The secret is in the 2.5 pounds of spice per barrel for this fall brew. We add the pumpkin during the mash at precisely the right time to create just the perfect balance of malt, hops, pumpkin and spice.

3.6Bomber - pours slightly hazy orange with ivory head and decent lacing. Nose is pumpkin spice and maybe ginger. Flavor adds bread and a complex spice finish with a light boozy kick. White pepper aftertaste. Spiciness makes it hard to detect exact taste, but there is obvious sweetness. Grassy hops show up as the beer warms. Fairly tasty though dominated by the pumpkin spice.
3.4Got this bomber in October and is sort of hid in my fridge until now. Poured into snifter glass a clear orange-amber color with off-white head. Aroma of light pumpkin spices (nutmeg, etc) and caramel malt. Taste is malt sweetness, pumpkin spices (mainly nutmeg), some hop bitterness and the lightest touch of actual pumpkin. Medium body, some warming in the finish. Honestly if this was served blind I would think this is a spiced ale. Still good just not expected.
3.522oz bottle in a snifter. Pours ruby/copper with a lacy, beige head. Aroma of pumpkin, spices, caramel, and a little bit of hops. Flavor the same, with a nice blend and a little bit of alcohol on the finish. Smooth texture. A decent pumpkin beer.
4.1A good example of a pumpkin ale. Great spicy smell and the alcohol warmth is pleasant. Screw Flanders.
3.7May 4, 2012 - with blankboy, garthicus, gregclow, jercraigs & mabel. Bomber c/o blankboy. Bright slightly hazy orange with a small rocky off-white head (4-). Aroma of pumpkin spices and real meaty pumpkin malt, some alcohol. Taste has less of the real pumpkin character, quite OTT with the spice, and the alcohol is fairly assertive too. Average body, astringent and nicely carbonated, dry and a bit warming in the finish - boy does the spice ever take over with this one - a very dry and spicy aftertaste.
3.6Some spice and vanilla aromas mixed into caramel malt. Copper with lots of orangish hue and almost no head. Sweet with notes of pumpkin and spice, like a very weak pumpkin pie. Full bodied and a touch oily with a sweet warm finish.
2.9Poured from a bomber into a tulip glass. Pours a pale, translucent orange with a white head of foam. Not much retention. The aroma is kind of dull with some spices coming through, but not enough to awaken it from it’s blandness. Taste has some spiciness, but it’s really just not doing much for me.
3.5On draft at lost dog cafe in McLean Va. Mild spice aroma. Sweet malts, pumpkin and spices. Sharp somewhat metallic bitter finish.
2.9Pours a nice orange with adequate head. Some nutmeg and spice on the nose. Taste is bitter, roasted, almost burnt tasting and a little pumpkin and spice. Tastes like a brown ale with some spices, less evocative of the season than most fall seasonals and not as pumpkin sweet as some people like their pumpkin beers.
1.6Pours orange with medium head. All I can smell here is nutmeg. Flavor follows with unbearable nutmeg that takes my breath away. This was a drain pour.
3.8A nice orange amber body with a white head that had great retention and some lace. Aroma had a good caramel malt base upfront. Notes from pumpkin and spices followed with nutmeg really sticking out the most a slight sweetness and some alcohol. Flavor had a little more sweetness the I expected. It wasn’t overly sweet in any way. A nice spice note with the nutmeg being dominate pumpkin was a nice bitter sweet accompaniment to the spice.
3.4Meh. Nothing special. Basic ale with a light touch of pumpkin. Not impressed.
3.5Draft to tulip. Looks good; a transparent burnt-orange with off-white head. Smells solid; pumpkin and appropriate spices. Tastes like it smells with an average mouthfeel. Solid.
3.5Tap. Amber with one finger head. Sweet with lots of pumpkin and spice. Slight alcohol warmth.
3.3Tap at Barcade: Pours a copper amber with a off white head. Sweet aroma. Lots of vanilla and clove notes. Medium carbonation with a firm spiciness in the flavor. Some clove, nutmeg and vanilla. Relatively quick finish. Not bad, one dimensional.
