: Light body, crisp carbonation, no alcohol. O: Easy drinking and delicious beer. The squash shines through very well and this goes down so easily.
3.7 Have had 5-8 times in the past 8 years on tap in PDX and SEA. Hints of pils grass and butternut squash on the nose. Dry and not so bubbly dirt and grains on the palate blended with squashy goodness in the finish. Light but intriguing.
3.7 This is pretty damn cool for a small beer, and a hopeless one at that. Aroma and flavor are crisp...pilsner like but with a fruity squashy kick. So very easy to drink and good even among the big beers
