3.5 Bottle from Tallahassee TJ’s. Fairly true to form for a Belgian strong ale. A little syrupy sweet towards borderline cloying though. Fairly classic alcohol punch. Fine.
4.1 2013 bottle at camana bay in grand cayman. Nose is crisp jut like body. Notes of Apple and cereal with pear like finish. Sharp bite at times too. Pretty manly at 10% and it let's u know. Would do again. ---Rated via my mouth
4.2 Sweet ,fruity and awesome taste. Would have it again anytime. Love the fact that it’s a small batch beer. Keep it up!
3.3 On tap. Amber in color with average white head. Fruity aroma. Mostly sweet flavor with banana and clove notes. Somewhat boozy. Medium bodied. Subtle flavors. Good.
3.3 Found this on the bottle list at Ford’s Garage in Ft Myers and what a fun and welcome crazy Belgian beer from FL with a goofy fish in the cartoon label. It was a "flavorful Belgian yeast creating a potpourri of flavor." Hell Yeah...
2.9 2010 bottle found in the rot closet...must have been saving because I didn’t want to drink it, not to intentionally age. Pours a muddy brown color, minimal head. Huge sweet, caramel, toffee, aroma with hints of citrus. Super sweet, caramel, toffee malt, alcohol, light spicy yeast character, actually not too bad but a sweet mess, high boost at least...I’ll chalk that up to the age.
2.4 This is a strong, rich, full-bodied beer. You'll love it or hate it for its unique sweet bite. -- rated via 'Find A Beer' for Blackberry 10
2.6 Local craft beer from south florida, 10% alcohol but it hides it well. Very fruity overall and it overwhelms the belgian wheats. Interesting beer but not for me.
3.1 A: Amber/Orangish Hue, Passes Lots of Light, Very Little Head, No Lacing S: Belgian Sugar, Tropical Fruits T: Nectarine, Papaya, Pineapple, Belgian Sugars M: Mild Carbonation, Light to Medium Bodied, Sweet, Cloying Overall, for a triple/saison, it is way too sweet. This is a good beer for a fruit beer lover but very one dimensional.
3.3 Pour is an amber with a small white head. Aroma is candi sugar with a molasses with almost a peppery hint. Flavor is also decent with a lot of candi sugar and molasses. Aftertaste lingers
3.2 Clear orange copper, off white cover. Seems dark if it is meant as a tripel. Odd aroma, spicy, some bits of apparent Belgian yeast are covered up by alcohol, tinny malt. Taste is again spicy, apparent alcohol, some caramlized sugar notes, otherwise a bit bland if strong.
2.7 Aroma is dominated by floral notes and phenolic spices. The spices are coriander, clove and anise. The floral note is lavender and yarrow. The aroma is so strong it seems almost artificial and drowns out everything else. A slight citrus aroma is present behind the flowers and spice. Pours a slightly cloudy copper with a hint of orange. Moderately thick, fairly large, slightly off white head that steadily recedes. Flavor is ridiculously sweet upfront with tons of honey. Mid palate the sweetness sort of dies down but the honey ramps up. Spice notes are moderate but oddly enough make the sweetness even worse; sugar coated coriander sound good to anyone? The flavor has a definite oxidative quality to it while being very much under attenuated; is this beer 10% or were they attempting to hit 10%? Light bitterness helps a bit to balance out the sweetness but not enough. An odd, off flavor in the finish, not infection but perhaps rotten vegetables. Mouthfeel is medium full bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and medium low alcohol warmth. Way too sweet and not dry enough for the style. Overall this is one of the worst beers I have had in awhile. It is just so sweet and under attenuated. It also has the honey note and rotten vegetable character working against it. The aroma is too one dimensional. I hope my sink is thirsty.
3.1 An alright saison. Not much in the nose though. Sweet, refreshing, and great on a hot Saturday.
3.4 Bottle from Total Wine in Boca Raton, FL. Tulip. Thick head disappears quickly. Belgian style orange-brown pour with significant haze. Aroma is very sweet fruits with yeasts, malts and bread. The taste is primarily sweet fruits such as apricot, apples, pears and tangerines. You get the Belgian yeast but not as predominant as many Belgian Strong Ales. The hops are fairly mild but they seem to balance the malts fairly well. Hard to tell it is a 10% abv. Didn’t seem boozy at all. Mouth is very smooth with a fruity aftertaste. Very good for a Belgian.
