4.0Draft at Blackback. Hazy gold, frothy head. Whoa. Super juicy citrus nose, goddamn. Smells like itll be a bit sweet and herbal. Taste: actually lighter sweetness, surprisingly restrained bitterness, finishes with taste that reminds me of stone ground mustard (5000 knows what Im talking about). Medium body, average carbonation, oily texture. Overall: lovely + mustard.
4.0Draft to pint at Prohibition Pig. Looks good; a cloudy pineapplish apricot with foamy eggshell head. Smells good; pineapple and grapefruit up front with a mildly to moderately bittersweet backbone. Tastes like it smells with a pleasantly bitter medium-bodied mouthfeel. Delicious.
4.7On tap at Blind Tiger. Super juicy tropical fruit aroma. Great balance, though definitely on the bitter side. Peach, pine, tropical fruits. Resin finish. Awesome.
4.4Tap. Now this beer is lethal - Full bodied, big hops in buttering and aroma, dry and tight. This drinks with all the flavour of a 8 to 9% DIPA. Wonderfully balanced as most HF beers are.
3.8Draft @ Fools Gold (NYC). Cloudy yellow golden color. Dense white head with good lacing. Aroma’s: lovely citrus, light malts. Retronasal it’s citrussy sourish hops (3x). Flavor is rather bitter, though not too harsh. Medium bodied. Rather high, but very fine carbonation. Long dryish finish, earthy and herbal bitter. Nice!
4.24 oz pour on draft at ChurchKey during the Hill Farmstead tap takeover on 4/1/2017. Not an April Fool’s Joke. Hazy yellow with off-white head. Aromas of citrus, floral notes, tropical fruit. Tastes of pine, citrus, floral notes, tropical fruit. Medium body with a dry finish.
4.1Also very good but was a little less complex compared to Susan. Nice orange notes with some pine. Earth bitter finish and foamy mouthfeel.
3.7Some pine and lots of bittering hops. Hazy golden with decent head and lacing. Bitter finish. Good balance. Lots of fresh hops like a new style of skateboarding. Tap at Churchkey.
4.0On tap at brewery. Pours cloudy pale golden-yellow with a medium white head. Aroma is pine, grapefruit, floral hops, peach, and melon. Taste is similar with mellow pine resin, grapefruit, melon, very light pineapple, and just a hint of caramel. Fairly strong bitterness. Medium body. Lively, almost aggressive carbonation. Slightly oily mouthfeel.
4.2Growler from the source poured to tulip, and shared. Certainly more aggressive, to the point that my tasting glass exploded (thanks to a good whack from the empty growler heading to the sink). Cloudy lemon orange. Big juice hop nose. Lemon fresh well balanced palate. Hints of wheat in the grains. Clean, great balance. Yum!
3.8Pours a hazy golden color with a beautiful thick white head. Nose is very earthy, green resinous, come citrus in the background. Body is medium on the palate. Not too sweet. Medium to high agressive harsh bitterness. Definitely well balanced but not the best of their IPA’s.
3.9The Well, Brooklyn tap: pours hazy golden with a nice white head. Aroma is pine, pineapple, light citrus, and fleurs. Taste is fairly bitter. Super piney and super fruity. Nice body. Very pleasant.
3.6Backlog, ocena przepisana z untappd, w ramach uzupełniania profilu na ratebeer. HFD #6 Bardzo fajny aromat, mocno przegięta goryczka.
3.3Pretty hazy golden with a minimal white head. Very green in the aromas with garlic notes. Light bodied, fairly bitter, mire greeness and oniins. A bit harsh...
3.8Draught at The Jeffrey, 1/1/17.
Thoroughly hazy, light-amber golden body topped by a small but firm white head.
Grapefruit, peach, nectarine and light honey work well together in the nose. There’s a touch of caramel, even, and light pine and pineapple. More bitterness and aggressivity than Edward, indeed.
In the mouth, it’s pleasingly juicy up front, but dries out considerably, with crusty bread and wheat-like textures soaking up the malt sweetness and light pineapple-lychee. It turns a bit more bitter than I’d like, with grapefruit and lemon lingering heavily on the finish. Tight carbonation, no flaw or alcohol.
4.0Light and soft carbonation opens up a wonderfully fruity, pine aroma. White pillowy head dissipates quickly. Beautiful beer.
