Oude lambiek is added right before bottling, which makes this beer different from the "Scarenbecca Kriek".

3.7 Dark red with no head. Strong smell of sour cherries with a vinegarlike lambic note. Same in taste with an additional wooden note.
3.9 A 375ml corked and caged bottle, with a notched bottled on date of January 2016. Poured into a 3 Fonteinen stemmed glass. It was a hazy dark ruby red colour with thin to minimal head, and no lacing. Aromas sweet fruity, cherry, marzipan, acetone, oak and balsamic notes. Tastes sour, tart, sharp, acetic, cherry, vinegar, oak, lemon juice. Sharp, acetic, acidic, medium bodied, with soft carbonation (but maybe feels like more because it’s so sharp). Overall in classic Hanssens style, it’s sharp and acidic, but luckily it’s got good cherry and oak notes, that help with what may seem harsh.
2.9 Uuuu ale octu. Co z tego, że fajna wiśnia, pestka, lekka skóra jak ocet dominuje?
3.3 ( bottle) Aroma: vinegar, cherries. Taste: semi-sour, flavour of vinegar, cherries, strawberry, bit funky in the finish. Palate: medium body, medium carboonation. Overall: Tastes like poorly made flanders not lambic, ultra acidic in a basic vinegar way,
4.0 Otrolig syra, ekfatsmak, frisk körsbär
4.1 375ml bottle, thanks martjoobolut, 6.5% abv. Pours clear dark purpurish red colour, no head. Aroma is fruity, cherries, vinegar, oaky, cherry stone. Taste is acidic, vinegary, cherries, some oakiness. Medium body, low carbonation. Freaky, Hanssens as it's best. Love it
4.1 On tap at Mikkeller Bar SF. Pours purple with an attractive purplish head and a cherry aroma. There is a mellow cherry flavor with a lot of depth. Stays on the palate.
4.0 Lots of cherry and some grapefruit. Great balance and very nice drinking. Murky ruby red. Tangy finish. Very nice stuff. Some orange, Buddha fingers. Passion fruit. Bottle at Max's.
3.9 Bottled, cork & caged, 375ml as Hanssens Schaarbeekse Kriek from Beers of Europe, Kings Lynn, Norfolk. Cloudy mauve purple with no head. There are intense sour cherry flavours from first sip, lip puckering, saliva inducing so. Sharp, skinny and dry, big tannin notes, wooden cask, wild stuff. Heavy on the palate, takes some drinking, pleasure and pain at the same time. It's an experience, great to try, unlikely to repeat.
3.6 Bottle from The Gull, North Vancouver, as Schaarbeekse Kriek; 6.5% ABV, bottled Feb 2019, cork Deep purple colour, dark and opaque, with no head. Aroma of sour cherries, wood, cork, balsamic vinegar. Dry, mouthpuckering, astringent; powerful cherry character, with robust acidity, and just little of the classic Lambic character. Excellent fruit character, averagfe Lambic.
3.0 Taster on Weathered. Appearance: murky purple. Aroma: vinegary cherries. Taste: along the same lines, very acetic, acidic. Overall: darn, this is NOT good.
4.7 Floral aroma, beitiful colour and acidic fruity very balanced, very good fruity body.
4.3 Bottle from Whole Foods Market in Santa Clara, CA. Aroma is spiced cherries, red wine, balsamic vinegar, oak, dry age funk. Taste is tart cherries, oaky, vinegar, musty funk, dry bones. Very intense but delicious sour with the cherries and oak really coming through.
4.4 Bottle at Pigs ear 2019. Deep deep red colour thin pink head. Sour aroma. Then the fruit bursts in the mouth like blood from an artery. Its pin you to the bench fruity good. Intense. Beer of the day. No doubt. The intense cherry is great. Some salt and vinegar crisps underneath but sooooooooo goooooooood loved it.
4.2 330ml bottleshare at We Brought Beer, Balham. Hazy purple. Aroma of massive malt vinegar, oak, musty fruit, yeast, warm savoury notes and red wine. It’s really vinegary, and probably best enjoyed in moderation, but it’s so full and the linger is absolutely smashing. The vinegar turns to sweeter dried and dark fruit elements.
3.5 Cloudy ruby, soapy pink head. Qiute a bit of stale dried cherries, lacto. The taste has the sour cherries, lots of acetic more than lacto. Too aggressive.
