4.0 Inky black pour, brown head. Sweet molasses flavors up front, prunes, raisins, good dose of roasted malt. This is a pretty damn good imperial stout!
3.2 330ml bottle. Jet black colour with late awakening, small, creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, tan head. Chocolately, dark malty aroma, hints of chocolate sauce, hints of blueberry, a touch of roasted nuts. Taste is roasty, chocolately dark malty, notes of chocolate sauce, hints of roasted nuts and blueberry, a metallic touch; flat carbonation, oily texture, slightly sticky palate.
3.8 Bottle at home, from Systembolaget. Dark brown with a light brown hea. Aroma medium malty (caramel, roasted, coffee, licorice, dark chocolate). Flavor light sweet, medium bitter. Medium body, soft carbonated.
3.8 Bottle from Pigs Ear Beer Festival, 2015. Drank at home. Black pour with a fluffy light tan head. Deep coffee roast aromas with dark chocolate, licorice, dark fruit and woodsmoke. Flavours of dark cocolate, coffee and brown sugar. Smooth, semi-sweet long coffee linger. Smoky-dry finish. Nice.
3.9 Donker bruin bier met een goede beige schuim kraag. Ruikt chocolade, geroosterd, koffie. Smaakt drop, laurier, koffie, geroosterd.

3.9 (Hantverksbryggeriet Kosacken (Prototyp X)) Stubby bottle 330 ml at home, served into a snifter, ABV 7% Totally black colour on the body, one finger of thick and creamy, beige head sitting on top, with very good retention. Great aroma, fruity notes, vanilla, chocolate, hints of alcohol although is only a 7% beer. Nice taste too, light olive pit at the beginning, chocolate, light mocha, fruity notes, light roasted malts towards the finish, light vanilla. Medium thick body, carbonation on the high side. Unexpectedly good!
3.5 Poured an oil brown color with aromas of light mill and chocolate with some roast. Flavors really booze and thin for a stout with light milk some chocolate and roast. Solid but run of the mill.
3.1 Slight gusher, deep dark brown with a beige head. Aroma of milk chocolate and coffee. Medium body, flavour as the aroma medium sweet, medium bitter.
3.8 Bottle: A dark black color with a tan head. The Aroma is dried fruit and malty milk chocolate, while the taste is sweet with a thick but smooth mouth feel and low bitterness. The flavors that dominate are coffee and chocolate.
3.6 Aged a couple of years. Smooth good bodied IS with chocolate thickness. Good drinkability.
4.0 chocolate, roasty, cereal, coffee, leather, vanilla, smoke, frothy, clear, black, medium sweetness, medium bitterness, full body, oily feel, average carbonation, bitter, long finish,
3.8 How : bottle Appearance : dark brown, minimal tan head. Aroma : liquoroce, bitter chocolate, coffee, malt, roast. Palate : medium body, soft carbonation.
4.0 330 ml bottle. Pours black with a short lived beige head. Aroma is roast, coffee, chocolate and resin. Flavor is dark chocolate, coffee, sugar. Finish is resinous bitterness, burnt, coffee and chocolate. Lingering dark roast coffee. Medium to full body, velvety mouthfeel, weak carbonation. Excellent!
3.8 Aroma is of course, roasted malts, caramels, bread and chocolates. The taste provides with a rather distinct attack from heavy roasted malts at first and slowly tips over towards dark fruits, liquorice and coffee. The finale is actually pretty light and thin which had me a bit confused, as I expected a true bitter and longlasting effect, but no. Still a pretty good Imperial Stout, even if it’s a bit low on the abv and the thin finale.
4.1 Good roasted malt aroma. The taste is of dark malt, roasted malt also a little sweetness. Good bitterness that fills the mouth for a long while. Really good beer and enjoyable. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.
Lite syrligt avslut.
3.8 Bottle shared by Alex. Thanks! Pours pitch black with a two finger tan head. Aroma is dark chocolate, espresso, with a touch of oxidation. Medium heavy mouthfeel. Taste follows the nose and has a ash and char note as well. This is a very tasty brew and one I’m glad I got to try. It is very good.
