2.5330ml bottle from Eric the Red. Pours cloudy gold with a small white head. Aroma is herbal herbs, wheat. Taste is herbs wheat, citrus, slightly bitter. Strange weizen, maybe something is wrong with this bottle.
3.0Thanks to the VKDs. A wit like weizen, dry finish small bubbles, slightly tart, Serving: Bottle
3.2Bottle. Pours a hazy pale yellow-gold, finger of nice white foam. Really mellow spicy ester aroma, toasty malt. Minerally flavour, banana, wheat, a hint of toasted marshmallow. Very dry compared to most weizens, light peppery finish. Prickly carbonation, medium body, moderate bitterness. Lacks the fullness of flavour they usually offer, but goes down ok.
3.3Cloudy, yellow color . Big white head. Aroma of wheat malt , banana and clove . Malt, fruits and yeasts in taste. Over carbonated in my opinion .
3.3Bottle, stable fluffy bubbly head, hazy light orange color with lots of yellow hues, aroma of yeast fruit vanila and waffle, flavoror of tropical fruits waffle and yeast, mellow sweetness, medium bitterness, nicely balanced. Good.
3.3Bottle. Hazy yellow with a huge bubbly head, good retention. Aroma is fruity and estery with notes of clove and yeast. Medium fruity sweetness, flavors of banana and candy, light yeasty bitterness with spicy notes. Light bodied with strong carbonation. Decent Weizen.
3.4Bottle. Nice shiny cloudy yellow with a white head. Yeasty, very phenolic spicy aroma, with clove, some bread, and a bit of banana. Flavor is a bit sweetish, a bit tart, with yeast, wheat, some phenolic spiciness, and some nice fruitiness. Finishes with bread and a light bitterish touch. Medium-bodied, well-carbonated. Overall, a decent, enjoyable, well-made Weizen
3.1Bottle. Cloudy blond. Aroma of apricot, peach and plastic, taste of apricot and plastic bitterness. Fizzy, a little bitter almond in the finish and a full body.
3.0Bottle 330ml. Slightly hazy yellow with white head. Aroma of salted snack, wheat, spicy with some citrus. Sweetish flavor, quite spicy with notes of wheat, salted snack, citrus and black pepper, bitterish and spicy finish. Medium-bodied.
3.1After far too long, I’ve finally gotten around to some Hitachino Nest beer. This is a unique Weizen, for sure. Dark yellow pour with two fingers of foam. Honey, bread, and potent clove on the nose. Flavors of cream, subtle fruit, spice, light citrus, and candy-like malt. This one’s definitely sweet. It tastes fuller than its modest ABV. Hopefully this is my first of many from Hitachino.
3.5Ooh, I lika da cute liddow owl! Has okay head and golden colour. Aroma is mustiness like a wit, some leather, shoe polish. Flavour is a meaty brew, lots of malt and leather flavour with hints of wit on the backend. Nice and balanced between light and heavy, a good mix, expertly crafted.
3.7Milky hazy golden ochre. Thin white head but nicely covering sticky lacing. Dry aroma has wheat, lactose, fruity notes. Medium body, soft carbonation, dry with long fruity finish, chewy, bit apricose also. Tasty with nice palate & look, I liked the milky feel here.
3.1Aroma - coriander and clove and a touch of banana.
Appearance - body is cloudy straw colored with great nucleation. The head is white and about 1 1/2", and settles slowly.
Taste - tangy, with sharp spices - esp. coriander and clove. Yeast is not noticeable.
Palate - body is medium, slightly smooth texture, carbonation is lively, the finish sharp, tangy, and slightly bitter.
3.21/12/16 24.3oz bottle (Old Notes)-Pours a slightly cloudy golden with a big white head. Aroma of wheat, clove, and cinnamon. Taste of the same with a bit of bread. This light bodied brew is better than I was expecting.
3.2Aroma bananas, cloves, bread. Taste carrot juice, flour, camomille. Dry finish. Decent but mild body and too strong hop finish.
3.5Bottle thanks to Dusan & Simona. Clove, sourish, spicy. Slightly flower as well, which expands upon the traditional weizen profile. Good.
3.0WFP jesień 2015. Aromat klasyczny, wygląd przyzwoity, złoty wpadajacy w żółty, niska piana. W smaku bardzo wodniste i bez wyrazu. Nasycenie średnie. Nic rewelacyjnego.
3.2Hazy golden with a white head. Aroma is sweet, wheaty, banana and yeasty. Flavor is quite sweet. Sweet finish.
3.6cheese, bread, leather, golden, hazy, light sweetness. Very pleasant wheat smell; homemade banana bread comes to mind. Surprisingly thin given the aroma, but not disturbingly so. A bit too bitter on the back-end, but other than that, it’s remarkably comfortable.
3.1Dull blond with a light haze. Quite average for a weizen. Has a light metallic edge otherwise fairly typical and not worth the price.
2.8Cloudy yellow color with relatively fast decaying foam. Wheaty and yeasty smell. The taste is wheaty, yeasty as well as banana heavy. The aftertaste is mild and a little yeasty. A little disappointing but solid.
3.6A bright golden coloured beer with a thick white head. A distinct aroma, wheaty, bready, spicy, especially clove and cinnamon and a mild lime and lemon citrus aroma. Dry and prickly mouthfeel. A dry wheaty taste, biscuity and bready, then the spice elements comes through with cinnamon and clove. This is followed by a light zesty lemon and lime flavour that lasts into a well balanced finished.
3.412 oz draft pours a hazy yellow color with a small white head. Aromas of wheat, banana, clove. Light bodied, nice summer drinking
3.1Bottle from Sake Taniguchi (World Beer Market). Small sweetish wheaty nose, with some peach and light spice. Hazy honey straw color, thin head. Light sweet banana, small citrus, and very gentle but unusual hoping in mid and final. Thin body. Okay. Nose is nice, but flavors are just so mild. Missing the body and bite of a good hefe.
3.1Bottle from Seiyu served in my weizen glass. It pours a soft gold with a pillowy white head. The aroma is sweet spicy wheat featuring cloves blended with coriander. A raspy carbonation on a somewhat thin body means it lacks a chewy malt backbone I’d enjoy. The taste is of a decent weizen: wheat, cloves, coriander, a bit of a bitter fruity finish. Not much fruit character to it but it’s an OK beer. I’d say Hitachino’s White Ale is better though.
3.4Bottle from Yamaya, Hitachinaka, Ibaraki, Japan. A hazy golden coloured pour with a thin bubbly white head on top. Yeasty, malty, wheaty aroma. Tastes similar, yeasty, wheaty, banana, cloves and spice. Pleasant.
2.8Bottle - hazy yellow with a reasonably quickly disappearing fuzzy head. Aroma of lots of clove, yeast, hay and gooseberries. Taste of cloves, yeast, wheat, hints of grass. Thin body, medium carbonation.
3.7Poured from a 11.2 OZ bottle into a pint glass.
Aroma- I can detect wheat and rice, not bad
Appearance- A great murky golden yellow color, with a small head
Taste- A nice wheat flavor with a bitter aftertaste
Palate- Dry medium bodied
Overall- not a bad beer, not their best style of beer from Kiuchi but a pretty good beer to try.
