Everett (1908-1939) was our grandfather’s brother; Hill Farmstead Brewery rests upon the land that was once home to him and his 13 siblings. In his honor, this Porter is crafted from American malted barley, English and German roasted malts, American hops, our ale yeast, and water from our well. It is unfiltered and naturally carbonated. Decadent in its depth, with a complex backbone of chocolate, coffee, and malty sweetness, this is the ale that I dream to have shared with Everett.
7.5% ALC/VOL 21º P Ingredients: Pale, Caramel, and Chocolate Malt, Roasted Barley, Columbus hops; Ale Yeast, and our Well Water.

4.0Draft at the brewery. Aroma is typical dark malts, coffee, dark chocolate, some herbs. Sweet malty taste, smooth, quite intense, some sweetness in the ned.
4.0Now, this is one outstanding porter. It's probably one of the best I've ever had. It's got just the right level of sweetness and a nice walnut flavor that is outstanding.
3.9Enjoyed on tap at the brewery on my first visit, Easter weekend 2018 trip. Very dark brew with a yellow beige head, good stay and lacing. Dark fruits aromas with molasses and hints coffee, nuttiness, apples. Roasted malts with a nice light bitterness, lingering coffee notes on the tongue. Quite a nice robust American porter.
4.0Pours black with a beige head, aroma of chocolate, wood, toffee, flavor is bitter with chocolate, coffee, medium to full bodied
4.0On tap @ Hill Farmstead. Pour is black with a medium tan head. Notes of coffee, smoked grain, dark malt, semi-sweet chocolate, wood, and dark bread.
5.0From 750ml growler purchased at brewery. Pours black with nice, thick brown head. Good retention and lacing. Aroma of roasted chocholate and coffee. Full body with bit of sweetness at the end. Great porter.
4.1Pours a dark, cola-brown-black, with thick, creamy, beige head. Aroma has some coffee, smoke, roasted grain. Flavor has hints of coffee, chocolate, vanilla, cocoa, roasted grain. Slight touch of sweetness. Very good.
4.5Tap at Blind Tiger, 20th November 17. Pours black, with a perfect head. Aroma is heady, musk, roasted malts, dark chocolate, coffee beans, wood. Taste is massive, roasted malt, wood, coffee, milk chocolate, grainy dark chocolate, smoke. Fantastic.
5.0750ml bottle shared by luttonm @Johnny’s Off License. Thank you Matt! Nera, densa, impenetrabile, schiuma scura color cappuccino, molto persistente. Semplicemente accademica. L'Everest della birra.
3.7Growler into a wineglass showing pitch black center and a finger of latte colored foam.
The nose shows roasted coffee bean and notes of steel tank.
The palate is medium bodied and well carbonated. Roasted coffee bean with notes of steel tank. Moderate coffee bitterness on the finish.
3.7*4/5/2013
500ml bottled poured into a Hill Farmstead oversized wine glass.
A~ black! with hardly any head.
S~ sooo much roasty coffee! a little sweetness, kind of like a milk stout followed by dark chocolate and some figs.
T~ Cocoa, roasty malts, and dark figs up front. followed by a crazy sweetness on the finish with a dark coffee aftertaste. wow! way more coffee on the nose though.
M~ oh so smooth! slightly carbonated, has more of a stout feel then a porter.
O~ absolutely delicious! most flavor i’ve ever experienced in a porter. this is the newest batch, i would love to try a bottle of last years!
4.3Perfect black pour w/ a retaining mocha head & excellent lacing. Aroma is exquisite but not really detectable & rather unusual. Taste is chocolate candy like with a coffee bitterness in the finish. Mouthfeel is smooth & overall is a top notch beer! Must try!
4.1Draught @ Cooper’s Craft & Kitchen - Chelsea. Opaque dark brown with foamy beige head, coffee beans aroma, medium carbonation, slightly sweet mocha-roasted malt taste with alcohol undertones, smooth and thickish body, long bitter mocha finish. Very very good, as expected.
4.5Draft at Armsby Abbey. Pours black with an inch of khaki foam. Leaves a shitload of lacing in the glass. Massive roasted chocolate malt notes on the nose. Lots of chocolate on the tongue. Very thick and luxiourius with a bit of hoppiness on the finish. Just a gorgeous gorgeous beer.
3.9Black pour, small brown head. Amazing aroma of coffee, roast, dark chocolate, and cocoa. Taste follows, very roasty.
4.0Pours a dark black color with a nice mocha head. Nose of vanilla, chocolate malts, roasted coffee, woodyness, dark fruits, caramel malts. Taste is incredibly smooth, so creamy and thick. You get a lingering toastiness from the roasted malts. Full body. Finish is a bit dry. Extremely well made.
