3.2 Bottle 500 ml. Pours golden coloured with an small white head. Aroma is fruity, floral, caramelly and citrusy. Flavour is fruity with rice as well as some sweetness.
3.5 . 55l bottle shared @Explosive with Hanniku. Pours murky amber yellowish with medium head. Leaves hint of lacing. Aroma is honey, malts, bread (barley), spices, dried fruit, floral, alcohol notes. Flavor is dark malts, bready, honey, sorachi hoppy, syrup notes, dried fruits, floraly, only sligthly alcoholy. Medium bodied, nicely balanced beer.
3.4 Pours deep golden with medium sized, white head. Aroma of hay , caramel malt and some pine . Balanced taste with strong, malty backbone and Sorachi Ace on front.
3.9 Bottle from Alko, Helsinki. Pours hazy amber with a medium-sized white head. The aroma features citrusy and tropical fruitiness, berries and pronounced spiciness; seems high on hops and yeast. Taste is light to medium sweet and light bitter; hoppy flavours are strong with chacteristically Sorach Ace-like elements like berries prominent with floral hoppiness and a touch spiciness. Rich set of flavours, also some crispness adding bite. Strong fruitiness includes tropical fruits such as mango and peach. The palate is medium to full bodied and smooth in texture. Nice surprise: original but still very balanced.
3.5 Bottle @Ølfestival 2017. Pours clear dark golden with a small, creamy white film head. Aroma has dusty malts, wheat, hay, light vinious. Medium carbonation, fine dry and quite creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has sweet malts, doughy, very fat, some grainy notes, fairly vinious. Doesn’t get too sweet. Interesting, but probably a bit one-sided.
4.5 On tap @satellite, Lausanne. Smells Sorachi Ace, coconut and caramel. The perfect smell. It has a light amber color with nearly no foam. Tastes Sorachi Ace, caramel, hop and malt. Bitter finish that does not last very long. Creamy, medium to heavy body, low carbonation. Just an insane brew.
2.9 Bottle 0,5. Pours hazy orange with small white head. Aroma is mainly dill and lemongrass, with some dust and banana. Taste follows the nose, however the lemongrass is more dominating than dill. Medium body and average carbonation.
2.6 Bottle thanks to Bob. Hazy copper with a medium sized white head. Sorachi notes of lemongrass and dill in the nose, some dust, sweet banana. The flavour is also dominated by lemongrass and dill, some starch, sugar, banana, chardonnay. Medium to full body, oily texture, medium sweet and bitter with some alcohol. Somewhat astringent and rough finish with alcohol. Odd and not too pleasant.
2.3 From Saveur Biere. In Teku glass. Playing Technobabylon. Odd tasting brew, with lots of what may be described as strange flowers in it. Saturates. May be because of excess of sorachi ace? Zesty too
3.4 550ml bottle. Pours a hazy orange-gold with lots of floaties and a large, frothy, long lasting, off-white head that leaves curtains of lace. Sweet aroma of pale malt, caramel, floral, apricot, orange, yeast and pine. Sweet, fruity flavour of orange, tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, melon, apricot, biscuit malt, yeast and pine with a dry, bitter, hoppy finish. Medium body with a thick, smooth, oily texture and soft carbonation. Interesting and original.
2.5 Rami Rami is drinking a Hitachino Nest Ancient Nipponia by Kiuchi BreweryDuzo przypraw (gozdziki, pieprz, galka?), nieco chlebowosci, chmielu nie czuje, w ustach slodkawe, przyprawowo-ziolowe posmaki.dziwne Rami Rami: Dziwne te przyprawy a po wiekszym ogrzaniu meczace. 3.9 0,55l bottle shared by a friend. Pours clear golden with some flotsam and a medium head. Aroma is grainy malts with some fruity notes. Flavor is fruity and grainy malts with a hoppy finish. Good stuff.
