Hofbräu München Maibock

Hofbräu München Maibock

By tradition, the first barrel of Maibock is tapped in the Hofbräuhaus in the last week of April, in time for the merry month of May. The success story of Munich’s oldest bock beer goes back as far as 1614.

With its powerfully aromatic flavour and its alcoholic content of some 7.2% volume, Hofbräu Maibock marks one of the high points in the beer-lover’s calendar!

3.8 beautiful appearance of clear amber colour with huge, creamy and long lasting beige-ish ecru head; aroma of mild toasted rye bread, roasted sunflower seeds, slight orange zesty and floral notes; taste of roasted sunflower seeds, rye bread, some syrupy sweetish notes, minimal orange zest and definite alcoholic spiciness; really good one
3.4 Pours a golden color with white head. Honey-bready sweet aroma and taste; floral notes. Notes: bottle from the Shopette, Super Bowl ‘21 🇩🇪
3.0 Ar: Steely toasted malt; grass and wet dough; very clean and malty. Ap: Deep amber and clear; medium-large light tan head with good retention, settling into a solid cap of foam. T: Rich, melanoidin malt flavor; astringent black licorice; bitterness is medium; toasty and bready; finish is more of that black licorice and a fairly clean alcohol flavor. M: Medium, firm body; carbonation is high; medium-dry finish. O: Decent maibock--the astringency keeps it from being a good beer.
3.1 Adding in my 300 Beers To Try ticks because I want to see how they impact my stats and some of them I will never see again. Will however re-rate them when practical.
3.9 Clear orange beer, white foam. Fruity nose (some stone fruit and banana) with malty notes. Nice bitter hoppy finish. Well balanced. Great beer.
3.5 Pours clear ruby amber with a full, light tan head. Aroma is dried fruit and light caramel. Taste is raisin and caramel, moving to light roast. Finish is roast and raisin. A decent maibock.
3.6 Miedziane, klarowne, fajna piana z lacingiem. W aromacie słodowość, karmel, biszkopt, pieczywo. W smaku dość słodkie, pełne, a przy tym solidnie goryczkowe.
4.2 Nice German option for variety. Heavy malts. Caramel & bready taste.Decent
3.3 Flasche 0,33l: Kräftiges Bernstein, Kupfer, glasklar, kräftiger stabiler mittelporiger Schaum; fruchtige + recht würzige Nase, malzig-würzige Süße, dezente Hopfennoten, kräftig Malz, Malzzucker, Karamell, etwas Honig, Brot, Brotkruste, angenehme malzig-würzige Bitterkeit; würziger + dezent fruchtiger Körper, würzige Süße, eher trockene Hopfenaromen, Malz, Getreide, Karamell, cremig, deutliche Kohlensäure, dezente Hefearomen; angenehmer malzig-würziger Nachgang
3.7 On tap at Chinese Tower Biergarten in English Garden in Munich. Sold as Hofbrauhaus Urbock. Clear amber orange pour topped by a foamy beige head that largely dissipated by the time I returned to our table by the tower. Bready malt aroma hints at caramel. Sweet malt flavor has notes of dark honey, toffee and warming alcohol. Light spicy hop finish. Delicious.
3.9 Copper color with a tall cream color head. Malty aroma with notes of bread and light caramel. Slightly bitter. Nice.
3.9 Bottle from Seijo Ishii. Clear deep bronze pour, big creamy beige head. Aroma of honey nuts, a touch oxidised, grainy malt biscuit. Smooth rich flavour, sweet malt, a touch of dark fruit. Smooth body, a booze feel to the rich malt, deep palate sit, but glides and cleans off the palate, making it highly drinkable. Would definitely have again, rich yet clean.
3.5 Sampled on tap at Frankfort Hall earlier today, pours an orange amber with medium head. Nose and flavor are sweet malt, yeast, bread, toffee, and florals. Booze hidden well but a touch sweet even fro the style. Medium body

3.0 miedziane o ładnej pianie. Aromat biszkopty, karmele, srednio intensywny. W smaku delikatne ale pelne, Za stylem nie przepadam ale uwazam ze nic mniej ni wiecej przecietne.
3.6 Bottle. Very nice clear amber/copper with a beautiful white head. Aroma of malts and earthy, herbal hops. Taste is malts, caramel, grains and honey. Earthy, grainy, sweet and bitter. Medium carbonation. Very well.
3.1 Reminds me of an amber or lighter brown, but of higher alcohol strength. Maybe a little less malt than most Oktoberfests, but the styles are similar. Mostly caramel malt in flavor and aroma. Ok to sample a single, but there are better out there.
2.5 AR: Malz, kräuterig AP: klares kupferrotbraun TA: Malz, karamell, Hopfen, kräuterig
3.5 Slightly darker than the normal Maibock, this orange maibock leans to the winter bock. Some Caramel and some warming spices in the aftertaste makes it almost a doppelbock but then with more hops.
3.3 Strong amber lager, light body, alcoholic warmth. Semi-bitter, strong beer. Like a better version of cheap strong lagers. D&S Dresden
3.5 Bella ambra chiara, testa media. Il naso è caramello, grano, erba, erbe. Sapore semisommido, caramello, leggera amarezza a base di erbe. Liscio e ben bilanciato.
3.3 Bottle. Clear pale copper. Toast and caramel aroma. Toasty lightly sweet taste. Light bodied.

3.6 bottle @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Aroma of caramel malt. Clear rich amber brown color, beige head that drops to a thick rim, long strips of lace. Taste is caramel malt and mild hops. Very full-bodied, but not heavy. One of Hofbrau's better offerings.
3.5 500ml Bottle - Amber with a foamy head. Sultanas, caramel and dried apricot in the aroma. Bready, malty and fruity taste with peach, dried apricot, sultanas and rye bread standing out.
3.3 Fles 50cl thuis. Licht maltig, licht kruidig en zoetig. (8-2015).---------.
