Half Acre Daisy Cutter

Half Acre Daisy Cutter

A west coast Pale Ale chock-full of dank, aromatic hops. This one’s a screamer, horde it.

A version of Daisy Cutter called Classic was bottled and conditioned with Champagne Yeast. Ratings for that beer also are placed here.

4.2 A little extra hop bitterness for a pale ale, but it comes through as a nice bridge between traditional pale ale and an IPA.
3.7 Aroma is dank, and citrus. Light golden brown and clear with a pillowy head. Taste is hoppy, straw, chamomile, citrus, light bitterness.
4.2 Poured from a pint can. Nice one finger foamy head. Slightly hazy yellow-orange pour. Great nose of sweetness and pineapples. Watered my mouth. Taste is incredible. It’s light, refreshing, juicy hops (seems like citra), and a pleasant hop bite. Masterfully brewed. Cheers!
3.2 4 pack from Binny’s. Always heard great things about this beer. Perhaps too much hype ruined it for me. Ok taste but nothing special.
2.7 Caramel aroma, slightly sour, clear amber, bitter, caramel, toffee, thin and very lively, seems very old
2.7 11/20 really malty pale, not really my thing and maybe drinking it a bit past it. don't get the high rating
3.6 Sampled in a local smoked brisket and ribs place near McCormick Place in Chicago. Pours an amber gold with a white head. Malty aroma and a taste of malts with lots of bitter hop flavours; fresh citrus, grapefruit, pine resin and tropical fruit. Good mouthfeel. The bitterness is a little overwhelming, but this us a good, well-made IPA.
4.1 Tangerine, lime, biscuit malt, pine, and grapefruit peel aroma. Golden yellow with large off-white head. Moderately sweet tangerine, lime, biscuit malt, and moderately bitter grapefruit peel flavor. Good body and balance.
3.7 26-11-19 // can shared at beereau. Thanks. Cannedn in September. Clearish golden. Floral citric hop aromas. Nice Pale Ale.
3.2 Clear amber body with a minimal, persistent white head. Aroma is floreal, camomile. Taste is floreal, slightly citric. Fruity and citric finish. Low body soft carbonation oily texture
3.8 Can. Pours dark straw-colored and slightly hazy. Aroma of pine and resin, a bit sweet smelling. Has an unexpected malty backbone, stands up nicely to the bitterness that comes after. Kind of an old school tasting pale ale compared to some of the hop bombs I've had lately. Easy to drink and not super strong - I like this.
3.4 From tap at Barcade, New York. Aroma is grapefruit and mild piney hop with malt, some caramel, and soft pine resin. Not that fruity! Light sweet, medium bitter. Body is medium. More old skool than I thought it would be, expected a bit more.
4.0 Draft at 2019 Weftec Show McCormick Place in Chicago, IL 9/23/19 Very good!
3.8 On tap at the half acre taproom. Aroma is hoppy, citrusy, orange. Taste is slightly malty and hoppy, orange, grapefruit. Great apa
3.9 Can from Beermerchants dot com. Hazed honey gold with a nice white foam. Looking nice n West Coast. Lovely resinous beer! Sticky barley sugar, heaps of citrus peel, bit of stewed apple, little grassy and a pine resin to be proud of. Delicious tasting. Medium-full bodied with a refreshing level of carbonation. Nice n dry finish. Super duper.
3.5 08Sep2019 Light overripe tropical fruits, mango peel, candied papaya, resin, pine. Slightly hazy gold, medium, creamy, white head. Light bitter. Bitter tropical fruits, mango peel, wet straw, pine, resin, soft carbonation, medium bodied. Old fashioned. Can from City Beer.
3.2 16oz can from We Brought Beer, Tooting. Aroma of floral hops, mango and stone fruits. Fairly light body. Zippy fruity flavours. Fairly sweet finish.
3.5 Light IPA nice
3.4 On tap at Ale House, Grand Junction. Cloudy orange, white head .Some moderate hoppiness in aroma, malty, bit floral, light+ bitterness,. Medium bodied.
