2.7 5oz sampler from the brewpub NYC. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a frothy white head. Aroma of citrus and wheat. Taste of lemon, wheat, yeast, and some citrus zest.
2.6 Tap at Heartland, Union Square, 24/11/13. Lightly hazed golden with a moderate off white covering. Nose is wheat, spice, citric notes, lemon rind, bread dough. Taste follows, light butterscotch tang, citrics, spice, straw. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, grassy finale. Mediocre.
2.7 Ljusgul grumlig med litet skum! Doftar citrus och det finns i smaken med! Ingen klassisk veteöl!?
2.2 Pours a hazy yellow. Has a very sweet and sour lemon aroma. Taste is heavy in wheat with some lemon, malt and light hops.
2.8 Draft from backlog. Pours yellow gold with white head. Nose and taste of banana, bubblegum, toasted wheat malt and light lemon. Lighter medium body.
2.0 27.06.2013, tap @ Heartland Brewery & Rotisserie NY: Nice creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly fruity, light malts, winegum, butterscotch, yeast, hints of citrus. Taste is slightly dry, light malts, hay, yeast, toast, cardboard. Medium bitterness, slightly dry mouthfeel. Next!
2.6 From tap. Pours hazy yellow with a small white head. Aroma is mild estery and light fruity. Medium sweet and light toasted malty flavoured. Light bitter and mild toasted finish.
2.4 18th Jan 2013: New York, ESB location. Hazy/cloudy pale yellow, a bit of a white crown on top. Vanilla esters in the aroma and taste: overall a bit sweet and not impressed. Thin bodied and wishy-washy in general: this was not to my taste at all. It lacked character and any strong flavours to get into. Refreshing it maybe but I wanted something to quench my thirst and give me a reason to have another one.
2.6 Cloudy pale yellow with a bright white head and ok lace. Grain and wheat aromas with a touch of banana and spice. Grainy flavors accompanied by subtle lemony citrus. Light body, effervescent, and a clean finish.
1.9 Not as good as the others on the tasting menu at Heartland Chop House just easy of Times Square in New York City. I usually like wheat beers but this one tasted flat and the squeeze of lemon didn't help it much. F Avey
2.9 Better than the lager but not excellent, drank at the pub in nyc, fresh and tasted like blue moon
3.2 Draught at Heartland Brewery (Empire State Building) NYC sept 2012. A bit hazy golden beer with a small offwhite head. Toffee, hoppy and sweet aronma. Sweet citrus, hoppy and wheaty flavour.
2.2 [keg, Heartland Brewpub, New York City] Pours an opaque yellowish orange, with a large white head. Aroma is predominantly of yeast, banana, spices. Quite a faint taste, unfortunately, the yeasty breadyness don’t really come to much, then the banana becomes quite overpowering [24112012]
2.5 Tap Sample at the Union Square location. Cloudy yellow color with a small white head. Citrus nose with some yeast and light spice. Flavor of citrus peels, chewy wheat malt, banana ice cream and some harsh graininess. Light-med bodied, some creaminess and alcohol is present. So so.
1.8 Too light, almost white color... Unfortunatelly very boring taste and bad palate... And Americans please tell me, why this stupid lemon in a normal wheat beer?!?
2.9 On tap at Heartland Brewery and Chophouse - 43rd St, August 2012. Light amber with a small head. Aroma and taste of light malt, yeast, some citrus, caramel and wheat. Thin and quite boring.
2.8 Tap @ Heartland 43rd st. Nice head with good duration. Color is hazy golden. Aroma and taste are wheat malt, yeast, coriander, citrus and hops.
3.3 Enjoying this one at the Empire State building. Pours a cloudy golden colour. Strong caramel nose and grain. Taste is the same, but a little tamer. A little bitterness in the end. A nice session beer.
3.2 On draft at the south street seaport location. Served with a lemon. A nice hazy yellow color with a nice white head. Classic wheat yeast notes. Light banana. Great summer wheat.
3.4 Notes from 2008 visit. Light amber/yellow cloudy wheat beer with white head. Nose is yeasty, lemon, grainy, clove. Taste is grainy, lemon, head is very nice and creamy.
2.9 Draught at Heartland (Empire State Building, NYC), on January 30, 2012 Murky yellow color, white head. Malty, some ester taste, a bit bland. Medium mouthfeel, low bitterness. Acidic and citrus scent.
2.5 On tap sans lemon wedge. Pours with a hazy to murky yellow hued body with some good lace and decent retention from the white head. Aromas are bland, grainy, mild esters and mild caramel. Flavors are incredibly bland. grainy, caramel, wheat. Medium dry, lighter bitterness, malty. Medium bubbles, dry. Clean. Really not much here.
1.9 Sample @ Heartland Times Square. Served with a little lemon wedge, which was nice in that it broke up the monotony of the sampler platter. OK, is this important, or even different? No. But it’s the nicest thing I have to say about this beer and I gave it an extra Appearance point because of it. Otherwise, pretty boring even for the style. Good cloudy appearance. Standard citrusy aroma. Flavor is pretty non-existent. Definitely my least favorite of the sampler.
2.5 Draught at Radio City. Hazy light orange with a white head, nice lacings. Atoma moderate malty, wheat, notes of fruit, and hopy, grassy. Flavor moderate sweet, acidic and bitter. Medium body.
3.0 Light golden yellowish color with a slight haze. Served with a lemon wedge. Small fine-laced head. Light gentle malt aroma. Soft smooth wheaty texture. Light-bodied. Some citrus notes from hops shine through towards the finish. Enjoyable
1.9 Sample @ Heartland Midtown West, New York, NY Pours hazy golden with a white head. Aroma has notes of malt, wheat and floral hops. Taste is light sweet and light bitter. Body is light, texture is thin, carbonation is soft.
2.5 Nothing amazing but not that bad either. Typical wheat with some citrus in the background
3.0 5 oz. sampler. light cloudy golden pour with a 1/2" white head. light orange nose. light body with a touch of citrus notes, some malt peaking through and a softness throughout. orange zest finish with sweet malts.
3.2 A nice, refreshing American wheat. Pretty standard. Sometimes not enough head retention.
