A real (freezing process) Icebock, made from the Granitbock. Full bodied, strong, and keeps the flavour of the ancestor’s (Granitbock) caramel taste. 26°

3.5Rami Rami is drinking a Hofstettner Granitbock Ice by Brauerei Hofstetten at Kasprzaka
Suszone owoce, karmel, chleb. Powidla sliwkowe. Sporo ciala. Slodkie. Super ukryte alko. Dobre.
Średnia goryczka, wysycenie średnie do wysokiego. Bardzo fajne.
4.5Butelka 330ml wypite w domu. Kolor ciemnobrązowy a od dołu szkła rubinowy, ciemny, lekko zamglony, piana jasnobrązowa długo pozostaje w postaci obrączki. Aromat mocny, suszone ciemne owoce z bardzo aromatyczną suszoną śliwką. W smaku pełny, łagodny, rozgrzewający ze wspaniałym lekko chlebowym smaku. Śliwka suszona gra jednak pierwsze skrzypce, rewelacyjny ciemny eisbock.
3.8mahogany colour, medium sized beige-ish head; aroma of dried fruits, burnt plum jam, some chocolate and roasted rye bread; taste of dried fruits, roasted nuts and syrupy notes; good eisbock
3.6Fruity aroma with dried plums, honey or brown sugar and bread. Clear redish darkbrown color with a small light brown head. Moderate to heavy sweet flavor with dried fruits, malts and dark chocolate. Full body, thick texture, soft carbonation, medium bitter and roasty finish. It's a voluminous, great, dark Bockbier. 0,33l bottle.
3.5Deep ruby color, beige head, not very lasting. Ripe dark fruits and a lot of melanoidin in aroma. Smells sweet and toasted. Taste is strange - cucumber, watermelon, bread, a bit alcoholic. Fruity. Quite dry finish although the mouthfeel is sweet. Watermelon/cucumber taste is dominating. Strange, but good!
4.1The Eisbock version of Granitbock, which is a hybrid of Steinbier and Doppelbock if I understood correctly; bottle from Geers. Moussy, yellowish beige, regular head, opening in the middle but stable as a thin ring around the edge, over a hazy burgundy-hued bronze beer. Rich, malty aroma, desserty even, hinting at plums soaked in brandy, raisin bread, chocolate cake, Pumpernickel bread, fig compote, rum, Belgian chocolates, toffee, pear syrup, ginger, subtle hints of peppermint, tomato puree, toast. Sweet onset, fig and raisin, plum jam, banana bread, but not estery; light sourish touch, softish carbonation, very full and rounded mouthfeel. Thick and attractive, toffeeish and raisin bread-like malt body, remaining sweetness, warming, rich finish with a lot of rum- or port-like booze - perhaps a little bit astringent in the very end, but otherwise very appropriate for the style; late herbal hop bitterness, toasty bitter touch and mild spiciness, but the liquid dried fruit bread effect lingers as the last impression. Traditionally conceived Bavarian style Eisbock - but exceptionally well made, rivalling with e.g. Schneider's legendary interpretation of this - traditionally speaking - rare style. Fully deserves its place in the top-50 of the style on this site.
3.6Deep brown, clear, no head, more body than basic granit. Comparing to aventinus very poor. Banana, bread, caramel.
3.5Aroma of ginger bread with tons of plum, also some dark fruitiness with some caramel and toasty back. Jet black in the glass with almost none head. Taste is semi dry with heavy ashy notes of roastiness, also some earthy hints with red dried fruity profile. Finish is bit boozy, but also deep roasty. It needs more oiliness, but I think the point has been reached.

I think it's at least ten times better than the regular one. Very complex, fuller body, much more depth.
3.2330mml bottle as part of the European Local Swap 3/2017, many thanks herrklemann for this bottle. Dark amber to brown colour with a tan head. Aroma of caramel, malts, nuts and dark fruits. Taste is intense caramel and warm alcohol leading to a moderate bitter finish. Next one please!
3.3Barwa brązowa, piany nie ma.
Aromat banany, karmel, suszone czerwone owoce.
W smaku słodko. Jest karmel, melasa, jakby drożdże, susz owocowy. Alko wyczuwalne.
Spoko pifko.
3.8Beautiful chestnut-ruby beer with a small cream-coloured head, gone in seconds. Sweet, syrupy nose, concentrated cherry aroma, fruity character. Very sweet-syrupy, yet in the best possible way. Again a very fruity character, dried fruit (dates, figs,...) and dried red fruit. Obviously very syrupy MF, thick body, perfumy aftertaste. Txs to Stef! 7/4/8/4/15
2.533cl bb07/2020 catered by my latest AT EU Swap partner, merci! - A heavy dose of sticky barley syrup and caramelised cow fodder unfortunately keeps very loyal to its doppelbock base despite the boozy eisbockification that only adds a drizzle of ripe banana caramel and air-dried plum jam over the wort. Not too boozy, packs instead a mighty barley wallop with not much taste evolution as it warms: drinks literal like high-gravity wort really with a bitter touch of cough syrup and old molasses. - Capitulated for a full 33cl. Should probably have kept this capped for a bottle share. - The base Granitbock on tap went great with chili, but this was just too much of the same heavy. Might revisit under better auspices.