3.6 Good cherry kriek. Solid and very tart flavour. Very good sipper. Reddish colour with some lasting head.
3.7 375ml bottle bought online from Etre Gourmet. Pours opaque deep red to purple with a slim loose head. Aroma: tart sour cherry, light funk, oak. Taste: moderate acidic, tart sour cherry jam, vinous, tannins, earthy, some balsamic vibes. Medium bodied with light carbonation. Dry-ish with sweet 'n' sour cherries on the finish. This is good, full of flavour and thankfully not as face-meltingly acidic as some Hanssens beers
3.9 Pours a purple red. Immediately tart and full of cherry and some grape. It's quite tart and you can't drink it very fast. It's bottle conditioned and yeasty flavor built as I worked my way through the bottle. It was a good, bready yeast.
3.9 375ml bottle at 6.5%. On the morning of my wedding. Pours reddy purple with a small head. Aroma is earthy, sour cherry. Taste is earthy, tart cherry. Sweet and sour cherry finish.
4.0 Bottle: Poured a deep red color lambic with a large light red color head with OK retention and light lacing. Aroma of tart cherry notes with some sour and funky notes is quite enjoyable. Taste is a nice mix of tart cherry notes with some funky ester, some oak and light residual sugar with some cherry pit notes also perceptible. Body is about average for style with good level of carbonation. Typical Hanssens lambic with some light acidity but enjoyable fruit presence.
2.5 Dark red color with a short white head, sour aroma of vinegar, stale wine and cherries, taste is the same, heavy sourness, difficult to drink, definitely not my style.
4.0 750ml corked & caged bottle from...? 6%ABV bottled 07/08/14 Has a deep blood red body to it, thick looking somehow, pink tinged head atop. Very complex aroma; cherry pit, stewed berries, dried cherry/cranberry, good amount of oaken toast and vanilla and coconut and aged butter, hints of red wine vinegar and ethyl acetate. Tannin, lots of it, hugely structural, grippy, that acid is abrasive, firm, acetic, aggressive; mouthwatering. Cherries upfront; sour cherry, sweet ripe black fleshy, vinous, lots of bitter tannic pits and stalks, lots of oak once again, old cellar, kind of musty/earthy, toasted almond, balsamic in big measure, ethyl acetate bite, green apple, plum skins, really really long finish. Fantastic, seriously complex, intense, challenging yet rewarding - crazy good!
3.9 375 ml bottle from Roybeer, Milano, Italy. It pours ruby, with almost no head. Aroma is cherry, red berries, vanilla. Taste is medium to heavy sour. All the sweetness of the aroma is totally changed in the mouth! Body is medium, carbonation is low to fine.
4.3 37,5cl bottle (bottled 01/2017, 6,5%) as “Primus Cerasus ‘Schaarbeekse Kriek’” from Rob the Gourmets’ Market in Brussels. F: some pink bubbles. C: deep dark red, hazy, opaque. A: a lot of sour cherries, bit vinegar, woody, leather, bit sour apples peels, sour red berries. T: a lot of sour cherries, woody, leather, barnyard, funky, bit red wine, intensive puckering, very sour dry fruity, bit too sour for me yet great for the style, low carbonation, medium to full body, great one.
3.6 [2018] 375ml bottle. Deep purple with a creamy purplish white head. Flavors are cherry, lemon, oak, rubber and spices with vinous notes. Good acetic acidity. Medium body, moderate carbonation, smooth texture.
3.8 Bottle, Hanssens Schaarbeekse Kriek (Primus Cerasus ‘Schaarbeekse Kriek’), 6.5%, bottled week 3 of January 2018. Color: Dark red, fast disappearing pink head. Aroma: Wild yeast funk, sweet and sour cherries. Taste: Medium tart and moderate to medium sweet, strong flavours of dark red cherries, nice amount of farmyard funk from the wild yeast. Notes of vinegar. Some wood, tannins. Dry mouthfeel. Full body, below average carbonation.
4.0 Bottle 33cl at home. Aroma of cherry, vinous, red fruit, vinegar, light wood. Poured dark vinous red, no head. Taste is tart, cherry, red fruit, green apple. Finish is nice sour, with a sweet hint.
3.7 In the aroma of ripe cherry. Dark pink in color, slightly hazy with a little light pink foam. In the taste of cherry, a little sour red currant. The finish is sour, light body.
4.2 500ml bottle, shared by GenDv138, thanks Donnie! Poured a very bright red color with a small wispy white head. Aroma was super tart, lots of tart cherry. Thankfully not too acidic, but man, my mouth started to produce so much saliva due to the tartness. Delicious.