4.24 oz pour on draft at ChurchKey during the Hill Farmstead tap takeover on 4/1/2017. Not an April Fool’s Joke. Black with tan head. Aromas of roasty notes, caramel, dark chocolate. Tastes of caramel, dark chocolate, roasty notes, coffee. Medium body with a dry finish.
3.8Lots of roast. And some coffee. Light caramel. Creamy consistency. Black pour with good head and lacing. Bitter finish. Better than shirly Mae like Shirly Temple. Nice. Tap at Churchkey.
3.7Shared at gregwilsonstl house. It poured a black color with a dark brown head. The aroma was of dark roast, bitter chocolate, caramel, malts, light smokiness and dark fruits. The taste was similar to the aroma with more dark chocolate, roast, caramel, tobacco, licorice, light smokiness, wood and dark sweet fruits. Tasty.
4.3This could be the best porter I’ve ever had. The look is spot on, dark with a huge mocha head. The smell was outstanding, tons of chocolate, coffee, and hints of tobacco. The flavor follows suit as you get a bitter dark chocolate mixed with coffee and nice spicy finish. The feel is on the creamier side with a good amount of carbonation.
4.1Hunted by Sergey; bottled 4.6.16
Black color, medium brownish head. Aroma of roasted malt and dark bread, light wet cardboard, pungent. One of the smoothest beers, relatively dry; roasted malt, dark chocolate, cardboard, touch of liquorice.
Excellent.
4.1Tasting at Alex’s. 500ml, bottled on 06-Apr-2016 (thx, Alex M.!). Pours an almost black with a beige head. Aroma is roasted malt, dark fruits, aome chocolate notes. Taste is huge roasted malt, black chocolate notes, very dry and even some boozy notes. Very good.
3.9Aromat to tytoń, paloność, dym, lekki fenol. Smak lekko gorzki i słodki, kakao, tytoń. Solidna rzecz.
4.0Wyrazista, mega ciekawa paloność, sporo tytoniu, długa, kawowa goryczka, wyraźny aromat dymu. Bardzo klasyczne i bardzo smaczne. Mógłbym pić codziennie.

4.224 oct 2016, bottle. Black. Nose is outstanding! Meaty, some char. Med body and mildly fizzy. Meaty, earthy, tobacco, sweet and tobacco. Wow!
3.9Pours pitch black with a fluffy, bubbly, mocha colored head.
Smells of melted chocolate, toasted walnuts, rock sugar and unsweetened marzipan. The nose comes very well together, balanced by a mellow earth note, including a whiff of dough and flowers, adding to the prominent chocolate.
Has an utmost soft mouthfeel, creamy with a medium, malt relying body, featuring a lively carbonation burst, tickling the tongue during the finish.
Tastes of milk chocolate, bitter cocoa nibs, which add to the complexity of the silk chocolate, and toasted hazelnuts. Turns a tad dryer during the mid palate with even more cocoa nibs, a whiff of licorice and lots of soothing cream. Finishes with rock sugar, fudge and bitter chocolate, clean and soft.
Very well built Porter, pleasantly complex without loosing its focus at any point. Intense during the mid palate, while finishing surprisingly soft and calm.
3.7At Hopishop 2016. Aroma of coffee, roasted malt and some choco. Taste has coffee, caramel, licorice and malt. Not bad, but very middle of the road.
4.2At Hopishop. The best porter in the world according to this site - for what it’s worth. Lightly lacing, tan, moussy head quickly dissipating in the middle; very dark mahogany brown colour, blackish but still fully translucent. Aroma of beef stock cube and even gravy, walnut, home made caramel, dry liquorish candy, dried porcini, bitter chocolate, vague glue-like solvent effect but nothing disturbing. Sweet onset, hints of candied figs and dates, sourish undercurrent, beef stock-like umami accent from the nose returning immediately after the sweetness, softish carbo perfectly fit for the style, smooth oily mouthfeel, caramelly malt core with bitter chocolatey and mildly toasted ending, pleasant spicy hop notes blending in very well, lingering with the toasted malt bitterness, a tad grapefruity in the end, with a mild suggestion of warming alcohol. Very accomplished, rounded, easily drinkable porter, perhaps a bit too much tilted to the umami side for this style but I can see how this quality level in combination with limited production and even more limited distribution can create a hype.
4.5Pours dark with thick chocolate colored head. Incredible beer. Roasted malt, chocolate. Very smooth mouthfeel. Thanks to Frank for trading this to me. I absolutely will seek out more.
