Heretic Evil Cousin

Heretic Evil Cousin

Evil Cousin is Heretic’s take on a West coast imperial IPA. This beer is a bold, in-your-face hop monster. It has a light, easy drinking malt character that allows the hops to stand out. The hop character in this beer is intentionally on the dank side; big, sticky, and aggressive. This beer is for those of you who can’t get enough hops. Join us on the dank side.

3.7 Pours a mostly clear golden orange from the can with fluffy off-white foam that leaves moderate lace on the way down. Aroma of pithy and piney hop notes over a touch of booze and light caramel malts. Taste follows, old school west coast hop profile with a moderate bitterness and light booze. Decent for what it is, but nothing terribly exciting.
4.0 35,5cl blikje via Het Bierhuis, Breda Alcoholpercentage van 8% Uitgeschonken in Hert Bier glas Uiterlijk: goudkleurig met goede witte schuimkraag Aroma en smaak: aroma is pine, bloemig, fruitig, smaak is fruitig, perzik, mango, flink bitter, beetje karamel Conclusie: lekkere DIPA
3.4 Canned on 29/5/2019 may have lost something but it's still a solid and tasty classic IIPA. Pours hazy amber, frothy head with lovely messy lacing. Pine and citrus to the nose, bitter to the palate, quite evident booze, some yeasty funk, and aggressive hoppiness fruity and bitter a the same time. The after taste recall tropical fruits. Medium bodied, softly carbonated and pleasant to drink. Decent drink.
3.8 A: Cloudy light straw with a small white head N: Grapefruit orange zest T: Orange pith, orange marmalade, lime zest, long lingering bitterness P: Thin O: Brilliant!
3.7 Full and punchy, there is a lot of hops that come through, but it's not overly bitter. Not heavy, but full.
3.5 Trübes gelb, trockenfrüchte hopfig im Geruch, Geschmack ist leicht süsslich trockenfrüchte hopfig herb, ganz Ordnung
3.5 12oz Dose. Sanft trüb gelb. Cremiger Schaum. Heu und Hopfenduft. Antrunk frischer Hopfen, Melisse, Aprikose. Süffig.
3.4 Can 355ml (Beer Republic, canned 10/30/18) Pale amber colour, small steady white head and lace. Piney, resiny, hop oily aroma. Medium-bodied. Quite light body for this ABV, easy to drink. Pine, pine needles, resin and some alcohol in the flavour. Simplish but decent old school bitter IPA.
3.7 12 fl oz can. Poured into a tulip glass, it appears a hazy orange gold, topped with a finger of white froth which does not retain well. As the sediment settles, it gets clearer, but still a little cloudy. Aroma starts off with fruity hoppy notes with fruit rind. As it warns, the pine and resin notes come to the fore, and dankness as it gets to room temperatures later. Taste starts off sweet and fruity, followed by piney and resinous bitter. To be honest, somewhat one dimensional. Mouthfeel is full, medium bodies.
3.3 Barwa złota, piana mała. Aromat cytrusowo żywiczny. W smaku owoce tropikalne, cytrusy, ciężka żywiczna goryczka. Spoko pifko.
3.7 From backlog. 0,3 litre Can from Vinmonopolet Hamar. Cloudy Golden with white head. Malts, hops, grapefruit, and some bitterness.
3.6 Tap (Targowa, Wrocław) Przyjemny cytrusowy aromat. W smaku czuć tropiki i wyraźną goryczkę. Bardzo dobre piwo
3.8 Tap (Targowa, Wrocław). Zmetnione, złociste z niewielką, bialo-szarą pianą. Aromat delikatny z nutami cytrusów i żywicy.
3.9 Great aroma and strong taste and features. Easy to enjoy but be careful with the strength of this guy.
3.7 The aroma was kinda sulphurous at first... almost like cabbage / garbage. But, with dankness. The taste, though, was much better. Pretty malty backbone, but with classic IPA bitterness and WC flavor.
3.8 duft: citrus lime krydret malt dank smag appelsin frugtig frisk krydret svag bitterhed
