Brewed with the juice of over 10,000 luscious pomegranates, ORIGIN is a complex, rich and balanced Imperial Amber Ale with a truly unique character. The pomegranate juice is added during fermentation, leaving only the residual sugars, which serve to balance the hop bitterness.

3.5@ Party Source / Bellevue KY --- Refreshing aroma of malt and fruit. Hazy deep amber with a 2" head that gradually drops to a cover, cobwebs of lace. Taste is semi-sweet fruity malt that blooms nicely in the palate before diminishing nicely in a lingering finish. As a fruit beer, this is exceptional - fruit is present, but not cloying; malt is present, but willingly takes a back seat. Good brew.
3.4Well, lets start with aroma. Mild pomegranate, definite sweetness. Taste is pomegranate, lots of sugars, alcohol definitely comes through. Reminds me I am drinking a beer and not just pomegranate juice! A lot of these rater must have not had pomegranate before trying this... compare the two please!
2.3Pours a clear amber with an off white head. Has almost no aroma. Taste is smooth and clean with a little sweet. Leaves a tart after taste.
3.522 oz. bottle from Jungle Jim’s-Eastgate. Pours a somewhat cloudy tea color with a small ring for a head. Notes of caramel, pomegranate, tea, some woody and leafy earthiness, and a little bit of candied nuts. Light-medium bodied, with moderate carbonation and a smooth, moderately boozy mouthfeel. Better than ratings indicate.
3.5Pours a cloudy amber with a finger thick tan head. Smell is not strong but it does smell like pomegranate. Taste is almost wine-like fruity and slightly hoppy with a lasting sour/bitterness. Mouthfeel is good with light carbonation. This is a good example of what a fruit beer can be not too sweet or sour.
2.9Bomber pours a hazy golden copper with very faint ring of clearish white head. Very sweet and a little medicinal. Definitely better as an additive in their blended rejuvenations, but not as a stand alone offering. a little tart and a little bitter. meh.
3.2Bottle at Mikey Holiday bash
Clear golden with a off-white head and some lacing. Aroma and flavors are malty, caramel and fruity
OK
3.2Bottle from local market at Sunnyvale, California. Colour is deep dark orange with small white head. Aromas and flavours: Fruits, floral, sweetness and malts. Quite juicy.
3.1draft at Blue Monk, medium bodied amber pour. caramel malt richness, some pomegarnate juice sweetness. sweet, somewhat fruity. OK
3.0I had this at Global Brew. Pours amber in color with a off white head. Taste fruity, malt, sweet, earthy. I thought this was so so. I would pass on this again.
3.3Bottle. Pours a hazy dark red-amber with a rocky, cream head with massive amounts of lace. Nose is intensely fruity with woody and herbal overtones. Not as sweet as I was expecting on the tongue, but there’s definite pomegranate, nutmeg, wood, herbal/hops bitterness, and vanilla. There’s a lot going on in this beer, and the finish just keeps opening up wider. Great complexity, and definitely worth a long look. I like it a lot.
3.2Smells like pomegranite but taste is more like a lager. Pretty good, but nothing too spectacular.
3.0Poured from a 22 ounce bomber. This is an aged example of the beer. The aroma is vinous, woody, with a hint of tartness in the background. The flavor is malty, toffee, fruity, hints of tartness. Not a bad beer, would be better fresh.
1.9Appearance: very hazy darker amber color, small tan head that dissipates quickly
Aroma: malty caramel, pretty faint, pomegranate
Taste: deep roasted malt, almost a coffee flavor, some pomegranate
Palate: higher carbonation, leaves an alcohol and slightly pomegranate aftertaste,
Overall: very big let down for me, I guess the flavor of the pomegranate is not citrusy enough, it tastes like alcohol
3.4Cloudy amber pour with a thin ring of white head .... aroma of caramel malts, orange, sweet over ripe fruity yeast, sugary and light orange ..... taste is of dry pomegranate, sweet and over ripe fruity yeast, caramel malts and a light bitter hop bite .... has some citrusy orange overtones as well .... finish is dry and bitter .... abv is hidden well
3.6Fresh at the daily pint, I actually really enjoyed this beer, easy to drink, chocolate and coffee notes
3.5Interesting pomagranite flavor. Poured from a bomber. Solid mouthfeel; bready/grain finish. Finishes with slight burnt flavor and bitter w/alc. 8.45 BD 7-11-12. 8 Joek
3.322 oz. bottle. Pours a clear amber color with a large off white head. The aroma is pomegranate juice, herbal and earthy notes, caramel, with a dusty quality. The flavor is mild to moderate sweet malts, caramel, pomegranate juice, with some herbal and earthy hops. It is a bit thinner than most of the Hebrew beers I’ve had. Just ok.
3.8The appearance is a hazy auburn color with a large off-white head, and the aroma consists of caramel malts, dough yeast, and a general fruity sourness (which isn’t specifically pomegranate). When sipped, the taste is quite sour, but this is nicely balanced against a mild sweetness and the overall mouthfeel, which is comprised of a medium body, average carbonation, slick texture, and a finish that isn’t sour whatsoever but is still malty and long.
3.1Bottle - Caramel, sweet malts, boozey, more like a barley wine. Clear copper no head. Boozey and tastes like a barley wine. Spicy and lots of burn, not sure what they were going for, not that great.
3.1This beer has a cloudy brown appearance and sweet fruity aroma. It is slightly bitter with a hint of sweet summer fruit. It is like a brown crossed with a fruit infused beer.
3.9An okay beer. Medium bodied with a slick mouthfeel. Not as much sweetness as I was hoping, rather bland.
3.2Craft beer tasting dinner at the Brownstone, round one:
Clear medium amber, small foamy tan head fades. Fruity caramel malt aroma. Taste is rich and sweet caramel toffee malt, with a light berry fruitiness behind, and not much else. Soft carbonation, medium bodied, lightly hopped. ABV is well hidden. Almost cloying as it warms, sweet malty fruity finish. NFL (Not For Lagerboys) Interesting pairing with chili, truffle and rhubarb flavored popcorn.
3.212oz bottle pours a hazy amber color with a medium off white head that leaves good lacing. Smells of caramel, toffee, pomegranate, and dark fruit. Tastes of all the same things in the smell but the pomegranate flavor wasn’t as prevalent as I remember it being when I had it fresh from a growler about a year and a half ago Mouthfeel is slick and oily with medium carbonation. Overall this is just mediocre. Slightly better on tap than from the bottle. Won’t be seeking this out again unless I find it on draft.
2.912oz bottle. Best thing I can say about this is that I didn’t hate it. Not a fan of fruit beers usually and was afraid something with pomegranate would taste like soda but it was very subtle. Actually tastes like beer though a tad too sweet for my taste.
2.6nothing special, bitter, not very much to say. ABV sure doesn’t feel or taste 8%, I would say 6% at best. Like I said, nothing special.
2.9Bottle. Poured a hazy medium amber with a medium-sized off-white head. Aroma was fruity (but not particularly pomegranate), caramel, floral, touch of citrus. Flavor was moderately malty and fruity. Mild bitterness. Medium body. Moderately sweet.
3.0cloudy amber, thick light tan head of fine bubbles. Nose of pomegranate, raisin, Belgian yeast and candi sugar. Taste is kind of tart, light alcohol, spicy from the yeast, lightly hopped with earthy hops, slight kick or alcohol burn on the finish. Fairly fruity
3.2Uploading old ratings that were missing comments. Pomegranate is certainly up front. An enjoyable brew but doesn't really seem like beer.
3.0Aroma of floral tones with a beautiful dirty amber pour, balanced taste and lingering mouthfeel.
