3.7 Cask at Weatherspoons, Eastbounrne. A very yummy golden ale, has more flavour in bottle I think but feels very homely in cask.
3.1 Cask. Pours golden with white lace top. Aroma modestly hop fruits. Taste has biscuity malts with a lemon hop finish and some sourness on the palate. Unspectacular.
3.5 Cask. Yellow Gold. Very hoppy (floral, grassy) over malt base. Pronounced grapefruit citrusy taste. Nice sharp bitterness. Citrus hop bitter finish. Refreshing. Nice beer. (2008)
2.9 Cask at the White Hart in Holburn. Yellow color with a foamy head. Nose of bread and citrus Taste is clean and notes of toast anf grain. A floral hop bite keeps it from being bland. Not bad but not special or as interesting as the name would imply
3.2 Cask at the SixBells, Cambridge. Mid- to dark gold, with a small pool of loose white head. Decent amount of lacing. Grapefruit, grass, a bit of butterscotch. Nicely bitter taste, not much to it but pleasant enough. Full body for the ABV. Massive bitter finish and long aftertaste, with some woody astringency right at the end. Simple and not one to remember but decent enough.
3.4 Cask at the Lamb, Chiswick. Dark gold with a thin white head. Light citrus and malt nose. Biscuity malt, a hint of caramel and a firm dry bitterness.
3.8 Pint into shaker from cask at Scotish pub. Clear with a fluffy creamy white head with great retention and lacing. Smooth body, full, and creamy. Nose is mild, a little nutty, a little grassy. Taste is lightly bitter, slightly herbal, a little grassy. Very nice, easy to drink, enjoyable pub beer.
3.3 On hand pull rochdale beer festival 2015 lovely bitter with dark fruit caramel and a good hoppy finish well rounded
2.0 Pours golden with a white foamy head. Aroma is a little non existent. A very smooth beer but there’s next to no taste, a little bit of bitterness I guess.
3.5 11/17/2010 1:21:56 PM On cask at Wildeman. Nice golden body with plenty of pop. Medium head. Citrus and hoppy nose. Taste is quite sweet with citrus notes. Gets bitter. Nice and filling.
3.5 tap - great English bitter. Still a style I won’t go crazy about but the lightl bread notes and floral and earthy hops play off each other well. Sessionably good.
3.6 Tap at scotts, troon harbour. Clear deep golden color, smooth white head. Aroma has smooth sweet malts, creamy notes, also fruity notes. Smooth as silk, sweet malty, bitterish, tasty.
3.6 Real ale@Jacobite Lounge, Fort William. Golden color, creamy white head. Fruity hop aroma. Smooth flavor with citric hops, rich malts. Medium-full body, very low carbonation. One of the better real ales I've tried.
3.5 Maker: Harviestoun, Alva, Scotland. *** Beer: Bitter & Twisted (Cask, at The Standing Order, Edinburgh) *** Style: Golden Ale *** ALC.VOL.: 3.8% *** Colour: Bright golden yellow, clear; medium, fluffy off-white head. *** Nose: Lemon, honey, grass.*** Texture: Medium body, strikingly non-watery considering the low ABV. Creamy even! Soft carbonation. *** Taste: Lemon, cucumber, floral hops, some herbs. As usual, floral hops increase towards the middle, while fruit flavors disappear. Agreeably malty background for balance. Lemon returns and then dominates the finish, along with floral notes. Bitterness actually increases in the hoppy aftertaste. *** Impressions: A far more interesting beer than its low ABV suggests. Refreshing, eminently quaffable, but not bland. These qualities are rarely found together in a light golden ale. Good beer.
3.6 On tap. Clear amber pour with thin white head. Aroma is bitter citrus, orange and hops. Minimal carbonation. Lots of fruit followed by fresh hops and resin. Aftertaste is orange with a dry finish.
3.6 Draught at The Griffin, Glasgow 150419. Clar golden amber with very creamy white head and fizzy. Fresh lemon and some hay in the nose. Full malty taste with a lemon twist. Very nice bitterness. Excellent.
3.4 3.8.2014. Pours golden. Nose and taste is lemon, honey, bitter grapefruit. Very drinkable.
3.3 Gravity dispense at the Happy Man Spring BF, 20/03/15. Clear golden yellow with a decent off white cap. Nose is citric zing, fresh grass, melon, light bread dough, tangerine. Taste comprises toasted malt, lemon rind, straw, light bread dough, bitter orange. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close with light hop bitterness. Decent GB, plenty of citric jus and zing keep this one moving along nicely.
2.8 Cask at heriot watt beer festival. Pours golden, nose is floral, citrus, taste is light fruit, toffee.
3.4 Nice and bitter with a lemony flavours mixed in. Bitterness long lasting. Enjoyable and easy to drink beer. Not as creamy as it appears. Flavour is ok but not out of this world. Very good bitter.
3.0 Arôme de citron sur une biere plutot légère. Classique bitter pour le reste sans intérêt particulier.
3.3 Cask at White Hart, London. Slightly hazy yellow, still, small bubbly white head endures. Aroma is musty citrus, light bubblegum, toffee. Body is medium, smooth, touch of carbonation. Taste is straw, cucumber, floral perfume, a little drying, soft bitterness. Pretty good overall.
3.8 On cask at Bennett’s, Edinburgh with Lawrie. Clear light amber colour with a white head. Aroma is toasted malt, sweet juicy fruit along with some more grassy hop notes. The flavour is a lovely mix of fruity and green grassy hop flavours with a lasting final. A great pub session ale.
3.6 Clear golden with good white head. Subtle aroma of caramel and light hops. Medium body with good carbonation. Nice hoppy bitterness over a good soft caramel maltiness. Great beer.
3.7 Transfer from BA review on 6-2-13- Served on tap in a chalice glass Appearance – The beer was served a nice golden color with a one finger white head. The head faded rather rapidly leaving a moderate level of lace on the sides of the glass. Smell- The aroma was a blend of hops (herbal, earthy, floral, lemon and grassy) mixed with a biscuit malt and some straw and caramel. Taste – The taste begins with a moderately strong showing of a biscuit caramel and malt flavor with only hints of hop. The hop quickly comes though with flavors of a lemon hop appearing on the scene first followed by some earthy and grassy hop flavors later on. Toward the end, the floral hop flavors mix with the rest of the hop with a good dose of sour lemon coming to the tongue. With a loss of some of the malty flavors a clean and crisp taste of hop and malt is left to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel- The body of the beer is rather light in body with a carbonation level that is rather average. The thinner/lighter body is great for the drinkability but seem to hinder some of the nice hop flavors to really shine through. Overall – It is rather refreshing and has quite a complex taste for such a light bodied brew. A good one to try.
3.2 Smooth fresh beginning, hints of lemon, fresh, hints of grain. easy to drink with a smooth fresh body. Grainy-fresh aftertaste, fresh lemon hints, nice and refreshing!!
3.4 On cask at Grayfriar’s Bobby. Gold pour, foamy white head. Light floral flavor, hoppy with sweet buttery notes. Creamy with a dry finish.
3.1 Pint at the Three Stags, Bebington. Hazy golden with off-white head. Aroma of malt, and fruity hops. Taste is fairly sweet, and fruity too.
3.0 Firkin at Yards Real Ale. Pours a clean gold with thin off-white head. Aroma of grain, nut, fruit and pungent sulfur. Medium body, bitter finish.
3.5 On cask at Rustico in Arlington VA. Pours a clear gold with a thin bubbly head. Aroma of tropical fruits. Flavors orange and bubblegum. Light to medium bodied. Light carbonation. Clean finish.