4.1 Rated on 5-25-2018. Canned 02/15/2018. The appearance is a medium sized white fizzy, frothy head that is mostly lasting, transparent yellow gold body, lively, fast rising carbonation, and one ring of lacing. The aroma is lots pine hops, citrus hops, fruity, hoppy, grapefruit, floral, and malt. The flavor presents medium bitterness, lots of pine hops, citrus hops, hoppy, grapefruit, malt, caramel, and lightly sweet. The mouthfeel is moderate-lively carbonation and crispy. This beer is medium bodied. This beer is very drinkable with a light-medium bitter aftertaste. It is not overly hoppy or bitter tasting. It is refreshing on a warm sunny May day and went well with my supper. It is worth trying and it is a beer that I would drink again.
3.4 Rami Rami is drinking an Evil Cousin by Heretic Brewing Company at Kufle i Kapsle Taka wodniste, cytrusowe, sosna,z goryczka krotka, wytrawne, schowane alko... taki wzorzec niby, ale tez niczym sie nie wyroznia. Do chlania
3.3 Przejrzyste; bardzo krótkie, intensywny słodowy smak znika po kilku sekundach z jezyka2, zostaje pustka jak po wyżutej gumie. Rozczarowujące.
3.9 Can from Beer Republic. Pours unclear golden color with a thick white head. Grapefruit and pine, resiny hops in aroma. Inviting. Grapefruit, resiny hops in flavor. Good nice biting bitterness in finish. Excellent.
3.8 Tap at BeerTemple, 17th May 18. Pours clear orange. Aroma is citrus and pine. Taste is very dry, bitter, grapefruit, very dry stuff, but refreshing.
3.6 Aromat: baza słodowa, owoce tropikalne, nieco żywic. Mogło być lepiej, bardziej chmielowo, świeżo i intensywnie. Wygląd: bardzo czyste, jasnozłote, przejrzyste, biała, drobnopęcherzykowa warstwa piany, dosyć wysoka i utrzymująca się chwilę. Smak: bardzo przyjemnie wytrawne, lekka i delikatna baza słodowa, taka jaką lubię, podbita delikatnymi owocami tropikalnymi i cytrusami oraz sporą porcją żywic. Dobrze pijalne i zbalansowane. Odczucie:średnie i delikatne ciało, średnie wysycenie, zero alkoholu wyczuwalnego, finisz łagodny, gorzki. Całość: aromat nie bardzo, do tego przydało by się więcej świeżości i agresji, ale poza tym piwo smaczne, wytrawne co bardzo cenię w tym stylu, punkcik plus za to, pijalne, niezła goryczka, dobre. 6/4/7/4/15
4.3 Pours a cloudy golden color with some of the thickest head I've seen! Leaves an absurd amount of lacing. This has definitely peaked my interest. Aroma is of hops, citrus, pineapple, some grapefruit, and pine. This pretty much runs the entire spectrum of the hop scent. Has a heavier, carbonated palate. Flavor is of hops, citrus, pine, earthiness, grapefruit, bread, and crab apple. Leaves a hoppy citrus finish. Fantastic!
3.9 Copenhagen 7/3 2018. 65 cl bottle from Den Gamle Købmand. A very Evil and Devilish Cousin grinning at me from the label. Pours slightly hazy pale yellow with small white head. Settles as 0,5 cm thick dense layer of foam. Substantial lacing. Aroma is strong and acidic. Sharp citric Grape Fruit with something fermented and slightly decayed underneath. Caramel and exotic fruit providing light sweetness. Medium carbonation and medium thick texture. Flavor is medium sweet but soon overcome by a crate of Grape fruit bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter and boozy. Finish is dry. I wish I had a Cousin like that in my Family.
4.6 Smak av tropiska frukter. Apelsin, passionsfrukt.
3.7 On tap at GABF, pours a hazy yellow gold with medium white head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is floral, grapefruit, resin. Slick body, grapefruit, dank, lingering bitterness, very good.
3.7 Can. Small fizzy white head that mostly disappeared. Cloudy golden color. Aroma of citrus, fruit, gain. Over the palate came light bitter citrus fruit, light sweet malt. Medium body. Sweet and bitter flavor. Lingering bittersweet citrus flavor.
4.1 A nice piney DIPA. Instead of being called Evil Cousin it should be called Evil One Night Stand because it's going down easy and will likely make me regret how I feel in the morning.
3.4 Intense tropical fruits, unripe mango, passion fruit, pine, bitter citrus fruits. Clear gold, massive, creamy, white head. Light bitter. More bitter citrus fruits, bitter orange peel, overripe tropical fruits, mango, soft carbonation, medium bodied. Not quite balanced. Keg at GABF17, Denver.
