3.3Decent bitterness and roast coffee. Toffee and caramel flavor a. Finish is a little metallic. Everything is nice up until that part.
3.1Brought back by some WI friends. Dark brown pour with mocha head - looks a bit thin. Smell is smooth roast coffee, caramel, some minerality. Taste is some metal, oldish coffee, nutty, caramel, roast. Ok, but to be fair no bottle date and there was noticeable dust on the bottle.
4.116 oz Bottle poured a dark black with a tin tan head. The roasted coffee and chocolate aroma is evident in the sweet cream taste. Expected a heavier body but found this to be medium and a little thin. As it warmed the flavors become more pronounced, so it is definitely one to savor. Overall, very enjoyable.
3.5This impresses me more like an Imperial Stout. The pints were a pleasant surprise. This does make its way on to my repeat list.
3.6Tasted from a bottle. Pours black with a small amount of tan head that fades quickly. Aroma is heavily coffee. Taste is also big time coffee with some dark chocolate. Faint hint of caramel sweetness. Not to drying on the mouth. Pretty solid coffee stout.
4.0Pours a very dark brown with tan head. Coffee, tons of it on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with some roasted malt, raw cocoa and more coffee. Solid coffee stout.
3.716.9 oz bottle pours black with a tan head. Aroma of coffee, roasted malts and chocolate. Taste is malts and coffee.
2.6On tap at Charcoal Grill Manitowoc. Let this one warm up a but before you drink it or it will taste like a mix of coffee grounds and cigarette butts.
4.1If you like coffee stouts there’s nothing to dislike about this. Strong coffee flavor and aroma. Very creamy head.
3.7Poured from a bottle. Dark brown color, large off white head. Nice roasted coffee aroma. Medium body with a light creamy pepper malt with a mild finish.
3.5Heavy black coffee flavor and really bitter. Smells like a cu of black coffee and is brought of rink. Had at fountainhead.
4.1On draft, poured into pub pint. Black, with creamy tan head. Smells and tastes just like coffee. Nice creamy mouthfeel. Pretty tasty, really nice beer.
3.5(Backlog) Bottle of fantasy tasting at Paul’s. Dark pour with tan head. Roasted coffee, chocolate aromas. Coffee bean, roasted and like chocolate flavors.
3.5DO KEEP YOUR HEAD OVER THE BOTTLE WHILE OPENING! Pours a ton of tan foam on opaque, nearly black liquid. Once the beer settles, a one-finger head is retained for much longer than average. Chocolate, coffee and roasted notes on the nose. Way over carbonated. Taste approximates the nose, although a little more smoky in the flavor.
3.5Pint. Pour dark black thin off-white head. Roasty chocolate coffee malt aroma. Taste is mix of light sweet and bitter. Medium-heavy body, creamy texture, medium bitter finish. Pretty good stout, was in the mood for something sweeter.
3.8On nitro-tap. Pours a dark brown color with a creamy light brown head. The aroma is rich with coffee. The taste is smooth and easy drinking. Robust flavors but not too heavy. Nice find on nitro.
4.0Bottle poured into a shaker. Pours black with a half finger of tan head. Aroma of coffee, dark chocolate and a little caramel. Taste is light bitter and follows aroma. Mostly coffee and dark chocolate. Medium bodied with a thin and watery texture. Soft carbonation and a decently long finish. Good beer, but the mouthfeel is off.
3.7[Tap] Pours an opaque black color with a small light brown head. Nose is of coffee, chocolate and ash. Taste follows the aroma pretty closely. The coffee here is evident, but not as strong as you may expect from a coffee stout. More of an earthy ash, wood and licorice flavor profile come out as it warms. Creamy palate. Definitely one of the better beers I had in the sampler from the brewpub.
4.2Not much on the nose but it’s a beauty to behold. Pours a deep black with a very rich and creamy thick tan head. Flavor has the slightest hint of black licorice quickly followed by strong dark chocolate and coffee flavors. Great mouth feel and a nice dry, slightly chalky finish. Delicious.
3.4Pours a rich, creamy looking black with a large creamy deep-tan head. Very good lacing, very good legs. Thick wisps on the surface and medium collar. Aroma and taste are of very deep malt, burnt coffee, and dark chocolate. Full body and low carbonation lend to a great thick, rich mouthfeel.
3.7Draft at the Sybarite Pig in Boca Raton, FL. Snifter pour was dark, thick, and a thick white head. Aroma was coffee, dark chocolate, vanilla, heavy malts, and roasted nuts. The taste was similar with the coffee most powerful. Medium to heavy in body, finish was coffee and dark chocolate. Not bad at all.
2.750cl bottle pours a watery black with some very frothy, beige head. Nose has a lot of bright coffee bean, molasses, bread. Flavor is heavy with green bell pepper, malt, caramel, coffee bean. Astringent finish.
3.4Poured a black color with aromas of malt, light roast, some coffee and earth. Flavors follow suit with some light coffee grounds. Decent beer overall.
3.0Pint bottle - enough head to fill two pint glasses, geez. Nose is foam. Smell is coffee and metal. Taste is coffee and metal. Suspicious bottle. No date on it. Will need to try again from a different source. Bitter like dark chocolate.
3.2The aroma is very toasted and coffee like with chocolate and molasses. The appearance is dark brown with a foamy head. The taste is like the aroma. The palate is smooth from carbonation. Overall pretty good.
4.1Picked up this beer due to the promise of a Coffee taste. Popped the cap off and got a very nice smell of hops and coffee. Poured into glass and got a nice tan head. First taste was a pleasent surprise and I finished the glass rather quickly. Would recommend this one to any stout lover.
2.8Crushed a bottle with Jakebra. Nice coffee aroma with slight notes of oxidation. Flavor is some coffee, roast, and ash tray. Flavor gets a bit offensive at the end there. Still drinkable.
3.1Nice coffee stout. Aroma is ok, but appearance was excellent. The head was crazy and very active. Decent taste and an average coffee stout.
3.3Sweet roast aroma - a little milky, maybe some cocoa. OK pint bottle, OK label. The head was entirely too tall on this one - a pour into a snifter ended up yielding about 90% khaki, webby head and only 10% inky brew. Dry, tangy. Reminded me strongly of the unsweet caramel/burnt sugar that’s on Cracker Jack. It is, in fact, over-carbonated. Medium heavy body. Finishes out with toasted soy, light sweetness, mellow roast. Whole Foods, Tallahassee.
3.3Dark color and thick foamy head. Coffee flavor shines through with a delicious bitter aftertaste.
