3.7 330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 6.0%. Orange to amber colour, only slightly hazy. Moderate head, slightly off-white. Aroma of oranges (some of them decaying) / orange peel / orange marmalade, some grainy and piney notes too. The flavour is better, fruity with oranges again, but not too sweet. Moderate bitterness. Soft mouthfeel. Pleasant to drink.
3.3 Bottle. Dark clear orange color. Mandarin orange aroma. The body is relatively light. Citrus, mandarin orange taste and bitterness. Dry finish. Refreshing beer.
3.0 Bottle 330ml. Pours unclear orange with a medium tall off-white head. Carbonation is medium and the body is medium to light with a smooth light creamy mouth feel. Tatse is medium bitter with light but notable sweetness and some tannins. Flavors of hops, citrusy hops, orange candy, bitter orange pith, light malt, grapefruit, tannins, lemon zest. It's ok, but it could have been bolder in all fronts. A tad off balance towards the bitter-tanic side with the sweetness coming too late to balance it.
3.7 Bottle, amber beer, small head. Aroma is malt, citrus, hops, lemon. Taste is the same, bitter, lemon, long dry bitter aftertaste. Nice
3.3 Bottiglia.
3.6 BB 01.2021. From a stubby poured a slightly hazy amber with 5mm of off-white open foam that retained very well and laced well. carbonation moderate, lively and medium to coarse. Aroma moderate to strong of moderately sweet orange zest and fruit with the zest dominate. Taste with lots of sweet orange fruit (marmalade-like); nice delicate profile with orange and malt balanced; moderate bitterness for an IPA. Light to medium body. Smooth, crisp, clean, refreshing and dry with a lingering finish.
3.2 330ml bottle. Pours a clear orange-gold with a medium, foamy, long lasting, off-white head that leaves curtains of lace. Sweet aroma of caramel malt, honey, orange peel and floral hops. Sweet flavour of caramel malt, tangerine, orange peel, honey, black tea, earthy yeast and spicy hops in a dry finish. Medium body with an oily texture and soft carbonation. A little weird, but not bad.
3.6 Bottle, at Både Vått & Tørt. An almost clear dark golden colored beer with a finger-thick off-white head. Some lacing occur. Sweetish piney, grapefruity aroma with bready, caramel-ish malts. It's full to medium bodied, semi-dry and with a decent carbonation. A light bitterness and a touch of sweetness in the flavor. Pine cones, grapefruit, some tropical fruityness and bread and some caramel. Medium length finish. A quite pleasant old scool-ish IPA. Don't know how the special orange should taste, if different from regular oranges, but I can't really say I detected and orange flavors. 190810
3.4 Bottle at Amsterdam pub, pouring slightly hazy amber pour with off-white head; rather poor retention. Aroma is hoppy, resinous. Nice mild-bitter taste. OK IPA.
3.8 Citrusy. Strong Mandarin orange peels. Fruity. Malty backbone. Medium bodied. Short bitter finish. Pretty light for an IPA but still pretty enjoyable.
2.0 Bière passable. Elle ne présente aucun intérêt. Même le goût n'est pas là ! Une déception au plus haut point !
3.3 Hazy golden pour with a fine head Fine intensity in the aroma Ok balanced sweetness vs bitterness Malty, orange, citric and fruity flavor Nice easy drinkable beer [Bottle from a Christmas calendar]
3.8 On tap at Hitachino Nest Beer Lab. Pours a hazy orange with a thick white head. Aroma of citrus, light fruits, orange, floral hops. Flavor of citrus, orange rind, tropical fruits, floral hops, pale malt, bitter hops. Nice and citrusy, lightly hopped. 7/4/8/4/15 (3.8/5)
4.3 330ml bottle brewed in Japan at 6%. Initial clear gold, upon a full pour turning to the classic orange-tinted amber of the style. Smallish, good-duration head. Stereotypical British pub IPA aroma, dark citrus hops and some similar malty notes, but here there's a potpourri orange peel element too - kan kan mikan! Lowish carbonation, nice thick mouthfeel. Classic British pub IPA hops, a world apart from the US style of IPA - this should call Fuller's Bengal Lancer and Harviestoun's IPA to mind (or Brewdog's Punk if you must), but there's that bonus orange-peel element putting a slight, well-balanced unobtrusive twist on it all. The darkish malt of the style is similarly ticked in good order, and if this offers only a slight twist on the style it certainly does the rest by the books with typical Japanese attention to detail - your tastebuds are in good hands here. It also has a typically Japanese 'dry' finish. When the whole bottle is poured, however, some yeasty fruity notes (again, old-school British style) appear, and it thickens up a little - all to the good in my estimation. A very fine Hitachino interpretation of a very fine style of beer. In no way groundbreaking, but...perhaps, flawless? Perhaps, my new favourite Pub IPA (don't buy this expecting some US East or West Coast style affair...you'll be sorely disappointed! This is in the British style). Arigato gozaimasu.