3.4Bottle from the local store, dark brown beer, caramel colored head. Aroma is malt, cherry lifesavers, brown sugar. Taste is malt, toffee, coffee, citrus rind bitter, anise, and booze. Palate is smooth and rich, carbonation average, lots of alcohol burn.
4.7Swietny lodowy mocny kozlak. Nie ma się co tu przyczepić. W smaku ogolnie (bo zaraz będzie bardziej szczegolowo) przypomina mi bardzo belgijskiego quadrupla (jakości (St. Bernardus). Piana srednia, średnio trwala, smak slodki, melasa, syrop z agawy, klonowy, daktyle, rodzynki, trochę dżemu z fig. Wszystko to zalane porto lub sherry. A mianowicie mus orzechow laskowych z czekolada. Nutella mi się tu kojarzyla, bydyn swierzo zalany do foremek no i może pudding. Doskonale deserowe piwo, idealne do popicia sporego kesu wyśmienitego tiramisu. Polecam
3.8bottle pours blackish brown thin tan head lots of sediment aroma is dark fruits, chocolate and booze mild sweet flavor with a nice booze finish
4.0Aroma is caramel, toffee, butterscotch, rich, booze, raisins, figs, good. Appearance is dark brown, light tan head, hazy. Taste is caramel, bread, fruitcake, raisins, toffee, butterscotch, booze, it’s nice. Mouthfeel is medium to heavy body, light carbonation, caramel dark fruit bready aftertaste. Overall, I like this one. Just a really heavy Doppelbock. So far, the best one I’ve had by the style.
3.8Bouteille 33cl.
3.63/III/17 - 33cl bottle from Geers (Oostakker) @ post-ACBF tasting (home) - BB: 13/VII/21 (2017-354)
Clear red brown beer, creamy irregular beige head, unstable, bit adhesive. Aroma: lots of ripe banana, caramel, little bitter, dried fruits, oxidized. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: sweet, caramel, very yeasty, pretty bitter, alcohol, dried fruits. Aftertaste: sweet, sugary, unpleasant bitterness, bit hoppy, alcohol, soft roast.
4.011.2oz bottle pours out dark brown almost black topped with a small head. Nose is pit fruit lots of rich malts and plenty sweetness. Taste is more of the nice pitfruit notes a little chocolate almost thick and rich.
3.933cl fles. Helder donker robijnrood kleur, fijne witte schuimkraag. Aroma van rozijnen en karamel. Smaak is zoet, vijgen, rozijnen en karamel. Vol lichaam, veel koolzuur.
3.90.33 l bottle from ’Biertraum’, best before July 2020 (probably bottled in July 2015). Clear, very dark ruby with a thin, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Intensely sweetish, malty and moderately fruity aroma of plums, raisins, molasses, figs and caramel. Very sweet, malty and slightly fruity taste of raisins, plums, molasses, figs and some caramel, followed by a medium long, moderately bitter, quite warming and minimally alcoholic finish. Full body, oily and sticky mouthfeel, almost flat. Really tasty, rich and saturating stuff, almost like a bottom-fermented Barley Wine.
3.7Thank you tderoeck! 330 ml. bottle split post ACBF 2017. BBF 13.07.2021. Dark ruby brown, brief tanned head. Nose is sweet herbal caramelized banana, lager fish guts dominates bit much, brown banana. Taste is big on fish guts lager yeast, sugar, brown banana, yeasty, soapy, yeast dominates bit too much, herbal. Body is herbal lager yeast. Okay but I liked the basic version a lot more. Caramelized taste seems to be bit absent here.
3.8Bottle from Werckmeister (euro local swap 3/201), many thanks! Pours dark brown with a light beige head. Quite sweet, with light roast and lots of dark fruits (raisins, figs, prunes), brown sugar, berries, light citrus. Slick, sweet, not cloying, some bitterness and booze in the finish. Nice.
3.40,33 l bottle, BB 15.07.2020. A darkest brown in the glass, nearly no head. Strong on the nose, roasted malty, fruity, herbal. Taste starts roasty malty, sweet, dark fruity and alcoholic, leather, herbal candy. Some barrel. As expected no easy drinkin´ stuff.
Gut. 10/12/11/12/9/12
3.4Dark brown in color almost no head. Big aromas of caramel all around and slight toffee. The alcohol is decently hidden. Flavors produce big caramel and light alcohol. Pretty one dimensional but cool to rate an eisbock, as they are hard to come by.