2.1Bottle. Bleh. Pours a slightly darker amber color with a moderate head. Too spicy and "pumpkiny" for my tastes. I like these a bit more muted.
3.4Pours orange with an off white head. Heavy notes of nutmeg and allspice accompanied by alcohol.
3.7Really liked this one, my as malty as most pumpkin brews. The aroma isn't too impressive but the pumpkin flavor is present from start to finish. A little lighter in color and taste which works well. Nice and balanced
4.3Taste like cinnamon nutmeg clove allspice brown suga - liquid pumpkin pie...
If you see it, buy it you wont be disappointed !
4.0Poured a clear copper with a two finger white head. Aroma is pumpkin, nutmeg, cinnamon, and clove. Taste is a slightly boozey version of the smell (not a bad thing) with a bittersweet finish. Feels medium bodied with a creamy texture. I dig it.
3.5Tap. Pours clear amber/copper with thin, fizzy white head; short retention and minimal lacing. Aroma is pumpkin, caramel and cookie malts, vanilla, nutmeg, floral hops, and light spice. Flavor matches the nose with sweet malts forward, pumpkin, vanilla, nutmeg, and light hops towards the end; dry finish. Medium body and low carbonation.
3.4Dear phone I’m a sucker for pumpkin beers and this 1 is pretty good. I am using voice dictation for this review anything for you working okay. Computer did not respond very strong pumpkin taste. I like this beer a lot and will drink it again in the future over and out
3.0Draft at bottle revolution. Pours orange with a thin white head. Big pumpkin on the nose. Lots of spices on the tongue. Too many for my taste. I could use more pumpkin. But it is flavorful.
3.122oz bomber bottle. Pour is a hazy dark orange with a thin off-white head. Aroma is full of spice with small notes of pumpkin and light alcohol. Up front, the palette is splashed with spices and mild hop bitterness. The pumpkin comes in about halfway with a booziness that kind of washes the good flavor away. No lacing at all. Overall, it’s a solid offering, but would like even more if the alcohol was dialed down to create better balance in the mouth feel.
3.8Bottle. Pours a murky orange color with a light off-white head. Radiating smell of pumpkin. Hops balance out the sweet pumpkin flavor. A little heavy on the spices. Alcohol definitely warms the throat. Has a slight bitter finish with all the kick of the fall spices.
3.4[4415-20120504] 1pt6floz bottle. Thanksgiving spices and fruity pumpkin pie aroma. Slightly hazy, orange body with a medium-lasting creamy off-white head and lots of tiny floaties. Boozy pie crust flavour has a ton of pungent spices and pumpkin rind. Medium body has quite a kick. Really interesting big and bold. (7/4/6/3/14) 3.4

3.5My bottle [660ml] shared with HogTownHarry, garthicus, GregClow, jerc & mabel. Pours a hazy orange-amber with a small semi-lasting frothy off-white head. A good amount of sediment in there. Aroma of pumpkin, spices and light alcohol. Slightly sweet flavour of pumpkin, spices and a bitter finish. Medium bodied. Not overly complex but very good nonetheless.
3.52012-05-04. Bright orange body, small beige head. 3+ sweetish aroma, light alcohol, muted pumpkin. Flavour is quite pumpkiny, sweet, light alcohol on the tongue is warming in the throat. Not super complex but enjoyable. Smooth average plus to medium bodied palate. Enjoyable. Bottle shared by Blankboy.
"I don’t like OTHER people’s asparagus pee, let’s be clear."
3.7Thanks to Blankboy. Appearance: vibrant orange, medium white head. Aroma: citrus, mild pumpkin, a little hoppy, a little alcohol. Flavour: spicy, sour, black pepper, decent amount of pumpkin, light in body, long spicy finish.
3.522 ounce bottle pours a murky orange color with aromas of caramel, allspice, some pumpkin, cinnamon, and some brown sugar. Flavor is sweet up front with some allspice and some pumpkin thrown in. Surprised at this one, and a nice beer overall that I would drink again.
