Sweetish, slightly grassy-spicy aroma of grains, nuts, some straw and a touch of cardboard. Slightly sweetish, moderately bitter, quite dry, moderately grassy-spicy taste of grains, toasted nuts, straw and some cardboard, followed by a short, medium bitter, quite dry and moderately grassy-spicy finish with a touch of iron. 3.0 Bottled on January 22, 2018. Clear dark brown color, white head. Malty, grainy, some smoke, very low hop focus scent. Low bitterness. Light smoked, some hop character, sweet taste. Medium mouthfeel. 6/4/6/3/11=3.0
3.1 Bottle. Reddish brown with a small off white head. Malty and spicy tones. Malt, hops, spices and bitterness. Medium body with a dry finish.
2.7 Being brought up on Altbier it is hard to be objective. Hannen is, however, not among my favorites. A decent Alt, but not a match to the ones from Düsseldorf.
2.7 On tap. Midsized head, hazy brown colour. Aromas of leaves, floral hops, caramel, toffee, light dried fruits. Taste is leavy, earthy with some malt. Fizzy carbonation, slick texture, light to medium body.
4.8 I remember this beer for it’s deep nutty taste, dark in color, full bodied and extremely easy to drink. I have not had a Hannen Alt since 1969 when I spent Christmas, my 23rd birthday and New Years in Essen, Germany with the Krimphoff family. This was my beer; I wish I had a case!
3.4 Beautiful warm ruby colour, white bubbly head and some bubbles. Smell is malt and caramel, some white pepper, cumin, hint of fenugreek, nutmeg. Touch of yoghurt and citrus. Taste is fizzy, bitter sweetish and quite full with a gentle fizz. Malty, hint of chocolate and spicy bitterness. Touch of chlorine.
2.4 Bottle. Appearance is cloudy red brown. Head is thin and beige. Medium high sweetness, light bitterness. Aroma and flavour is caramel, liquorice, juniper.
3.0 Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 7B). Bottle 33 cl - Batch LB244 (BBF 06.06.17). AROMA: medium-low cardboard-like notes, mixed with medium-low caramelized malt notes with bread crust. faint peppery hop presence. APPEARANCE: ambar color and clear. medium-low white head with medium-low retention. TASTE: medium-low cardboard notes followed by caramelized malt (bread crust). medium-low balanced bitterness, with a semi-dry to dry finish. PALATE: medium-low body with medium-low carbonation. OVERALL: an altbier with notes of oxidation and with more muted malt.
3.0 500ml bottle. Clear, chestnut colour with average, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. 3.5 From Labirratorium. In Teku glass. Playing Broken Sword 5. Light caramel and toasted notes. Very drinkable and refreshing. Pleasant but lacking some punch
2.6 0,5 l Flasche.

2.7 *Old rating. Best before 30.03.05. Nice but not too seep brew. Roasted malt, moderate bitterness with some sweetish hints. Easy to drink stuff!
3.2 Bottle. Pours brown with a mostly diminishing, white head. Nice aroma with spiciness and some wood, malt in the background. In the flavours, dry, the wood is a bit more notorious, with hints of what appears to be leather, very well blended with smooth malt. Oily just on the thin side, medium or medium to full body, long-ish finish.
3.1 Flaske. Farven er mørk kobberrød og skumkronen er cremet. Aromaen er mørk frugt og urteagtig. Smagen er mørk frugt og humlebitter. Faktisk en rigtig god øl.
