3.0 Bottle at home. Pours a cloudy grey-yellow colour with an off-white head. Not much aroma, the grain does come through slightly. Taste is a little sweet but has a balancing dryness. It has more flavour than some wheat beers, but the finish is short. I wouldn’t say this was refreshing exactly, but it’s not bad all the same.
3.4 Bottle from Kris Wines. Opaque amber, medium white foam head which dissipates to thin at edges. Nose is fragrant, fruity, coriander, lemon, lemon peel, a lot of wheat cereal grain, toasty grain, slight grass, lemon creamy. Taste is fragrant, floral, lemon, wheat and barley grain, coriander. It’s a decent wittier. Not a huge amount of finish on it though.
3.1 Pours a cloudy pale colour. Taste is similar to normal Hoegaarden. Don’t see how this is special
3.5 Rated from beer log from 2009 Belgian Trip.... Golden in color, slightly cloudy, thinnish white head... Citrusy flavor with pristine finish... Very nice beer
3.2 Yellow, cloudy and fizzy. Medium white head. Quite simple taste, not too bitter, some sourness and sweetness.
3.2 Bottle. Pours a cloudy yellow colour with a thin white head, mild wheat aroma, taste is sweet and fruity with a dry fruity finish.
3.4 250cc bottle. An hoegaarden with some interesting flavours in it. A bit citrusy. It is fizzy. Nice wheat beer.
3.1 Winter version of the classic Hoegaarden Witbier, with crystal malt. Hazy peach blonde colour, off-white, creamy head; aroma of honey, pineapple slices in syrup, powder sugar, caramel, nuts, bread. Sweet and smooth in the mouth with spicy notes, relatively ’genuine’ for an AB InBev beer, but too sugary, with low hop bitterness in the finish. Simple winter beer, not too convincing, but acceptable.
3.3 * Old rating, best before 04/10/10. Mild-fruchtiges Witbier.
3.3 Bottle from The Beerhive. Hazy pale golden body with a huge white head. Lively carbonation. Great lacing. Aroma of lime and straw. Flavour of pale malt, lemon and salt. Thin body with a watery texture. Fizzy. Crisp, nice.
3.7 250 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 5.7%. Hazy straw colour, large to moderate white head. Strong wheaty and yeasty aroma of citrus / orange peel, coriander and cloves, hints of bananas. The flavour is citrussy and refreshing, followed by moderate spicy notes of coriander and cloves, banana in the finish. Very moderate hops.
1.4 Citrus and yeast aroma. Very little foam. Haven’t had a regular one for a while though i can’t figure out why this one is special. Could be a refreshing drink in summer but not an interesting beer.
2.9 Bottle at Cardinal during DSJT 2014. Pale misty golden body with a white rim. Coriander, wood and Belgo yeast on the nose and on the tongue. Sweet, watery and light bodied. Finishes with spicy notes.
2.7 DWFACDSJT; Bottle. Pours hazy straw with a moderate lasting, creamy, white head. Nose is wheat, yeast and light spice with metallic notes. Taste is moderate sweet and bitter with a sweet fruit, somewhat lasting finish. Body is light to medium, texture is to oily, carbonation is soft.
3.4 250ml bottle served in a tulip glass. A: Pours a slightly cloudy yellow to orange color forming a small bubbled white head with small retention. Forms and leave only Very few lacings in the glass. S: Sweet and spicy nose. Strong notes of sweet grains, honey, wheat, cloves, cinnamon, orange zest, flowery hops, Belgian bready yeasts. T: Slightly sweet upfront taste. Strong notes of honey and sweet malts. Notes of cloves, orange zest, wheat, cinnamon, Belgian yeasts. Light hops bitterness. M: Light body and medium carbonation. Sweet malts, honey and flowery hops in the afteraste. O: Good drinkability. Smooth texture. A sweeter version of the classic Hoegaarden with stronger notes of the spices. Not bad. 3.1 25cl Bottle from Prik&Tik Pauwels. ABV 5.7%. Hazy golden colour, white head. Aroma of wheat, butter, light spicy, alcohol. Flavour is medium-sweet, buttery wheat, just light spicy, not like it’s more famous brother, alcohol, yeast, cake dough, banana, fruity finish. Light-bodied. It’s OK.
Eh bien, oui, Hoegaarden a trouvé … CONCLUSION : je reste poli aussi ... merci Inbev.
3.6 Bottled 28/06/14. Less hazy than regular Hoegaarden but richer and more grown up. Yeasty and wheaty notes and joined by good alcohol and the merest amount of spice. Tasty.
Fin rapide.
4.3 Appearance with yellowish color (darker), cloudy liqui and nice foaming. Citrus and wheat aroma. On the palate, the taste is fruity, with cilantro and very complex. I liked it very much, I highly recommend it!
3.4 Light misty blond body and stable head. Generic belgian malt profile, light and biscuity, not very full except for the small amount of residual white sugar. Lightly hopped, a bit of a belgian yeast in the end. Light bubbly, okay mouth feel. Light bready and hazy base makes for an okay beer, but the general profile stays quite forgettable. Special? Well because they can sell this 25cl bottle for a 33cl price perhaps... Drinkable and fresh? Yeah, that it is. (25cl bottle from Cave Gambrinus SPdC)
3.0 Bouteille: Golden, hazy, small and quickly collapsing loose white head, sweetish wheaty and fruity nose with a slight alcoholic touch; moderate both sweet and tart flavour, already medium bodied; slightly lingering tart-fruity, wheaty and also hoppy finish. Odd style, but far better than expected…
3.2 From YNWA botteshop, Kolding, dk. Bottled, 150214. Golden with white head. Aroma of yeast. Flavor with added sugar and wheat.
3.6 A somewhat sweeter variant of the regular Hoegaarden with a deeper and more seasoned taste.
3.2 Aroma of cereals and wheat in particular. average taste and no length neither bitterness.
3.7 25cl bottle from Vanuxeem. Was really struggling to tell the difference between this and standard Hoegaarden. Regardless it’s nice to be reacquainted with this beer once again.. a lovely distinctive wit taste that always seems to hit the spot.
