3.8 Pours dark honey color with large white head. Aroma straw, grass. Low carbonation, medium body. Slick feel with soft carbonation. Smooth malt flavor, low bitterness. Good malty beer.
2.9 quite strong with great sessionability, some honey aroma. Some cereal aroma and some nice carbonation for the brew. golden/slightly amber tinted body. Well integrated alcohol for sure.
2.3 Poured it with no head and no lacing. Taste very sweet, like it’s made for kiddies. Boring and mass produced. Yuck!
3.0 Can from LCBO. Sweet honey aroma. Sweet honey taste. Decent, but by no means exciting or special.
2.8 Holsten makes the best shitty-good, drivin’er intaya beers that are (or were) available here. As a young boy of ten, these were my favourite beers to get plastered on half-classily. Golden, sweet and malty with a light pissiness to them. I can never say I was lead astray by a Holsten beer. I know better now, then I was but a wee lad. Many a night. Many a night.
3.3 Yeasty aroma with caramel notes. Clear copper colour. Sweet front with malty middle and slightly sour finish; flavours of caramel, biscuits, and butter. Medium in body and carbonation. A nice beer.
3.1 can. Poured clear gold with a thick off-white head. Sweet grainy aroma, cornish. Medium-light body, average carbonation, finishes with a slick mouthfeel. Rich malty flavour, a bit grainy, notes of honey, caramelized sugar, butter, and booze. Easy drinking even at 7%.
2.1 Yechh. Can. Yellow. Wheat. Aroma of corn and syrupy booze. Not too sure who would drink this or why.
2.5 Yellow and translucent with a white head. Aroma of grass and wheat, taste of bread and corn.
2.1 Can. Not a huge fan. I find these Holsten bocks really show their syrupy alcohol flavour. This one has some bread, caramel, and raisin flavours to it. Don’t let them get to warm, because the aftertaste increases and it is not that good when it is cold.
2.2 500ml can. Clear dark golden body, small white head with poor retention. Aroma of grains, grass, metallic can, sweet corn. Taste on the sweet side: caramel malt, corn, can, some herbs, alcohol. Very boozy for the abv.
3.7 This beer pours a lovely dark gold with a thin white head that dissipates rather quickly. Is is clear with medium sized bubbles from its high rate of carbonation. It’s aroma is of a nice melanoidin malt, with notes of a floral noble hop. No noted diacetyl or fruity esters..the malt has a lovely toasty character and has a somewhat bready yeast palate. Other sensations of melanoidins, caramellization and a light nuttiness are present. Hops are present in the taste but not overwhelming or out of balance. Has palate sensations of a high carbonation rate, and a medium-full body. No slickness on the tongue, it finishes almost dry, with a light tettnanger hop note. Overall a delightful beer with Tasty malty notes of caramel and bread and melanoidin, which balance with the noble hops for a very pleasant session beer indeed.
2.6 [[Style tick]] Pour is golden without much head but the ring that stays leaves some nice lacing. Aroma is of alcohol, grains and fruits. People say "grapes" so I will echoe that. Taste is sweet, sweeter than your usually pale lager at least. Flavors of toasted grains and cereals. Some metallic notes. Alcohol is kind of well hidden but you can still feel it. Carbonation level is medium, texture really oily. I remember liking this one a lot when I started exploring beers but it seems like I have outgrown it now.
2.8 Yellow body with white head, not much lacing. Kind of a tart grape aroma, bubblegum. Taste is faint but nicely sweet, abv well masked. Nothing too interesting, but an alright beer.
1.5 So... this beer is pretty bad. Tastes, looks, and smells like a macro lager. What exactly makes this a maibock? Purity laws and 7% alcohol? Very lame.
2.0 Bière cuivrée et limpide. Nez minéral avec un peu de caramel. En bouche, la bière est mince, moyennement pétillante et la finale est teintée d’alcool et d’amertume. Rien d’extraordinaire. À la limite, c’est presque déplaisant.
2.3 From 500ml can. Pours an amber clear colour, some white head and a thin lacing. Aroma is grass, light caramel and floral and citrus note . Modest carbonation. Taste is quite malty sweet - bitter and alcohol. A decent spring bock, but not too special.
3.0 This is a very quiet beer. it doesn’t have many outstanding features that one might look for. It’s head is minimal, it’s flavour is quiet and subdued . It’s not bad in any way, but it doesn’t stand out from the crowd either.
2.6 Canette 500ml.
2.3 pours clear yellow with a decent white head, retention and lacing. faint biscuity malts, sugary, lightly boozy, bland herbalness, some floral and citrus notes. average to soft carbonation, light body - oily, short herbal-grassy finish. not horrible.
2.6 (bottle, 33cl) Clear, golden colour with a mid-sized and slightly off-white foamy head. Perfumed cara-malty aroma with hints of biscuits, grassy hops and alcohol. Sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied with a modest carbonation. Cara-malt, bready notes and a very shy hoppy touch; sweet and restrained bitter finish with hints of alcohol. Not so entertaining. 25.VIII.12
2.2 Buddel: Golden, no hesd to speak of, light alcoholic-bisquity nose; soft, medium bodied, delicate -oh sweet nothing- sweetish flavour; light sweet-bitter finish with an alcoholic touch. Oh, just one of the worst german Bocks…
2.4 Drank from 500 ml can. Nice malt profile with raisin and maybe even cherries. Light in the mouth with medium carbonation. Nothing too special, but I wouldn’t turn it down if offered again.
1.8 Poured from a 500ml can into a chalice glass. Pours a pale amber colour. About a finger of white head that dissapated too quickly into nothing. Strong grass-y and citrus aroma. Taste is smooth and sweet with minimal carbonation. Nothing special to note about this beer; would not recommend.
1.0 I taste the acetaldehyde in this more than any other beer. When I drink this I feel like I’ve paid Carlsberg to give me cancer for some reason. Oh yeah because acetaldehyde is a carcinogen. Never thought a bock this bad actually existed. Not much more to say.
3.0 500ml can pours a pale amber color with a finger of white head that settles quickly leaving a thin lacing on the glass. Aroma is light caramel and grass with hints of alcohol. Taste is quite malty sweet with a mild hop bitterness and alcohol in the finish. A decent spring bock but flavors are a little unbalanced.
1.8 Clear dark golden with a white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, sugary and alcohol. Flavor is quite sweet and light bitter. Sweet finish. with warming alcohol. This doesn’t hide the alcohol well. 290512
1.7 Bottle. Clear deep golden with tiny white head. Aroma is malt, straw, grainy with notes of alcohol. Flavour is malt, grainy, straw, little hop, medium sweet, little bitter with notes of alcohol.
