1.9 Fine dunkel, with ok body. Good with lunch. Mainstream beer, with not much new.
3.3 Reddish brown with a big off-white head; aroma is sweet malty with a hint of roast and herbal hops; taste is low to medium herbal bitter, medium to high malty sweet with some dark malts; texture is creamy and slightly watery with medium carbonation
3.5 Free from tap at Høkeren 01.04.17. Pale copper. Persistent beige head. Aroma and taste of medium roasted malt and a hint of berries. Medium dry and refreshing!
2.4 Bottle. Hancock has done better than this. A flat boring taste with a little sweetness. Aftertaste?
2.9 33 cl bottle from Copenhagen. Pours amber with little head. Sweet caramel aroma with sugary caramel taste.
2.9 An enjoyable, inoffensive beer which I would not mind returning to. Compared to a run of the mill pilsner, the experience here is fuller and smoother. The taste is not characteristic enough for this to be a great beer, nor would it be hard to find a similar product elsewhere.
2.8 Clear amber color with small white head. Aroma is malty and caramelly. Taste is bitter first with sweetish finish. Mild body. Pretty ok anyway.
2.2 Aroma: Malty sweet with caramel. Flavour: Fairly fruity and malty sweet with a burnt caramel finish. Colour: Brown with an offwhite head.
3.1 Pours dark redish brown with a two finger light brown creamy head. Roasted malt and caramel aroma. Sweet with a slightly bitter aftertaste.
2.8 Draught @ DØE Køge sommerfest. Appearance: pours clear dark brown with good tan soapy head and lacing. aroma/taste: barley, caramel and some fruity yeasty notes. palette: medium malty aroma, average carbonation, medium body, medium to notable malt sweetness, somewhat balanced by an average bitterness, medium duration and a watery texture. Overall: easy drinkable dunkel.
2.9 This is okay. A bit flat, the flavor has some roasted malt and a hint of chocolate. Bought in Freetown Christiana. Cheapest place I’ve found in Denmark for beer.
1.3 Riecht unangenehm, schmeckt nichtssagend, leicht alkoholisch. Dann lieber Wasser. Daumen danieder.
3.2 DWF; Bottle 33CL. Pours moderate, hazy brown with a somewhat lasting, frothy to creamy, light tan head. Nose is light to moderate, toasted malt, dark bread, light dark fruit and spice. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a moderate lasting dark sweet malt finish. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.
1.7 Not much aroma, but a bit sweet malt aroma. Brown-reddish clear liquid. White short lasting head. Medium sweet, light bitter. Average carbonation. Not a lager with much character.
Medium karbonering. En kedelig øl med meget lidt smag.
1.9 33cl Ebeltoft local, ved telten. Diluted caramel & liquorice candy mixed into a stale filter coffee broth of spent grain, fennel, celery. Slick, watery, dead yeast profile. Mouthwash comes to mind, if it had a mild hop presence. Less than delightfully dated.
2.0 Pour light Brown almost like tea. Malty nose. Caramel, malt and a vague bitterness.
2.4 Copenhagen 4/6 2015. 33 cl bottle from Meny. Lot of barrels giving the impression of old fashioned oak barelled beer production. Pours clear brown with light beige head. Head dissipates fairly fast. Aroma is not very strong. Sweet with some dark roasted malts and a little sourness. Medium carbonation. Taste is sweet - syrup and dark malts. Light bitterness in aftertaste. Nice enough dunkel - but nothing out of the ordinary.
2.8 Hancock Black Lager has beautifully rich and pleasant aroma of roasted malt. The taste is sweet caramel and roasted malt, which lowers the caramel sweetness. In flavor notes can also be found a little coffee, nuts and dried fruit. The hops are Czech Saaz type. Saaz has the mild and slightly spicy taste which makes it excellent for all types of lagers, which just like the malt must get a bigger context in taste impressions. It is a tasty dark stock sold at a price that is affordable. The large Danish breweries have here a major competitor when it comes to dark lagers. Hancock version is very rich and tasty. However, I do not think it beats the classic Old Carlsberg lager.
2.6 Clear dark with a medium beige head. Aroma is malt, hops and chocolate, Taste is malt and hops
3.4 Noget skuffende Black Lager. Ordinær smag uden særlige smagsnoter. Kedelig farve og skum.
1.9 Bottle @ home. Aroma: Sour ’pilsner’. Apperance: Pours clear dark amber, some light brown medium lasting head. Taste: Few roasted notes, toffee, a bit sour bitternes in the finish. Overall: Drinkable but not very interesting.
1.9 Tall tan head, brown-amber clear body, not much lacings. Aroma; dark fruity malts, red apple, berries, dusty hops. Taste; medium caramel malts, wet sweet bread, grains - not sure where hops went after aroma test. Almost flat carbo here. Sweet finish, caramel and light syrup, fragments of apple. Tmawy close to polotmawy, I would say, or just a flat amber vienna. [33cl brown bottle, 5%abv, BB07.04.15]
2.8 Bottle@Sundsørehus, Sundsøre. Pours dark brown with a good white head. Sweet malty taste, caramel, roasted notes, dark fruits. Soft carbonation. Slight bitter finish.
2.6 06-SEP-2014, draft @Øllets dag, Bryggen. Mahogany with low tan head. Not Black at all! A Little roast, caramel, touch of sweetness, pilsner-like and far from the Schwartzbier I was expecting. Boring.
3.2 Bottle 33cl. Cream white layer. Clear brown color, good carbonation. Aroma is caramel, cookies, hops, raisins, cinnamon. Taste is sweet of wood, birch sap and caramel malt.
