Hill Farmstead Clara

Hill Farmstead Clara

Clara (1906-1969) was our grandfather’s sister; Hill Farmstead Brewery rests upon the land that was once home to her and her 13 siblings. In her honor, this Grisette is crafted from American malted barley, Vermont Organic Wheat, European and American hops, our distinctive farmhouse yeast and water from our well. Unfiltered and naturally carbonated, this is the ale that I dream to have shared with Clara.
4% ALC/VOL 9º P Ingredients: Pale Malt, Organic Vermont Wheat, American and European Hops, Ale Yeast, and our Well Water.

3.9 Light amber, not much head. In the aroma, this has a touch of brett, with a fresh pale malt note. On the palate, there’s a light pale malt character, some berryish fruit notes, moderate bitterness. Has a bright, fresh taste. Interesting beer – deceptively simple, yet all the elements are top-notch and go together well. Pretty good.
3.9 Oxford tasting Hazy blond color. Nice aroma, some funk, light manure, delicate malt. The mouthfeel is not too dry, and not weak; citrus zest, bit of candied fruit, light funk. Very good.
3.7 750ml bottle at Alex's. Bottled on 2017-05-18. Pours a slightly pale hazy with a white head. Aroma is funky with some citric notes. Similar taste. Refreshing and easy to drink. Good one.
3.6 750ml bottle pours out straw color topped with a white head. Nose is lemon zest spice grass and funk. Taste is more of the nice farmhouse notes spice floral citrus.

4.0 Thanks Kirk for sharing the bottle! Poured into a wineglass showing well filtered golden yellow with white foam lacing. The nose shows strong farmhouse dry grass and catspee with light bitter notes. The palate is light bodied and moderately carbonated. Lightly tart with clean Belgian yeast forwardness with a mid-palate of light stone fruit - peach and apricot. Finish shows a light bitterness. Refreshing and well made.

3.8 *1/6/2013 750ml bottle poured into a dogfish snifter A~ hazy golden amber, with a thick white creamy head S~ like any old saison, yeasty and peppery. T~ heres where this really opens up, unlike the smell the first thing you get is tart, citrus goodness. then comes the wheat and of course pepper. M~ mmm! creamy and tart. very sessionable O~ well... HF does it again, this is my second HF following Arthur. i said Arthur was one of my favorite saison of all time. now i’m a little torn, this is just as good if not better. i can’t wait to try more of their brews. i have a feeling they’re gonna shape up to be one of my favorite breweries!
4.1 From the 750 ml. bottle dated 05-15-17. Like so many other HF brews, this one pours an unfiltered slightly cloudy pale yellow with a big foamy head that diminishes some. While I get some wheat malt aromas in the nose I mostly get a a unique, citrus zing and some mellowed wild yeast. The body feels medium to full. The taste is quite nice with a good white bread sweetness, a juicy zestiness, grass, hay, and a mild to moderate finish.
4.2 At home with a bottle kindly shared by Maakun, thanks! Hazy golden with white head. Grassy and fruity notes up front. Elderflower, cow parsley, lime, lemon, white grapes, grapefruit, apricot, berries, flower hearts. Moderate sweet and bitter, tart fruity department. Medium body, dry and full of nectar, very juicy, and dense, nice solid stuff. Living stereo picnic porn beer.
4.0 Bottle shared. Hazy yellow golden with fizzy white head. Lemon, light fruit blossoms, pineapple, light funk, soft bread, hay, soft bitter herbs, a bit of cheese. Quite fruity with light funk, not very malty but there’s some bread and a hint of oats. Light sour and bitter with very light sweetness. Under medium bodied with soft carbonation. Really my kind of beer. Lovely.
Generalnie lekkie, przyjemne, orzeźwiające w słonecznie i ciepłe dni.
3.5 Lots of lemon and some farm type hay aroma. Hazy orange pour with good head and lacing. Sour finish like your wife dumped you and stole your beer stash. Tap at Sovereign.
3.4 On tap @Ma che siete venuti a fà (Rome). Bevuta a Birre Sotto l’Albero 2016. Oro acida, appena torbida, schiuma bianca leggera. Al naso è molto rustica, bretta, note agrumate, limone, formaggio. In bocca è un po’ spigolosa e leggera di corpo, mediamente acida. Carbonazione fine. Delude un po’ le attese.
3.9 Tap at Ma Che Siete Venuti a Fà in Rome-Italy with Mortlach. quite cloudy orange pour with a white foamy head. Nose: sweet notes of grapefruit, lime, soft herbal notes. Mouth: more grapefruit, bitter/tart soft taste, clean finish.