3.6Draft. Cloudy light golden/deep yellow body. Big, thick, frothy white head, lasting. Aroma of citrus, passion fruit, orange, lemon, toasted grain, floral hops. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and moderately bitter. Medium body, watery/velvety texture, lively carbonation. Taste of citrus, lemon. Finish has hints of resin that detracts from the fruit flavors. Wish the bitterness was dialed back, too.
4.1On tap at The Bench, Stowe, VT.
They poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a ruddy burnt yellow to hazy orange color. Bar pour’s kind of slim white foamy head dissipates evenly.
The aroma has some light citrus, soft melon, some pineapple, and a light grassy sweet to bitter hoppiness.
The flavor blends wonderfully between the melon, the pineapple, honeydew softly skating on into the aftertaste and on into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat between a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionability about it. Carbonation felt good and let the hops do the talking as the appropriate bitterness impounding my tongue.
Overall, extraordinary IPA that I would love to have again.
3.7On tap at City Swiggers, Manhattan, New York, USA. A hazy golden/yellow coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Hoppy, citrus, pine aroma. Tastes pretty much the same, hoppy, citrus, pine, some orange & tropical fruit with a bitter finish.
3.7Draught @ Milk and Hops - Chelsea. Hazy bright yellow with medium off-white creamy head, faint citrus peel aroma, medium carbonation, medium bitter citrus peel taste with little mango, smooth body, long citrus finish. Very smooth and tasty.
4.1Tap at One Mile House wasn’t planning on stopping in but walking right by so figured must try and this wonderful beer on tap. Hazy orange yellow small head. Nos rid light citrus and melon very pleasant. Tastes of honey dew, grass, lemon, pine, grapefruit, resin. Easy on palate. Fucking delicious.
4.3Fresh growler. Thanks to Tommy for this! Cloudy yellow pour with light white head. Aroma is dank cananbis, mangos, and peach. Taste is tropical fruit, some dankness and light fruit. Juicy bitter finish. Extremely crushable.
4.1750 ml growler purchase at the brewery on September 28, 2016. Hazy honey gold, small head. Aroma of hoppy field berries and tropical fruit, quite sweet. Dry fruity herbal taste, fresh hoppy sensation, nice green bitterness. A sweet and agressif IPA!
4.2Growler shared by jc1762. Thanks Jon! Poured a very lightly hazed yellow color with a small white head. Aroma was grassy notes, grapefruit. Orange and orange zest. Very juicy hop character, light bitterness compared to the dank aroma. Tasty.
3.8Tap at brewery showing well filtered yellow with a lot of sparse white foam.
The nose is grassy - fresh cut grass. Upon warming up, a light zest grapefruit with malt backbone appears.
The palate shows light bodied and moderately carbonated. A lot of cannabis flavor finishing with a moderate bitterness. Not bad.
4.0(On tap @ Warpigs HF Day, Copenhagen, May 12 2016) Pours hazy deep gold with a good-sized cap of white froth that lasts well and leaves lace. Aroma is hoppy but driven towards the ’green’ end: pine, grass, slight green onion, grapefruit, light sweet orange and peach, fairly light malts with a hint of bread. Flavour has a similar balance, fairly high bitterness from pine, grass, florals, citrus pith, some sweet orange/peach notes beneath, fairly light malt, moderate to high bitterness builds in a dry, semi-crisp finish. Medium bodied, fairly high smooth filling carb. Nice IPA, on the bitter and ’austere’ side compared to modern fruit bombs but drinks well.
4.0With Josh, Pablo, Marissa, Zach and Audrie at The Pony Bar, NYC, pours a cloudy golden yellow color with a white head. Nose is deep tropical fruit . Taste is bittersweet tropical fruit , pine and resin. Finishes on the same bittersweet notes ! Quaff Score 8 / 10
3.5Draft at Pony UED w James. Light copper-gold, broad smooth white head and ton of lacing. Fresh earthy nose which is brighter and more tropical when stirred up. Somewhat creamy mouthfeel and lots of lively earthy tasting hops. Not a bomb but smooth and tasty.
4.2Sample @ Hill Farmstead Tap Takeover, Warpigs. Cloudy yellow body with a medium white head. Light malty, bread, pine, tropical fruits, oranges. Bitter aftertaste. Yummy.
