Heavy Seas TropiCannon (Citrus)

Heavy Seas TropiCannon (Citrus)

Our brand new citrus IPA is exploding with bright citrus aroma and flavor. Creating an exciting new variation on our flagship Loose Cannon, TropiCannon clocks in at the same 7.25%ABV as its cousin, but packs a full blast of blood orange, grapefruit, mango and lemon flavor. We’ve downplayed some of Loose Cannon’s piney-ness and amped up the citrus by swapping Centennial and Palisade hops for Amarillo and even more Simcoe. We’ve introduced dried grapefruit, orange and lemon peel in the brewing process and added mango, blood orange and more grapefruit post-fermentation.

2.9 Copenhagen 18/10 2021. 35,5 cl can from Meny, Borups Allé, Frb. F. Orange can with a lot of Citrus fruit on the can. Some look more like blood orange than citrus. Pours slightly unclear golden amber with a mid-sized white head. Settles as thin, patchy layer of foam struggling to cover the surface of the beer. Crawling up the sides of the glass. Substantial lacing. Aroma is intense with a candy-like sweetness mingling with citric fruitiness. Sweet wine gums, white sugar, oranges and a bit of harsh grapefruit. Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, slightly greasy, lightly tingling texture. Flavor is fairly intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a harsh bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter and rough around the edges. Lingers for a while. Finish is bitter. True to its name it is loaded with citrus fruit but it also have an unpleasant artificial vibe.
2.4 Can 35,5 cl. Pours an orangey golden with a small, off-white head. Massive orange and tangerine aroma - lovely and intense, but is it also natural? Fairly light body, again loads of orange citrus notes. But then commes a mind-numbing astringency rushing in - like chewing only the white parts of a grapefruit peel. Extremely bitter and unpleasant. 181021
2.0 A cannonball of "Tutti Frutti". I would bet it's artificial though. It's like opening a bag of "Gott & Blandat". Similar taste. Where is the lemon? The taste is mostly oranges, with some grape fruit. Bitter aftertaste.
2.6 Klar, snyggt gyllene orange med vitt skum. Doft: Citrus & tropisk läsk/godis. Smak: Som doft + citrus vitaminbrus. Mer alkoläsk än öl.
1.7 12 oz can at home, from the can. Heavy citrus, grapefruit, clementine and mandarin that kind of wrecks all other flavors and the beer turns out kind of one dimensional. Nah.
3.4 @ Gammelgårdsvägen 19/9-21. Can from Systembolaget. Fruity and hoppy with citrus, clementine, grapefruit and blood orange. Body is medium, dry finish with citrus.
1.9 Flaska systembolaget. Disig gul vätska. Doft och smak av citrus, mango, tall och örter. Klibbig beska
2.5 Can from the LCBO. Hazy orange pour, with a medium white head. Blast of what seems to be artificial tropical fruit notes, with a whack of candied citrus peel, and a very pithy, overpowering bitterness. Boozy, warming, alcohol dipped fruit, zest citrus rind.....this is all over the place, and not very good at all.
2.6 How: Can. Where: Systembolaget. Appearance: Hazy dark golden colour with a white head. Aroma: Oranges, hops, malt, citrus, grapefruit. Body: Medium body and carbonation. Flavour: Oranges, hops, malt, grapes, citrus, grapefruit.
3.0 @ Havregatan 20210911. Can (355 ml) from Systembolaget. Hoppy, fruity and citrusy with grapefruit and blood orange, medium body with an oily texture. The finish is bitter.
2.6 Can from Systembolaget. Orange with a white head. Sweetish with grapefruit, blood orange and tangerine. Artificial and a bit odd.
2.0 --Canned, from Systembolaget. -- Clear deep golden, huge head. Huge aroma of Grape Tonic and mango. Sweetish with medium body and clean mouthfeel. Grape Tonic and blood orange. Artificial and sharp. Mid bitter finish.
3.5 Yellow orange colour, with a large creamy head. Aroma: citrus, orange, tangerine, mandarine, fruity liquor, sugar, grenadine. Taste: bitters, orange peel, orange, mandarine, hops, aperol. Wierd but good.
3.8 0,355 l can from Systembolaget Linköping. Good IPA with citrus flavor, although not something special.
3.7 Can from systembolaget. Fruity and hoppy with citrus and tropical fruits. Similar taste. Refreshing.
3.7 Amber color, medium sized beige head. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerines, papaya and sponge cake. Taste of grapefruit, mango, tangerines, papaya, pine and grass.
2.6 Can from the LCBO. Lightly hazed dark gold under a large foamy off white cap. Nose is bright medicinal citrus reminiscent of the effervescent Vitamin C tablets of my youth. Tastes the same. Mouth is medium and creamy with prickly carbonation (though that may be imagined based on the flavour). Nope. 5-/4/4-/3/10
3.8 Oh my !! Tang smell with that beautiful sweet fake orange smell. Slightly unfiltered, golden-amber colour with a frothy-creamy warm light-beige head, decent stay, leaving some nice creamy lacing. The taste is more on the real side with citrus zest and juice as a base. It is more on the bitter side, cutting that sweetness with a very dry end. So yeah. It smells great - for those memories of candy orange artificial aromas, but the rest is pretty solid as a stronger citrusy IPA.
2.5 473 ml can from the LCBO. Pours a clear bright orange copper colour with smallish off-white head. Aroma is artificial tropical fruit with some citrus and grains. Flavour has medicinal orange and mango with some sweetness and grains. Lighter carbonation. Meh.
2.3 Tastes like orange soda with extra bitterness. Will not be rushing back to it.
4.4 Golden with foamy lacy head Aroma is very fruity notes of orange and mango and some herbal notes Flava is rich spicy fruity bitter notes of orange rind and orange juice Feels light to medium with nice crisp fizzy bite Finishes very dry moderately bitter
3.2 Can from Old Galt Bottle Shop. Intense fruity aroma. Citrusy pine taste, orange and grapefruit. Fine.
3.6 Solid. Orangiest beer I've ever had. Like, weirdly orange.
2.5 Can into glass. Pale orange with thin head. Smells like orange soda (Fanta for those in the know). Tastes a bit the same with some extra bitter orange peel in there. Meh. A bit too much artificial orange flavor. Not something to go back to
3.0 Pours a clear orange with. a white head which disappears quickly.......aroma of orange zest, lemon zest, orange jolly rancher.....taste is orange rind, bitter orange pith, disappears quickly.
3.5 A 12oz. bottle splashed into a tulip produced a creamy, but fast-fading, 1/2-inch, white head that left some spotty, short-lived lacing. The body was quite effervescent early but settled to a clear, orange-amber. The nose was dominated by a somewhat artificial aroma of blood orange with barely detectable traces of grapefruit, lemon and malty sweetness. The taste was similar, a medicinal jolt of orange with traces of pithy grapefruit and toffee. Some piney bitterness at the finish. I’m a bit confused by this one but it might just go really well by the pool in July!
3.2 Tropical fruits from the very first drop to the very last one. A little bit too much for my taste. Still not bad.
3.8 Heavy on Tropical Flavor
3.8 Can. It poured a dark orange color with a white head. The aroma was of tropical fruits, lemon, and hops. The taste was similar to the aroma with more tropical fruits, lemon, hops, oranges, grapefruits with medium carbonation and a nice bitter sweet aftertaste. Nice.
