This is the new recipe replacing the original He’Brew Genesis ale. Balanced between a West Coast style pale and amber ale with just enough malt sweetness to highlight a flurry of hop aroma and flavor. Witness the evolution of our original creation.

3.6Bottle from bhensonb. Pours amber with a nice beige head and a toffee aroma. There is a medium-bodied pale malt flavor with a bitter finish.
3.5(bottle - 12 oz) Copper pour with a fluffy white head. Lots of citrus in the aroma with some floral hints and pine resin. Caramel malts and pine resin in the flavor at the start with a flowery and dry hop hint in the middle. Dry and slightly bitter at the finish. Quite good.
3.6Rated based on notes taken 17 Aug 2012 -- I must have liked this brew because I rated it high without any notes.
4.4Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass.
Aroma- Had a nice hop/citrus and yeasty malt aroma
Appearance- A murky copper color with a nice sized white head.
Taste- A real good flavor of citrus, malt, yeast and hops. Had a real good blended flavor
Palate- A medium bodied beer with moderate carbonation.
Overall- I liked this brew a lot, I will drink it again
3.3amber color; mild floral hop aroma; very light malt with mild, citrusy, floral hops; a light, easy drinking session bee
3.2Clear , amber color ; small , white head . Aroma of caramel , bread ,grass and citrus. Malt, bread and sharp hoppy bitterness in the end.
3.712 ounce bottle, no dating on the bottle that I could find. Served in a pint glass, this one was a gusher as soon as I opened the bottle. The head was huge and I had to let it settle down for a while before I drank it. The brew smelled mostly like citrusy (citrus peel, grapefruit) and pine hops, and some caramel and bready malt. I thought the taste was pretty much just like the aroma, but with the addition of some tea, earthiness and dried fruit. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it’s coating and is well carbonated. I liked this brew a lot, but at 5.5% it seems a bit strong for a "session" ale. But that’s not a complaint at all, however I would like to try this one fresher next time. I got this bottle from a friend so I really have no idea how old this bottle was. But it’s certainly worth a try!
3.4bottle @ Party Town / Florence KY ---Clear dark amber, white head cover, strings of lace dots. Taste is a quick shot of caramel that is followed quickly by a solid hop presence that stays right through a medium finish that has an unsweetened tea thing going on the back end. A big brew for 5.6%, and light enough to have several.
3.4Bottle. Pours amber with a small off-white head. Aroma was bready with caramel, citrus and pine. Flavor of pine, bread, citrus, grapefruit, caramel and had some fruitiness.
2.6Bottle. Pours a dark gold with a high, pillowy, lacy, off-white head. Nose is tangerine, red grapefruit, and honestly not much else. Some hops up front, followed by mild citrusy sweetness. Carbonation is low. Finish is, again, mild with a little hops and an interesting fresh strawberry note. There’s just not a lot to this beer -- I kept wanting a volume control so I could turn it up.
2.6Pours Clear copper color with long lasting white head. Aroma is grainy, a bit of roast malts, a bit of a macro feel to it. I don’t get much hop aroma. Taste is caramel malts, grain, faint floral hops. Slight bitterness. Medium body, medium carbonation. Not a bad beer, but really doesn’t stand out. I wouldn’t seek this out.
2.3Clear dull amber with minimal ring of offwhite head. uninspiring and dull faded earthy hops. Matly sweet, but with apple fruitiness. Maybe a fresh bottle would be a different story, but this one was pretty much old hop cracker and caramel. bleh.
3.2355 ml bottle. Tasted while in NYC. Pours a golden colour with thin head. Aroma is roasted malts. Not one of the best Session, but still decent.
3.5Bottle at home in Salisbury. Pours deep gold with a frothy, off-white head the aroma holds dried pale malts, biscuits, pithy citrus and a bit of orange rind. Light to medium sweet flavor with moderate bitterness, slight grass, pine needles, dry pale bread, so e lemon and tangerine pith light rind. Light to medium in body with average carbonation. Decent balance to finish, more of the same character-wise. Nothing wrong here.