4.4 DATE: July 27, 2019... OCCASION: this is Take Three of this review--the first was cut short courtesy of the Point Pleasant power outage, while the second ended when my phone died....this one will be completed from my in-laws' location... GLASSWARE: (newly found) Hop Devil nonick... this pours as it did at 21st Amendment, with a frothy, off-white head that settles into a clumpy smear of sponge... its body, a stern medium brown amber, is replete with effervescent bubbles--exciting, considering its October 29th born-on date... intense grapefruit, mango, lemon grass, orange, dank basement and vegetable, thick resin, sweet and rich malts, sunflower and lilac--this ale is pale in name only, as its varied and voluminous aroma invigorates the drinker... wow, this has a creamy, chewy middle, a sharp, attacking entrance, and a smooth and dry finish--a complete, satisfying experience that refreshes and rewards without weighing me down, especially at 5.2% ABV, a crushable size for a pale ale... the mango, grapefruit and lemon grass are immediate and powerful... the resin is dank, thick and earthy, basement-worthy in its atmosphere.... toasted, crisp cracker malts and flowery esters make the experience even more complex and varied... honey, light spice, hoppy and balanced enough to be considered trying... having passed this over before--so many beers, so little time!--I rewarded myself with this, and it indeed is a reward, a citrusy, dank, chewy beer that becomes creamier as it drains... I plan to seek out out other Half Acre products, for sure...
3.8 Barwa złota, lekko zmętnione od chmieli, piana biała nietrwała, drobnopęcherzykowa. Aromat cytrusowy, trochę słodki, chmielowy. Delikatna goryczka, przyjemna oraz niezbyt intensywna. Alkohol niewyczuwalny, fajnie nagazowane, przyjemny gorzki finish. Dobrze pijalne. [050119] [7, 4, 8, 4, 15]
3.5 On tap into shaker pint glass at Arami at Midway airport, Chicago. Appearance is pale light brown with lots of sparkle, 1/2-finger off-white foamy head with poor retention and lots of leggy lacing. Aroma is mild piney resinous hops, grains. Taste is mild fruit, grainy malt and late piney bitter. Palate is medium side of light-to-medium bodied with smooth texture, average-to-lively carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, nice look but aroma is subtle and taste is pretty uninspiring. Average.
3.3 Can. Pours a dark orange colour with a thin white head, thin fruit aroma, the taste is medium bitterness and fruity with a dry bitter finish.
3.6 From the backlog... can, draft, ChiTown / NYC etc. Hazy yellow gold, white head. Grassy, tropical fruits, peach, grapefruit. Clean / dank / classic APA.
3.8 Can. Moderately strong hop aroma and flavor. Very smooth. No off-flavors. Slightly bitter finish.
3.5 Can. Clear golden-amber color with white head. Aroma is grapefruit, piney, grassy. Taste is lemony, grapefruit, toasted malts, piney, earthy hops, bitter finish. Oily mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Tasty!
3.4 L'aroma è di agrumi, con qualche scorza di limone e pompelmo. Il sapore è lo stesso agrume, più inclinato verso l'arancia e il pompelmo
3.5 Keg at Euston Tap West. Floral honey aroma. Amber gold. Thin creamy white head. Medium bitter. Some citrus. Light bodied. Slick. Low key fizzy carbonation. Dry finish. Decent enough but don't get the hype.
3.7 Not quite on board for the hype with this one. I'll order it when there's nothing else hoppy on draft, but this delivers light to medium-bodied citrus that feels a bit thin and lagerish. Pleasing blast of wet, floral hops through the finish, however.
3.2 0,47 boks (amerikansk pint) fra Kihoskh, i lejligheden nov-18: nesten helt klar kobbergylden med ok skum. Aroma og smak av overmodne citrusfrukter, kvae, mango og beske urter. Noe ufrisk bitterhet i avslutningen. I tvende sinn om denne.