3.8 4/30/2012. From bottle. Black with a tan head. Roasted malt aromas with chocolate and licorice. Bitter flavors, robust and thick with a long finish. Very good.
3.7 Flaske 0,33l fra Systembolaget, e-beställning. Beksvart. Høyt luftig skum med litt farge. Varer. Litt lacing. God lakrisaroma med innslag av røyk. Smaken er sjokolade og litt søt lakris. Myk munnfølelse. Va bra!
3.4 330ml bottle, 7 % abv, at Bishops Arms in Luleå. Pours a tan-coloured head to a pitch black body, fragile lacing to the glassware. Pleasant aroma of cocoa with fruity notes. Similar flavours of cocoa powder, a little smoke, and dark fruits, mid-tart berries towards the ending. Well bodied. Pleasing (shared with djoeye, 25.05.2014).
3.4 330 ml bottle poured into snifter. Opaque, near-black color with a modest khaki head that settles into a ring after a few moments. Requisite roasty coffee, toffee, chocolate and dark fruit aromas. Flavor is lightly sweet with lots of roasted coffee character with a slightly astringent bitter finish. Overall this is considerably drier than my nose had me expecting. It’s an interesting contrast to the sweeter, fuller-bodied imperial stouts I’m accustomed to, but I’m not sure I prefer it.
3.6 Dark brown 0.33L special bottle ABV 7%; beige film, black-brown body. Aroma of apple-hops, caramel liquorice, fruitiness, choco-malts. Tastes lots of berries n fruits, peel of green apples, sourness, coffee, chocolate, distinct lingonberry notes. Fruity on palate with lively carbonation, which puts lingonberries forward. Chocolate finish, mocca cocoa coffee, nice indeed. No killing over-bitter imperial disturbance here. As a very tasty stout. (shared w Rune @The Bishops Arms (Luleå) Su25May2014)
3.7 bottle shared by VT, thanks bro. pours unclear dark brown witha small light beige head, some retention and lacing. bitter chocolate, slightly powdery, cups of bitter coffee, fresh grains - as though it’s hard to believe there’s no coffee grains in this brew, smoky and woodsy, moderate sweetness - molasses and vanilla, touch of spices. moderate to low carbonation, light body - oily, balanced by an assertive smoky-grassy-resinous-bitter coffee finish. smoky. foreign. tasty.
3.8 Tap. Watched the bartender dump 5 ounces down the drain getting me 9. Thick brownish black body. Massive beige head. Pleasant in the lowish ABV. Almost has some lactic milk stout traits. Doughy bakers chocolate. Different and unique from most Imperial Stouts. I’d be pretty comfortable classifying this as an export/sweet stout. Nice. Lingering brown chocolate finish.
3.9 Bottle. Poured a nice black-brown color with a large brown head. Nice light chocolate character, roasted malts. Flavor was decent chocolate notes, some roast, light mint/leafy notes. Pretty tasty.
3.4 Bottle at Bar Kino, Goetborg, 23/03/14. Pitch blak with a god sized tan covering that retains well. Nose is toffee fudge, spice, caramel, light soap, vanilla, dark berry fruits, subtle roast. Taste comprises light roast, vanilla fudge, dark malt, toffee, chocolate. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, sweet and roasted close. Ok easy drinking impy but so so for style, lacks any real depth to the flavours.
3.4 Aroma of chocolate, raisins, licorice maybe? Not much lacing. Mouth feel is average.
3.2 Temporary rating. At some point I might re-write this. Black, rather small blackish brown head, quick diss, small to no trace. Sour,, malty, roasted malts, cereal, cheap red wine, hay, wood, caramel, red wine vinegar, Bitter, tiny sour, malty, tiny fruity, roasted malts, choc, coffee, cereal, otoasted oatmeal flakes, cheap red wine, raisins, prunes, hay, soil, wood, lemon zest, Round, tiny astringent, tiny tart, medium. Bitter, malty, roasted malts, choc, ash, coffee, hay, wood, oatmeal cookies. Smell made me think major infection but it’s not and it still holds up well.
