3.4 As someone that enjoys sake, I was looking forward to trying this. It pours a amber color with slight hints of pink and red, but definitely looks like a traditional amber ale as opposed to an Irish red. The aroma is sweet and tangy, nothing overwhelming. Thin head. The taste on the front-end is a very subtle nod to strawberries. Slightly sweet, creamy. It doesn't hit considerably different from other starch ales. The finish is where the "sake" elements come out. Not bitter or astringent. Minimal carbonation with lends to a softness of this brew. Medium body. This is perfectly fine, if unspectacular. Easy to drink.
Cuerpo medio. Globalmente muy buen sabor y sensación refrescante.
3.2 Bottle, online from Beers of Europe. Pours deep amber towards red with a beige head. Aroma: barley, rice, sweet bead, yeast. Taste: light to moderate sweet & bitter, honey, bread crust, rye, cereals, rice, earth, caramel, light herbal. Medium body with soft carbonation.
3.4 Old rating from 2012 - 330ml bottle, pours caramel colour with a white creamy head. Aromas & tastes of oatmeal, lemon, honey, hints of spice & malt. Medium body. Crisp grainy finish.
3.2 330ml bottle from Wine Rack, Tattenham Corner. Pours hazy reddish golden with a thin white head. Aroma of malt with a hint of fruit. Sweetish taste and finish.
2.2 Warka do 04.2022
3.6 Brownish-reddish color a a small white head. Red berries with nice malts. Spicy.
3.8 33cl bottle @Kraken, Oviedo. 15-02-2021 In short: nice spicy red ale Some smokey nose, berries, malty. Overall sweet, spicy, lingering notes. Well executed. Enjoyable.
Ciekawe piwo. Dosyć słodkie, nisko nasycone, pełne.
3.4 barwa czerwona. piana skompa. aromat czerwoen owoce. smak przejrzale owoce sldowosc. goryczka niska wysynie ok
3.3 I Aged Sample /I Head gone in seconds, light red-copper beer. Old cookies, mild oxidation, ricewater, old grains/rice indeed. More of the same in the taste. Old cookies, oxidated nuts and indeed red rice - flavour is unmistakable. Thinned by the aging, but still certain viscosity. Sticky - as rice. Pity about the aging, it must have been really good fresh. I Thanks to Stef! /I
3.5 Bottle, amber beer, small head. Aroma is fruit, malt, light grain, strawberry. Taste is the same, fruity, malt, sweet, not bad.
3.4 Bottiglia.
4.8 I received one bottle of this for my birthday. Thick white head on top of a kinda hazy Amber body. It smells a sweet bread and yeast. It's a touch dry on aftertaste that has that sweetness that I'm looking for in a beer. It would sadden me if this was a hard to get beer, but it's just one more reason to go to Japan then
3.5 Pours clear amber, medium level of CO2, a small but persistent white head with some lacing. Aroma of sweet malts and sake, floral hops. Some alcohol notes. Tastes quite sweet, a lot of rice, saké, cherry petals. Not sure how the petals are generated but it's the first thing I could think of. Totally malt forward but bittering chinook hop emerges to balance. I had heard horrors about this beer but I think there is nothing wrong with it! Ripe fruits in the after taste, the finish is actually quite dry. Medium body, low carbonation on the palate and there is a good passage from sweet to dry. If you like saké you would like it, if not you may think of congee. I don't like congee and I like saké. This is OK to me.
4.7 Deep, red/pink colour. Persistent small head. Hoppy aroma, but this isn't majorly prevalent in the taste. Starts sweet and plummy. This develops into a dryness with a very nuanced aromatic, floral quality. Extremely tasty and unique.
3.2 Deep off white foamy head stayed on a rust coloured still body. Herbaceous & berry aroma. Medium bodied, smooth on the tongue with a lively back & sticky aft. Red berries, Parma violets, syrup & jam tastes with a sweet fruity finish. Deece.
Drikker veldig gjerne igjen.
4.1 Tap. Hazy red amber appearance. Chocolate, cocoa, brown sugar, red rice smell. Very creamy texture with hint of red rice, brown sugar, toasted malt taste. Almost no bitterness. Rather there is decent smooth and creamy sweetness in the aftertaste.
2.6 Bottle. Amber- red in color with a medium head. Aroma is red rice? (I don't know what red rice smells like). Taste like red rice, maybe.
Nic fajnego.
3.7 Black glutinous rice. Pulut hitam. Rice rice and rice. Some toasted malt. A little sweet strawberry finish. Interesting sake-like finish.
2.9 Bottle. Pours a pale pinkish colour, little bit of a head. Fizzy with a fair amount of sediment at the bottom. Fruity taste, maybe of strawberry.
3.3 Bottle from Whole Foods in Kensington. Reddish amber with a large off-white head. Lots of caramel, with orange and tinned strawberry. Definitely sweet. Odd texture; a little slimy and glutinous, definitely reminiscent of overcooked rice. An odd one; like the flavour but not the mouthfeel. On balance it's the right side of ok.
4.1 Red-brown, White head. Rosehip, smoky, strawberry, leather. Light, rosehip, smoky, complex.