3.2 Bottle to snifter (shared with the Mrs; thanks burg326). Looks solid; a semi-transparent brownish-orange with off-white head that dissipates into lacing fairly quickly. Smells of Belgian yeast, spices, and some caramel. Tastes like it smells with a smooth mouthfeel. Not bad, and dangerously drinkable for the abv.
3.7 Bottle via Hopscotch and served in tulip: Pours Clean deep golden hue with a nice lasting head and good lace. The aroma has notes of honey, ripened apples, ginger, biscuit grains and bubblegummy Belgian yeast esters. The taste is quite fruity and yeast driven with cotton candy and candied apples overtones. Some caramel and biscuit along with a dash of spicy hops. Does get a touch overly sweet as it warms but the some more alcohol also shows up. The mouth feel is lightly sticky and sharp. Overall I solid brew but I am glad it is only a 12 ounce bottle for I am pretty sure I would not more than that.
3.6 Pours a murky amber with a large foam head. Nose is caramel, yeast, raisins. Taste is caramel, dark dried fruits, raisins, dates. Palate is both sprightly and at athe same time reminiscent of old English leather armchairs. Quite odd.
3.5 2009 edition. Pours foggy amber with medium foamy white head Aromas of raspberries, sour butterness, oaky Very foamy mouthfeel, full of honey, syrup, fudge, oak, resin, cherries. It is simply aged...
2.5 Hazy darker orange yellow with small white foam head. Aroma is little hoppy with some fruit tones. Taste is quite flat, difficult to tell, little fruit, some alcohol. Little aftertaste. (Velp 201303)
3.1 Bottle. Pours a reddish orange color with a soapy white grass. Aroma is raisin, dates, candy sugar, booze. Taste is a but boozy and syrupy. Nothing spacial.
2.9 Pours a light amber with no head. Aroma of Belgian yeast and raw sugar as well as dates/raisins. Taste is sweet, heavy alcohol, Belgian yeast, figs/raisins and raw sugar. Syrupy sweet and high alcohol presence make this a sipper.
2.1 Pours amber with a thin tan mostly receding head. Notes of caramelized wort, overripe fruit, spice, cherry. Full bodied and sticky sweet with soft carbonation. Overly sweet and syrupy.
3.2 Sweet malty Belgian aromas. Pound cake with nutty fruit flavors. Overall a very good Belgian style beer.
3.4 Copper colored beer with a white head. Smells of sweet toffee, and something nutty. Tastes of caramel, sweet malts, earthy/nutty/woody flavors, candy sugar, and some brown sugar. Sweet, semi-boozy finish. Very different for the style, but in a good way. High ABV is hidden quite well, a bit syrupy on the mouth feel with some cloying sweetness. I enjoyed this one.
3.0 Very interesting. Tastes like a home brew Belgian Dubbel that I did. Very sweet. Awesome bottle!
3.3 Poured form a 12 ounce bottle thanks to a generous trader. Thanks! Pours a hazy copper color with a light beige head of foam that fades down to just a ring around the edge of the glass. The aroma has a barrel aged booziness to it. Don’t know how that happened. It smells very sweet. Taste brings out an almost honey, mead, wine type of taste. This is a very interesting beer, that’s for sure.
1.4 Bottle. Pours a hazy reddish amber color with absolutely no head to it. Relatively little smell to it, though I can get faint hints of fruit to it. Taste is almost like cough syrup - eerily sweet and fruity with no balance to it. Icky.
0.9 I’m not usually so critical and I love the name and graphics, but without a doubt... the worst beer I’ve had in 40 years of drinking beers. Worse than bad oral medicine. Strong unpleasant odor should have made me stay away, but I pressed on as did a friend. The taste is a nightmare. You have been warned. Not coming to my store.
3.5 From bottle while in Fort Lauderdale, pours a nice orange/brown. Not typically a big fusion fan but the trippel/saison caught my eye immediately. I have to say, I am very pleasantly surprised. This is quite nice and unique. Perfect for later in the football season, late autumn, cooler weather. Wish I could get this back home in OK.
3.1 Pours a little darker than I would expect at a bit of deep yellow almost orange. Aroma is fruit banana and toasty grain. Flavor is a little pungent. Getting some banana and baked bread with a sticky sweetness mid palate. This is pretty interesting but not sure it all comes together perfectly. It’s pretty close but there is something a touch off here.