4.0 0.55 bottle. A hazy, gold color with a granulated, yeasty suspension, and a small, white head. Aroma of pale malts, light fruits, spices, flowers, nectar, and some herbs. It offers an uncanny combination of Belgian aromas with herbs, flowers, and nectar notes too boot - terrific. Taste is sweet, more fruity, flowers and herbs still play a big role with the latter contributing some bitterness. A medium body, an oily texture, and a soft carbonation. Finish is rather long and very floral. Overall the beer is great, but most importantly, I can say in all honesty that I have not yet tasted anything of this sort before. Points for originality.
3.1 66cl bottle (shared) at The Globe, Hong Kong on 27-Sep-2016. Reddish amber in colour with a small off-white head. Sweet aroma of malt, dark fruit, spices and malt. Full body and medium/soft carbonation. Taste heavy in malt and stewed fruit. Lightly hopped. Character of a Belgian ale. OK, but a bit heavy going.
3.7 Hazy amber. Spicy and bright nose. There’s a thin yeast smell. The palate is cinnamon and a little numbing like sichuan pepper. It’s really quite lovely. Earlier Rating: 10/7/2016 Total Score: 3.7 Hazy amber. Spicy and bright nose. There’s a thin yeast smell. The palate is cinnamon and a little numbing like sichuan pepper. It’s really quite lovely.
3.3 Bottle. Golden amber, good white foam. Strange aroma: herb, dill, spices, slightly woody and malty, sweet nectar. Taste: malty, sweet, fruit, grass and wood.
3.8 I’m a beginner, so I don’t have a detailed comment, but I like this beer a lot.
3.6 Leicht trübes orangegold mit kleiner Schaumkrone. Malzig, süßlich, Kekse, etwas Karamell, Honig, leicht fruchtig.
3.5 Bottle, #h-J16, 24/06/16, thanks bluus. Pours slightly hazy with a small, but stylish, classy and long-lasting, white head. Aroma is some hoppiness, yeast, apricot, banana. Taste is semi-dry, banana, apricot, yeast. Fairly full. A mixture of a dry Belgian and a German wheat.
2.9 Cloudy med amber. Thin head. Phenols, paint on the nose. Quite sweet and a fairly pronounced alcohol character. Ok if you like strong quasi-Belgiany things.
3.8 Amber and medium-bodied. Rich malty aroma and flavour, with dried fruit and spicy phenols. Full sweet taste with light bitterness. The closest association would be sweet strong ales or even quadrupels. Overall, this is a great beer. It is very belgian and not as unique as their other beers.
2.9 Bottle. Creamy white good mostly lasting head. Yellow colour. moderate malty and hoppy aroma. light bitter strange herbal flavor. Average light bitter finish. Oily palate. Messy.
3.9 Bottle in the hotel. Pours golden orange, nose is herbal, burnt, salty, lemon, grassy, taste is bitter, lemon, toffee, bubblegum, chewy, sweet.
3.6 Keskijuotava. Näistä ei kyllä hajun puolesta voi hyvää sanoa. Maku on mukava ja suutuntuma varsinkin. Voi näihin tottua.
2.5 On tap at unos in sampler. Clear golden with a thin head. This is a reasonable brew. .maybe I’m missing the context.
3.8 A dark yellow with an orange notes, a head is medium and blond. Aroma is unique and interesting, strong notes of Sorachi’s herbs, fruitness, fruit candies, marzipan and mandarin. Taste has fruitness, mandarin, herbs with notes of Sorachi Ace, some bitterness is balancing the medium sweetness. Medium+ bodied, low carbonation. Interesting beer with a great aroma. Fruitful with herbs.
3.0 Orange and honey are the immediate elements on the tongue and the nose, medium think in the mouth. Alcohol is present!
3.6 Indeed special beer. Lot of earthiness and if asked I would say the most Japanese beer so far. Sorachi ace is amazing
3.1 55 cl, bottle conditioned. Golden orange, thin off-white head, nice level of carbonation, loads of floating sediments. Sweet and fruity aroma. Mouthfeel is crammed with sweet notes and carbonation. Flavours are mostly caramel and toffee up front, but also floral and hoppy. All in all it’s a bit too sweet and sugary, and I don’t think I will buy it again.
