2.8Can from Beer52. Canned Oct 2018; BB Oct 2019; Drank Jan 2019 - 4.8% abv. Hazy yellow with a medium frothy white head. Malty; light wheaty malts. Fruity; lemon citrus. Mildly spicy. Moderately sweet lightly wheaty malty citrus notes and light spice. Bland but drinkable. (2019-01)
1.8Hazy straw in colour. Minimal head and aroma. A little underwhelming other than a subtle banana flavour.
3.6[12oz can from the Beer52 box for January.] A slightly hazy amber pour with a thick cream coloured head; yeasty aroma with a hint of banana; grainy body with a gentle spiced banana taste, and a touch of apricot. A pleasant hefeweizen.
3.0From Beer52 had at home Feb 19. 35.5cl can nice for a Weizen.
2.9Slightly hazy pour, pale yellow, lacy white head. Flavour is subtle, bread, light citrus, low bitterness. A bit bland, but it's crisp and clean.
2.2It is very citrus, don't find it smooth rather a bit rough. Drinkable, refreshing but ultimately very forgettable.
3.5Aroma is wheat malt and dough. Taste is somewhat sweet with wheat malt and subtle clove and banana. Good carbonation.
3.0Doesn’t pretend to be anything it isn’t. Light bodied with subtle citrus and slightly fruity flavours. Light bodied and easy drinking. I like more from my beers but this seems ok for what it is.
2.9This is at what you might politely call the "bog-standard" end of the wheat beer scale. Too soft and smooth for a proper pale but a bit thin and bitter to feel like a proper wheat. It's not terrible but it's neither one thing nor the other and has a bit of a rough aftertaste. Drinkable but forgettable.
2.3Twelve ounce bottle. A "light" hefeweizen on a hot, humid day. The timing was right for this beer, it is kinda watered down for a hefeweizen, without the bite or fizz. Low on aroma, a bit of lemon zest though.
2.9(can) - Pours large white head. Body is a cloudy dark golden. Light pineapple aroma. Flavor of pineapple, and a bitter hop character which seems a bit much for s Hefeweizen.
3.4Flat boring no taste like a shitty ribeiner id rather eat a bag of coks. Or drown in a sea of unicorn coks
2.5Yellow pour, monstrous head. 5 minutes later i can finally start this one. Aroma is yeast, light citrus, wheat. Taste is prettmuch the same, yeast, lemon, wheat, very light spice that my palate has a hard time picking out. Lighter body. Refreshing, but i'll (reluctantly) reach for a circus boy every time over this one. Ponder that for a second.
3.0Old rating....just a totally down the middle wheat beer. Decently yeasty with citrus notes. Pretty normal.
3.1On tap in a pils glass. Yellow body big white head. Lemon wheat nose. Light body, slightly acidic, high carbonation. Simple, lacking the clove and wheat flavors I expect in a hefe.
2.8Yellow pour, white head. aroma of yeasty, wheat, light citrus. tastes are lemony citrus, banana, herbal. bit watery.
3.2(Tap) cloudy, bright yellow orange colour with a small beige head; aroma of lilies; smooth palate; balanced flavour with a medium long, light tart finish; competent
2.9Completely bland wheat beer. Pale color with fizzy head. Aroma is light lemon, biscuit, cracker, seltzer. Taste is bland minerally and lightly sweet.
3.112oz bottle pours out wheat color topped with white head. Nose is grassy hops some light wheat and grain notes. Taste is more of the grassy notes grainy and a little wheat.
2.9Pours a hazy golden yellow color. Aromas of bread/lemon/and some fruit. Had a taste of yeasty bread with some spice.
2.0Okay, this is categorized as a wheat ale even though it says hefeweizen on the label, which is appropriate because as a hefe it is fucking terrible and almost all American "wheat ales" are terrible. Nice cloudy orange straw with lasting head and lace. Mild honey malt aroma. Light honey malt sweetness with a little grassiness and green grapes and a little wheat tang and a lot of water. WTF? Very watery tasting. Very very little flavor. Light body (which is okay with me) and fairly soft. Just fucking flavorless. JESUS. Drain.
3.6I love the hefeweizen style, so I figured I’d like this before I even tasted it, but objectively, I think this is a beer that can’t really be knocked for any legitimate reason. It tastes like a lot of other hefeweizens, sure, but it doesn’t try too hard to be gimmicky and end up tasting weird as a result. It’s a solid, safe beer.
2.9Bottle. Aroma is yeasty cheese and citrusy hops. Appearance is hazy yellow. Taste is true to aroma as mix of mild sweet and sour. Palate is light-bodied with fairly thin and slightly slick texture. Carbonation is soft and finish is short and yeasty. Overall, true to the style but not particularly robust in any category.
2.6Pours a cloudy yellow with a white head. Nose is faint. While I like the beer, it does lack hefe character - yeasty, bubblegum is lacking. Enjoy it for what it is - a good beer.
2.8Draught @ The Sevens Ale House, Boston, MA
Pours hazy golden with a white head. Aroma has notes of malt, wheat, yeast and hint of banana. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a long wheat and slightly banana finish. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.
3.0Hazy , yellow color . Yeast , banana and citrus in aroma. Wheat , citrus and some hoppy bitterness in taste. Very simple ,however, Strange brew , not easy to classify ).
2.9Aroma OK taste bandaid and phenolics. Hazy aa it should be. Flavor is off.
2.6I wasn’t too impressed with this being a microbrew and all. It’s basically an average wheat beer at best. Not much color (a light golden yellow), not much flavor. A little bit cloudy but thin and semi-clear. This was the first time I bought Harpoon, so not the best first impression.
3.512 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before 1/15/2015. Pours hazy deep golden color with a 1 finger fairly dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of lemon, pear, apple, banana, white grape, wheat, bread, light clove, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Okay aromas with solid balance of fruity/earthy yeast and bready malt notes; with decent strength. A bit too fruity/slightly metallic in the nose. Taste of lemon, pear, apple, banana, white grape, wheat, bread, herbal, grass, light clove, and yeast earthiness. Light yeast spice/wheat tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, pear, apple, banana, white, grape, wheat, bread, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Good balance and robustness of fruity/earthy yeast and bready malt flavors; with zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, crisp, and fairly creamy/bready mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish as expected of 5%. Overall this is a solid pale wheat ale style. All around good robustness and balance of fruity/earthy yeast and bready malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A pleasantly enjoyable offering.
3.312 oz bottle served in pint glass [from notes].
Some sediment in bottle; added to glass. Give very mild aste, I recommend you give the bottle a swirl mid-pour to mix in the yeasty sediment and add flavor.
Wheat beer not a favorite category for this reviewer
A - moderately cloudy light yellow gold; white head with some staying power
S - very mild standard wit beer with no off-notes and faint fruity notes
T - very mild; "wit beer light". Taste is good but intensity should be higher. Nice balance of bitter, sweet and sour. Clean finish.
M - light, soft and fizzy (but not objectionably so)
D- easy and pleasant to drink. Very good for thirst quenching or to accompany mildly flavored foods; not bold or complex enough to hold interest as a sipper.