3.1 Bottle at Konbu, Groningen. Appearance: hazy amber with medium sized white head. Aroma: candied sugar, orange, trace of hops. Taste: quite sweet with a fairly high bitterness. Notes of candied sugar and sweet malts, mainly orange peel, some citrus and some hops. Palate: medium bodied, oily texture and medium carbonation. Overall: meh, not really an IPA
3.2 Chez Milinf. Orange au nez. Orange amère au nez. Du malt et de l'orange. Encore une bonne bière de cette brasserie !
2.8 Flaska@ AI Ramen Sofia. Lätt citrusig frukdoft. Tunn maltkropp där apelsin/mandarin kan anas. Kort eftersmak.
4.0 Ordered online at LCBO, enjoyed yesterday afternoon while watching a classic ‘Meet me in St Louis’. Tasteful and aromatic, a good IPA from the rising sun country.
2.8 Gylden brun klar med eggegult skum. Lite lukt, noe tørket frukt. Lett. Middels bitter barnål, noe trevirke og brent karamell. Middels lang. Tørr
3.1 Smell- weak to medium hops, caramel herbal a bit. Foam- thin, soft, large in mouth, weak bitter-sweet notes, hops. The Head is medium-sized, creamy orange-ish white. Appearance- slightly hazy orange, brownish color, medium carbonation. Taste- sweetness, then bitter-sweetness and then hops. Citrus notes, caramel, aftertaste is hops. I don`t usually like hoppy beers but this is quite ok.
3.8 Mild IPA with a nice hint of tea.
3.4 Både Vått & Tørt i Bakgården 2019. Deep golden orange color with a white head. Aroma is fruit, malt, hop. Flavor is fruit, malt, hop, pine, citrus, oranges. OK beer.
3.2 Fles gekocht in Luxemburg gedeelt met Roelzie1986. Het is een licht troebel oranje bier met een volle witte schuimkraag. Het heeft een hoppige geur. De smaak is hoppig, bitter en harsig.
2.7 On tap at JiBiru, pours a clear golden amber with a small white head. Aroma brings out spicy, earthy hops upfront, with a hint of citrus, and biscuity malt. Flavour is unusual, with spicy earthy notes, citrus hops, and some mandarin. Spicy and earthy to go along with the fruitiness. Strange one. Not feeling it.
3.5 I think it's okay when compared with other IPA beers. But if talking about HITACHINO, this can be one that is more bitter, and interesting.
3.2 Bottle at a restaurant. Semiclear medium orange with orange tinted head. Strong citrus, grapefruit, caramel. Sweet with pine and orange pez candy. Medium body, watery palate. Passable but unexciting.
4.0 I was not expecting much from this Japanese IPA. Was I wrong, As soon I poured this ninja of a beer that beautiful golded color catches my eye and I'm like ok that looks loverly. I take whiff but I'm not doing a tasting or intending to review so I'm not really taking notes. The aroma is sweet like fruit and caramel had a liquid baby. The taste, like the aroma you get that fruity, caramel flavors but the hops hit as well with that bitter aftertaste. I love my IPA's and this up there with the best of them. Hope to get my hands on some more
3.8 Bottle 330ml. Amber colour with white foam, fine, creamy, high, resistant. Intense fruity and citric aroma, sweet notes, caramel. Intense bitterness flavor combined with malt sweetness, citrus, fruit. Very good
