Hirter Privat Pils
Brewed according to ancient Bohemian recipes and left to mature with a prolonged aging process, the Hirter Privat Pils has a different taste than a typical North German pils.
The soft mountain spring water used for brewing this GMO-free, non-pasteurized and purely natural specialty beer comes from the Hanslbauer spring in the water protection area directly opposite the brewery, underlining the beer’s pure, aromatic hop note and typical taste.
The Hirter Privat Pils is highly fermented, resulting in a naturally slender taste that beer connoisseurs often refer to as “semi-dry”. Slender on the palate, the beer has a harmonious, bittersweet finish. However, the delicately bitter note is never overpowering, but reveals its typically soft character as an integral flavor element. Another characteristic is the mild carbonic acid structure, which ensures optimum flavor. 12.3°

Bottle 50cl as Cimbra in Italy. Clear golden pour with white head; fine retention. Aroma is soft; bit malty/toasty and slightly fruity. Taste is delicate bitter, with a very late dry-bitter aftertaste. OK body and carbo. Actually quite nice.
0.5l cepovane ochutnane v chorvatské Rijece v pubu Nemo. Na daný styl dost dobre. Ne tolik jako zwickl z tohoto pivovaru ale pivo z hirteru se davat bat nebudu. Asi nejlepší z rakouských velkých značek co jsem zatím ochutnal.
500ml bottle, online from Trembling Madness. Pours clear golden with a white head. Aroma: pale bread, grains, biscuits, grass, hay. Light to moderate sweet & light bitter, biscuits, pale grains, hay. Light to medium body with soft carbonation. Steady overall.
0,33l Flasche. 750 Jahre alte Brauerei, aber amerikanischer twist off Deckel. Funky! Klares gelbes Bier mit luftigem Schaum. Sehr grasige Nase. Wenig Kohlensäure. Bitter-süsser Geschmack. Getreide, Geas, Hopfen. Recht blumiges Finish. Ok.
Hellgülden und klar im Glas. Eine Vielzahl kleiner CO2-Bläschen steigen sehr schnell in die Höhe. Die feinporige weiße Schaumkrone gibt sich stabil und gut haltbar.
Grasig grüner Duft mit leicht süßlich fruchtigem Anklang.
Frischer grasiger, leicht floraler Antrunk.
Angenehm malziger und überraschend breiter vollmundiger Körper, welcher eine ausgesprochene Süffigkeit zur Folge hat. Der Hopfencharakter, den man erwarten würde, bleibt praktisch zur Gänze aus.
Angenehm rezenter und brotiger Abgang. Auch hier vermisst man anfangs die pilstypische Hopfenherbe, welche sich erst nach Minuten einstellt.
Wenn man ein typisch deutsches Pils erwartet, wird man womöglich enttäuscht sein. Man muss aber festhalten, dass es ein überaus ausgewogenes, vollmundiges, süffiges und gutes Bier ist.
Bottle at home in Hackney - sourced from All Good Beer. Pours crystal clear yellow with a weak, white foam head. Nice basic lager, some pale bread, biscuits, light grass and hay. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Modest sweetness to finish, further crispy biscuits, pale grains, hay. Drinks just fine.
Poured golden body with thin lace. Aroma of grassy hops. Taste is medium sweet with semi-pro finish. Palate is medium bodied oily texture average carbonation and a bitter finish. Brewed by birracimbra under license in Italy. Organic but unremarkable.
Clear golden color creamy white head. Hoppy grainy aroma and flavor. Nice clear smooth medium bitter palate, light to medium body.
Draught, clear gold color, ;ots of honey , some maltiness, light herbal bitterness, but not enough, quite sweet. Drinkable but much to sweet and not good.
Clear gold with a moderate white frothy head. Aroma: grains, a hint of vegetables. Light to medium body. Lively carbonation. Taste: grainy malt, a sourish touch that is often present with lezaks. Light grassy bitterness. The hops are obviously not outstanding. Still, long hoppy ending. Little flaws. Passable in general.

Klarowne, złote, obfita piana ładnie zostaje na szkle, drobne, ale nierówne pecherzyki. Goryczka bardzo delikatna, przy drugim/trzecim łyku wyczuwalna.
Appearance: gloden, clear, watery, weak to medium carbonation, one finger white head.
Aroma: malt, bread, yeast, cereals, corn, grass. It is a superior aroma for a Pils.
Taste: bitter-sweet, balanced, some hops at the beginning. Malt, baked bread, yeast, a bit of grapefruit. Very refreshing.
Aftertaste: more bitter, malt, yeast. Quite long-lasting.
Bottle from Systembolaget. Fruity smell with pale bread and an earthy touch. Similar taste. A bit sweet but got some bitterness to balance it out.

0.5 bottle brought to me from Austria. Clear golden colour with thick white head, aroma is malty and grassy , taste is malt , medium sweetness, really bitter , thin bodied.
Bottle. Golden beer with a strong white head. The aroma is yeasty with a gentle maltiness, and the flavour has a fairly strong bitterness and dryness with yeastiness and a nice long finish. Overall a nice pilsner.
500 ml bottle. Clear golden colour, medium head with average durability, partly lacing, soft carbonation. Nose is grassy hoppy, hay, cereals. Flavour is medium sweet and light bitter, malty, cereal. Short and still light bitter finish. Pleasant mouthfeel, high drinkability. An Austrian classic and above the average.
Ein sehr gutes österreichische Pils. Sehr harmonisch mit einer sehr angenehmen Hopfennote. Sehr drinkable.

Direkt-Vergleichsverkostung zwsichen Stiegl Pils zu Hirter Privat Pils. Der Auftritt beider Biere ist schon mal beeindruckend. Während das Stiegl mit dem Saphirhopfen (der auch beim Zwettler Pils Verwendung findet) glänzt, gibt man beim Hirter mit 2 DLP-Auszeichnungen an.
Mir persönlich hat das Stiegl besser gefallen, wobei ich dem Hirter zugute halten muss, dass es ein halbes Bio-Bier ist.
Das Hirter Pils ist naturtrüb, was für ein Pils recht ungewöhnlich ist und kommt dadurch nicht so rau herüber wie viele norddeutsche Pils.
Es lässt sich zwar sehr angenehm trinken, aber mein Favorit ist es nicht.

50cl bb05/2019 as hauled cisalpina by Vera&Felix, grazie! - Interesting cisalpina slowbrewing collab between host AT-Kärtner Brauerei Hirt and Catintia Beerfirm Cimbra/Tzimbar that yields a clean, enjoyable pilsner with some character. Clear golden pour, good stable white head. Fresh nose of crisp cornflakes, dried grass, sweetish mountain water? Mid-bodied for a pils yet clean & crisp, if not overflowing with flavour: fresh white bread dough, nettle metallics, sweet herbs/mint. No off flavours, no sulphur. Still beats birra Forst from the region...

Pours clear golden with a thin, white head. Aroma of grain, white bread, banana, honey, citrus, something 'off' but not sure what. It tastes light malty sweet, bready, hint of banana & honey, and light grainy bitter. Dryish, grainy finish, bit bready & yeasty. Light body, watery texture, fizzy carbonation. Okay Pilsner.
Flaska od kamarata. Vona chmelova. Farba zlatista bledsia. Chut chmelova trochu vodova.
Draught. Pours clear straw yellow with medium head. Aroma is sweet malt, grainy. Flavour is metallic, sweet malt, grassy. OK.
Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass zippy, small head. Starts mild, more and mote hoppy, some metallical notes. Mild bitterness. Okay.
Clear golden color with small white head. Light grain aroma with light bitter taste.