3.4a decent session pale ale. very malty and hoppy start with a malty and bitter finish. smells malty with some pine notes. pours copper in color with a thick tan head. had a 12oz bottle pour at home.
2.9Look: pours a cloudy orange. White pillowy head.
Smell: dish soap. Citrus. Grapefruit pith. Orange. Taste:tangerine. Grapefruit. Very bitter.
Feel: very dry. Leaves a thick film in the mouth.
Overall: ok beer. Need more malt. A little overly hoppy for a session beer. Just don't like the type of bitterness.
First drank: home 12/2/14
2.112 oz bottle from BOTW (Rochester), served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass.
App.: Clear light amber with a full, rocky, light tan head.
Aroma: Smells infected...tangy, peppery herbal hops, quite lemony, moderate biscuit maltiness, has potential in an uninfected form.
Palate: Medium body, with full, rounded carbonation...probably too much carbonation.
Flav.: Bitter herbs (infection) with pretty big citrus notes, limited malt support, peppery; dry with fair bitterness and a lightly infected, citrus and herbal finish.
I expected better from these guys.
3.6Malty aroma, almost has a bit of a burnt malt aroma to it. Taste is malty, roasted malt. Palate seems slightly watery for how malty it seems. Good beer, but nothing special based on the other shmaltz beers I have had, but a solid all around beer for the masses.
2.8Bem diferente e exclusiva não é uma das minhas favoritas, mas bem interessante
3.6Got this in the bottle from Woks and Lox event in NYC. It was one of the first beers that I enjoyed throughout and made my digestive system actually enhanced from it. I love He'Brew for this.
2.412oz bottle -
Definitely a session with little in terms of both hops and malt. A bit too astringent for my liking, like instead of hops they added aspirin. I didn’t find much appealing about this beer to WANT to drink several of these. I barely wanted to finish my bottle.
3.2Bottle at Ale Mary, Baltimore, September 2014. Amber in colour with, a decent, off-white, head. Some citrus hops, sweet tangerine fruit, crisp malts and a moderately bitter finish. Fine.
4.0Attractive pour. Copper body with a long lasting large bubbly off white head. Floral hops very aromatic. Almost brett type flavors. Dry finish. Some subtle nut malt in the background. Quite a nice session ale.
3.912 ounce bottle into pint glass, no bottle dating. Pours slightly hazy deep orange/copper color with a 1-2 finger dense and fluffy light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, caramel, toast, toffee, biscuit, floral, grass, light pine, and floral/toasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus hops and dark/bready malt sweetness; with good strength. Taste of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, caramel, toast, toffee, biscuit, floral, grass, pine, and floral/toasted earthiness. Fair amount of floral/pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, pineapple, lemon/orange peel, caramel, toast, toffee, biscuit, light pine, and floral/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity and robustness of citrus hops and dark/bready malt flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, fairly crisp, and lightly creamy/sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice amber ale. All around good complexity and balance of citrus hops and dark/bready malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.
2.812 oz. bottle. Amber color with thin head. Aroma is caramel malt, mild floral and pine hops. The dry hopping is all about aromatics and it really didn’t help the flavor here in any way shape or form.
Really plain flavors, grain, caramel malt, medium bodied with a somewhat slick mouthfeel. No bitterness to speak of and overall just boring. No bottle date found on bottle but where I bought this; bottles really don’t sit around long on the shelf. But it tastes way older than I guessing it is. The neck label says it this brew won a silver medal. I only taste a swing and a miss here.
1.7Drank from a twelve ounce bottle. I am not a big hops fan, I purchased this because I thought it was a Genesse product, lol. The beer has nice citrus aromas and I can smell the dry-hopping. The initial taste of bread, slight malts and can really taste the complexity of the hops. Was not a fan but the taste tickles my tounge.
2.8"Think i had this a bit past it’s prime, as the other reviews on here are older than mine, and this "hoppy" session brew had a rather weak, uninspired hop profile. Light citrus and bready malts, average across the board."
3.4I had this at Global Brew. Pours amber with a white head. Taste Carmel, sweet, lightly bitter. I thought this was ok. I could drink this again.
