Ingredients: Malts: British Pale Ale Malt, Cara Malt, Malted Wheat. Heather, Bogmyrtle (Sweet Gale).
The Brotherhood have been guardians of the ancient Gaelic recipe for "leann fraoich" (heather ale) since 1988 and are proud to be the only brewery still producing this unique style of beer and distributing it world wide. A light amber ale with floral peaty aroma, full malt character, and a spicy herbal finish - This beer allows you to literally pour 4000 years of Scottish history into a glass. Into the boiling bree of malted barley, sweet gale and flowering heather are added, then after cooling slightly the hot ale is poured into a vat of fresh heather flowers where it infuses for an hour before being fermented.

2.6Aroma : Light sweet caramel malt, with floral/peatty/earthy hop and a good dose of herbage! Taste : Quite light and fresh, couldn't say the strong herby note is heather though. Decent bitter-sweet balance with a slight stinging nettle tingle on the tongue in the finish. O.K. wouldn't make a session of it though!
2.8Clear golden appearance. Aroma is herbal, malt and earthy, not a very appealing aroma. Flavour is bitter, cherry, malt, dry, hop and herbal.
2.9500 ml bottle from Beer Hawk, bb 01/2021.
Deep gold/light amber, crystal clear, white head.
Nose - sweet, heather, honey.
Taste - sweeter than nose.
No.
3.9Very interesting brew. Very sweet with some obvious ginger and sweetness and floral notes. Thin fading head. Nose is honey enjoyable.
3.0BPA Delft in 't Proeflokaal. 50 cl bottle. BB 07/2020. A gold yellow clear beer with a good white foam at the beginning. Aroma is some sweet, resin like hop bitterness, herbs, fruity with apple, light peach and raspberry. Taste is light sweet, fruity, bitterness in aftertaste. Also flowers.
3.0The heather is not really apparent. Light on the palate. Crisp with subtle bitterness
3.0Need more heather !!
Appearance Amber color, transparent. Aroma
Aroma: Weak honey-berry
Taste: malt rolling in grassy shades.
Well balanced beer, but I would like to "tougher"
3.3Ar: floral, peppery, malt Ap: golden, clear, minimal head T: med sweetness, low bitterness P: easy to drink, refreshing
3.0Bottle. Hazy amber color, thin fine white head. Sweet, floral, cracker-malty aroma. Medium dry, low bitter, light sour taste. Slightly roast, or peat, malty aftertaste, lingering floral. Medium to low carbonation, full body.
Nice and refreshing.
3.2Bottle, 500 ml at the Crown Liquor Saloon, Belfast. Clear orange golden, small white head. Malty, herbal, some fruit, honey, bit spicy. Sweetish. Medium bodied.
3.0Nice drink. Not amazing though.
3.5Bottle. Pours clear amber. Aroma is heather, some spruce, berries and fruit, quince. Body is medium, softly sweet, lively but lowish carbonation, rsome peat, low barrel, ginger spice, feels a bit like an older hoppy pale ale. Good!

3.6Blond doré, limpide. Mousse moyenne, carbonation faible. Nez légèrement fleuri. Bouche légèrement amère, au goût profond de bruyère, gingembre perceptible. Belle longueur en bouche, pas mal de corps, mais dominante amère, avec un goût très typé.
2.9Scottish style ale, infused with heather flowers. Floral and peaty. Interesting herbalness.
2.9I had heard about this ale,and saw it at the local specialty store. Was pleasantly suprised didnt like the smell but had a nice fresh flavor, never had a beer with that kinda flowery-like taste, best way I could describe it.
3.6Clean gold. Thin head with low retention. Aroma intensity 3.75/5. Cut grass and herbs aroma, with notes of acacia and spices. Light bitter. Pleasant finish. Light body
3.0Bottle. Pours golden yellow with a one finger and half very compact and creamy white head.
Light sweet aroma with clear floral notes.
Taste is rather sweet and malty, some honey and nuts hidden in the finish and just a bit of bitterness in the aftertaste.
Very soft carbonation, thin and a little watery body.
Easy.
4.20.5 l bottle from K-Citymarket Ruoholahti, Helsinki. Golden, clear and nice head. Aroma is spicy and herbal. There are actually also some hops, but I couldn't taste them at all. Ginger gives some spiciness while bogmyrtle and heather dominate with special fruity/herbal taste. Quite special and fine ale.
3.5From bottle on board Fridtjofen 01.06.18. Clear dark Golden. Diminishing white head. Not much lacing. Floral aroma and taste of heather, meadows, ginger, pale malt and a hint of citrus. Light mouthfeel. Refreshing.
3.7Bottle. This sweet and floral ale is an interesting departure from your typical herbal ale. Well balanced and great for summer drinking.
2.0Nu mi-a placut, arata ca un ceai palid, in aroma doar putin malt caramelizat. Gustul cu ceva herbal, dar nimic deosebit.

3.7Bottle from Bitter Virtue. Very pale pale ale with an interesting taste, presumably the heather
4.1I was very pleasantly surprised by this 4-pack--though it's my second time through (I also bought it at Christmas time last year, but never thought to review the darn thing), and I still had withering vestiges of a cold negatively impacting my tasting senses. Still it was very refreshing, and even though I'm half-English, half-Irish, it made me almost want to listen to Simple Minds' albums, watch 'I Know Where I'm Going!', buy another of the 4-packs, and be an honorary Scot for the day lol
2.5Легкое, не газированное пиво. Имбиря практически нет. Очень похоже на миллер.
2.7Another disappointment from this 4-pack special, I guess I'm not a big fan of traditional ale. The presence of heather is barely noticeable.
2.3Bottle bought at event close to Coventry. Mine had a bit different ingridiens then those listed at beer description. Nice light amber colour, medium foam that last short but leaves vey thin layer for longer time. Great flower and sour fruits aroma. Rather light to medium body. Nice mixture or sweet, sour taste with malt accents with herbal and fryity finish. Decent ale. Second bottle, to 04/2019, lot of oxidation, honey taste, DMS, really bad.
2.6275ml bottle form beer calendar, pours pale gold with small white head which quickly thins out but leaving lacing through the glass. Despite the ingredients (featuring heather and ginger) the aroma is actually rather standard in that is smells slightly grassy and floral with a bit of biscuit malt. Taste wise it is ok, mildly bitter and sweet and a touch sour. Watery mouth feel with just enough carbonation. Nothing outstanding but far from unpleasant
