Hangar 24 Orange Wheat

Hangar 24 Orange Wheat

ORANGE WHEAT
Crisp, Tart, and Refreshing. Whole locally grown oranges added throughout the brewing process perfectly compliment this unfiltered wheat and barley based beer.

Our oranges are purchased through the Old Grove Orange company (affiliate of the non-profit Inland Orange Conservancy) whose main objectives are to save the local orange trees from disappearing, spread the word about the local citrus growing heritage, and to feed the hungry with the unutilized oranges. Please visit them at www.inlandorange.org. All we need to do to save the orange trees is to eat locally grown oranges!

2.8 One of the better orange wheat beers but not worth the price bump. Comparable with Blue Moon and Shock Top.
2.6 Straw colored and opaque. Minimal head. Lemon, orange, hay aromas. Medium sourness. Apple, lemon, and tart flavors.
3.3 On Tap @ Bay Area Craft Beer Festival, Martinez, California (16.04.2016) Kolor słomkowy, mętny. Aromat nie powala intensywnością. Słabo wyczuwalne cytrusy (cytryna, pomarańcza), trochę zbożowy, lekko dziki. Smak jest lepszy - lekka pomarańcza, limonka, pszenica, cytryny, zboże. Bardzo lekkie, ale nie wodniste. Smakuje trochę jak woda z dodatkiem soku cytrynowo-pomarańczowego. Umiarkowane wysycenie. Taki sobie średniak.
3.0 Little aroma. Very clear appearance for a wheat beer. Clean taste with no lingering flavors. Easy to drink and good for a hot day.
3.3 Heavy in citrus flavor and smell with a slight bit of a tart flavor overall. Slightly sweet but done well none the less.
3.2 Purchased single bottle at Albertson in Vegas. Cloudy golden-yellow colour with a fizzy white cap that disappears quickly and does not leave much. Mildly spicy nose with real orange aromas. The taste is slightly sour, but mostly fruity with the oranges and very light wheat in the background. Refreshing brew for a good cause.
3.1 On tap at Napkins in Napa (Dinner, finally! -mrs bvery). I don’t think it has a smell but BV thinks it smells like a stripper stage (convo for tomorrow morning). Light wheaty taste with a hint of Orange.
3.3 4.5%ABV.  Witbier. Poured out of the bottle a cloudy blonde.  5ºSRM. Nose has a strange aroma of cream corn.  The nose on closer inspection has a slightly funky sour yeasty nose.  Very nice is a wit.  The local aroma is that of tamarind. Mouthfeel is light and carbonated.  A nice sour palate of lemon juice with a slight acetic tang which then disappears almost immediately to give up very light flour and bread dough.   Not a very interesting ale oveall, but I have a soft spot for Hangar, so there...
3.1 Buttle from Stearns Liquor Mart, Long Beach. Slightly hazy golden/yellow beer with a small offwhite head. Fruity malty aroma, yeast, wheat, caramel, oranges, biscuits, some citrus and grapes. Sourish fruity flavor, oranges, caramel, spicy, hay, some floral notes. A bit unclean.
3.3 Tap @ 7th Ave Pub, San Diego. Pours hazy lime color with a small head. Herbal aims, yeast and faint wheat notes, lemon too. Lemon flavor, soapy, yeasty and spicy. Decent. 3334
3.4 Draught @ Whole Foods 7th Ave Pub, San Diego, CA Pours hazy yellowish with a smooth head. Aroma of citrusy, fruity and spicy with hints of orange peel. Taste is sweetish, smooth and citrusy with loads of lemon and orange peel. Finish is sweet and stuffy. Decent.
3.2 Draught @ Whole Foods, Hillcrest, San Diego. Aroma has citrus and wheat. Flavour has wheaty tones, some citrus and some apricot. Quite bland but not bad anyway.
3.2 Draught @ the 7th Ave Pub, San Diego, CA. Pours a cloudy yellow colour with a small foamy head. Aroma of grainy malts, citrus and some husky graininess. Flavour of grains, mild yeastiness, citrus and mild fruitiness. Light bodied. Soft and smooth finish. Refreshing and mild.
3.4 Bottle at Sonoma Terrace in Disney’s California Adventure. Poured a light hazy yellow color with a small, one finger head. Aroma was lots of juicy orange notes. Light wheat grain notes, with some light orange. Easy to drink.
2.6 Hazy orange color with small white head. Orangey aroma, a bit spicy yeasts. Taste is fresh oranges, a bit bitter, then, bready malts kick in. Crisp carbonation, but with that silky Weizen mouthfeel. Very drinkable, but a little weird.
3.3 On tap at Blue Line Pizza in San Carlos, CA. Aroma is earthy orange juice, light mustiness. Taste is thin... almost more like a shandy of orange juice and a light beer. Refreshing but not a huge fan.
3.1 Pours a hazy orangeish yellow color with a white head. Orange, wheat, yeast and spice aroma. Orange, lemon, wheat, yeast, spice and floral flavors. Light body and lively carbonation. Orange and wheat finish.
3.1 Hazy golden with a white head - Wheat and citrus aroma - Wheat malt body with a good citrus flavour - Citrus and some wheat in the finish - This was nice
3.1 On draft. Hazy yellow color with one finger head. Orange aroma. Wheat and orange taste. Nothing special, but refreshing.
2.2 Had at Hello Betty in Oceanside. Yuck moldy closet smell, no orange, no wheat character, just nothing but basement dirt. Not much better than Shick top.
3.4 Hazy straw yellow. Aroma is pretty standard what aims with a touch of orange pith. Orange is definitely present on top of a rather average wheat beer, some banana and lightly soapy yeast.
3.8 Light, ultra crisp summer brew. Hazy orange with a thin head. A very easy drinking beer and very tasty.
3.1 (bottle) hazy very pale yellow colour with a small white head; aroma of oranges; clear, dry flavour with a medium long light sour finish
3.8 This is nice. Pours lemonade with limited head lots of lacing. Nose is like on and orange rind. Flavours of lemon, orange, cereal dough. Taste light sweet light bitter light tang. Medium body with lively carbonation. Nice!
2.5 Pale yellow cloudy color. White head. Tart hard wheat aroma with an underlying orange. Flat taste, wheat and slight orange. Some salt. If there was a tartness, it’d be decent.
2.0 Not good at Hello Betty in Oceanside. May have been beer or the taps there. Flat dirty sock horrid. Ill try bottle or brewery and re rate if needed, but this aint any better than shocktop.
3.0 This poured a darker golden color with a white head. Aroma was of oranges slightly and cracked wheat. Flavor was orangey and pale wheat. Pretty boring.
3.4 "Pleasant aroma of oranges and wheat. Minimal hops. Nice head on a golden orange body. Light on the palate. Flavor almost like a Berliner with its fruity tartness. Pretty nice!"
3.1 Pours a hazy hay color with a nice 2 finger head, but dissipates quickly. Nice lemon and orange aroma with a bit of yeast. Flavor matches aroma. No bitterness. Very sessionable.
3.5 Bevmo Liberty Station bottle. Pours a cloudy, straw color with a thin white head and bubbly carbonation. Light aroma of a slightly tart, citrus soda. Flavor is navel oranges with a slight hint of tart, lemony citrus and maybe some pith. Nice and easy drinking
